Frustrating Warranty Experience – Poor Customer Service

I bought the Nothing Ear (a) directly from the official store in April 2024. Just a few months later, the right earbud stopped charging properly. What should have been a simple warranty claim turned into a frustrating back-and-forth with copy-paste responses, unclear instructions, and no real progress.

Despite providing all necessary information (serial number, photo, full name, order number), I received repeated standard replies and was even warned of potential repair costs – despite the product being well within the legal 2-year EU warranty period.

The support process feels unnecessarily complicated and completely out of touch with modern expectations. Very disappointing for a tech company that markets itself as forward-thinking.

AVOID!!!

Do not ever purchase anything from these people. Their support is purposefully atrocious and tries to delay you, wastes your time, has an awful return process and poor products.

Best for thieves

I had a terrible experience. My Ear got stolen, and Nothing support told me they are not able to track the device because they're short on resources. How crap. And even if the product is registered under my name, this doesn't prevent any third party from pairing and using the device again. What a paradise for thieves. They're cheap (and not that much, anyway) cause they're worth nothing.

Bad product, bad policy

Had an issue with the right earbud of my CMF Pro 2s (constant white noise sound with ANC). I reached out to Amazon, they said speak to Nothing directly. Nothing told me to speak to Amazon. No help offered. They say that's their policy - it's a bad policy. You've made a faulty product (as reported by many others) and you offer no support. Will be avoiding Nothing products in future.

STILL Extremely Disappointing - Nothing Tech Continues to Fail on All Fronts

Background: My initial purchase of a Nothing Phone (2a) was fraught with issues, including conflicting information about pickup options and a refusal to ship the device nor allow a relative to pick up the device on my behalf. This set the tone for what has become a consistently frustrating experience. The phone itself soon displayed poor build quality, with the screen cracking under normal usage conditions and later developing two prominent green lines.

Current Situation:
Following my initial review detailing the abysmal build quality of my Phone (2a) and the consistently poor customer service, I am compelled to write an urgent follow-up. The situation has only deteriorated.

My screen issues (cracking, green lines) persist, and Nothing Tech continues to refuse warranty coverage, despite the build quality issues occurring within the warranty period as defined on their own T&Cs, and despite clear breaches of consumer rights. In a desperate attempt to get a resolution, I even walked into their Soho store recently. Predictably, no manager was available. I specifically asked an assistant to contact a Customer Experience Manager, as this individual was the only person who showed a modicum of helpfulness during my initial phone purchase difficulties.

It has now been seven days since my visit, and I have received absolutely no response from Nothing Tech or the Customer Experience Manager. This deafening silence, after a direct request and a personal visit, is utterly contemptible and exemplifies the company's contempt for its customers.

Nothing Tech not only delivers a product with questionable build quality but consistently demonstrates a shocking disregard for customer support, from pre-sale confusion to outright abandonment in post-sale issues. My experience unequivocally shows that they are unwilling to honour warranties, address genuine product faults, or even respond to direct pleas for help.

Avoid Nothing Tech if you value your money, your time, or your sanity. This company's products and service are a complete letdown.

Rating: 1 star (unchanged, as the situation has not improved)

Nothing: Customer Disservice

Purchased a pair of the new Headphone (1) 'phones as despite the whole genre being mostly subjective the reviews have been generally favourable.

The sound volume is noticeably lower than previous headphones and the quality just above par.

Ironically, Nothing do everything to make the return as hard as possible. From declaring the serial number and taking photos of the product to recording a VIDEO of me packing the item for return before I can get an RMA.

I did want to ask if they wanted a POV video of me walking to the post office to send it but afraid that me being facetious would only slow this already arduous process down further.

SUMMARY: if you're buying a Nothing product, make sure you're keeping it.

Great until not

Nothing (a) buds - bought these on a recommendation and while they worked they were excellent. Then it all went wrong.
A tip for any potential purchasers of Nothing products - BUY FROM AMAZON. If you buy direct the support is atrocious. I am currently in a state of not being able to return the buds because the serial number provided by Nothing is wrong on their system! So, their serial number is wrong which means my issue has to sit on hold until they resolve their issue! I was considering a Nothing phone next, but no chance now.

One month later, no repair, no refund, no replacement

I sent my Nothing Ear earbuds for warranty repair over a month ago. Nothing’s own policy states that repairs take 3 to 5 working days, excluding logistics. It has now been well over 25 business days, and I have received nothing but holding emails saying they are “waiting for parts” and “have no update.”

Despite repeated requests, I have not been offered a refund or a replacement, just empty apologies.

No warranty across EU countries!!

(Support ticket: 1209470)
READ BEFORE BUYING IN THE EU: this company doesn't give you commercial EU warranty. This means that they completely divert warranty responsibility to the seller. What does it mean in practice? Well, if you're planning to stay in the same place for the next 2 years, you're good, the phone is also good, I really like it. But if you're planning to change city/country in the next months or you find yourself temporarily abroad in another EU country, for example for work (as happened to me), FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T BUY A NOTHING PRODUCT. In case of problems, you will have to somehow send the product to the original store where you purchased it. For some reason, you can't send the product to the repair centers from whichever place you are in at the moment of failure. This has to be known. I bought the phone used in Spain since I'm here for work and my old phone broke, and now I'm going back to Italy soon. This guy had bought the phone in Canary Islands, so you can imagine how hard it will be for me to send the phone there from Italy (it will cost more or less 50€, along with many days...) in case of failure. Their customer service (cr*ppy AI responses) told me that I will not be able to use my warranty in Italy. So practically I have an almost brand new ~400 euros phone WITHOUT WARRANTY. Stay away from this company, if you find yourself in this situation.

Great phone, great value

Just got my 3rd Nothing Phone. Nothing 3a. Had the 1 and the 2a plus.
The 3a is a big improvement over the 2a. Faster and slicker. Camera functions are better and the device feels very much quicker. Excellent value for money and very very easy to set up. Copied all my apps and put in the same place as the previous device which is super helpful. As they say - what's not to like.

Do NOT waste your time with Nothing…

Do NOT waste your time with Nothing customer service. Sure, they put out decent products at decent prices, but consider them single use items that you chuck out once anything goes wrong. Contact customer support and they will not know a thing. Mention a summer sale and they ask you for print screens of their own website to inform another department about it. Next they can not answer any questions and promise to get back to you. This results in an email that they have your outstanding question or issue, followed by another email after a few days to inform you things are taking longer than anticipated. In the meantime, the sale item you asked about is no longer on sale. This is not relevant either way, because they simply never show any sign of life after the message that your question is taking longer to reply to than anticipated. Of course a basic question about some of the basic specs (such as colour, availability, etc) are rather challenging, so I get how they would need some additional time to reply. Whatever. Anyway, I'm glad I went through this prior to owning any of their products, it has helped me having to deal with them in the future. I highly recommend any phone from pretty much any brand that cares about customer satisfaction.

Plays by it's own rules not by law

I bought some CMF Buds 2 Plus and they don't really cancel out any noise, changed the tips, updated firmware and they are mediocre earbuds and therefore they are not "fit for purpose" and as they are mail order they are also covered by CCR (Consumer Contract Regulations)

After flagging that I'm entitled to a full refund, they said they are not faulty and will take £10 off my refund for "postage" even though they are not "fit for purpose" and that's directly in breach of consumer contract regulations for mail order products.

So I've wasted £60 on a useless product, with customer service essentially scamming you out of £10 if you return them because they (essentially this what they said in their last reply) they can!?

I know the CEO wants to be a disruptor and produce unique and interesting products but this is not the way to make money on instill trust in your customer base.

Great customer support

I had a couple of questions, and the customer support agent, Basma Saeed, resolved them quickly and efficiently by reaching out to my local HQ. She did a fantastic job, and I truly appreciated her professionalism and responsiveness.

While it may seem a bit inefficient to have support agents based in the GMT+5:30 time zone assisting European customers, that doesn't take away from the excellent treatment I received. Overall, a very positive experience!

CMF Nothing Buds Pro 2

I bought the CMF Nothing Buds Pro 2, and so far I have really enjoyed them, they have a long battery life and amazing sound quality like no other earbuds I've tried in the past for an exceptional price,

Alongside this the CMF and Nothing, support staff are very kind and helpful, and they are very quick to responding if you run into any issues.

Good Phone EVERYTHING else awful

I took a punt on the CMF phone, a new brand that promised innovation and customisability. While the actual phone hardware is decent, everything else about the experience has been downright frustrating.

The phone was marketed as modular, with accessories you could add on, but none have been released. So that’s just false advertising.

The included screen protector peeled off within a day. I contacted support to ask if I could buy a replacement, only to be told they don’t even sell them. Seriously?

I pre-ordered the phone during a promotion that promised free earbuds. They arrived a full month after the phone, making that yet another case of misleading advertising.

Then there's the “Essentials” button, placed awkwardly right next to the power button. Disabling it in settings does nothing, and there’s no way to remap or remove it. Pretty ironic for a phone that prides itself on customisability.

And the customer service? Wow. It’s just AI-generated nonsense that dodges your questions and churns out generic responses. Completely unhelpful.

It’s a real shame, the phone itself has potential and some great hardware. But the broken promises, lack of support, and terrible customer service completely ruin the experience. I wouldn’t recommend it.
