Deceptive paywall

Numbeo now requires you to pay to visit many pages, claiming that "your free limit has been reached". However, for testing purposes, I connected via my smartphone (something I normally never do) opened a browser I never use, and also used incognito mode.

You know what? It still said that my limit had been reached, even though they are unable to identify me as the same user. This means there is no real "free limit" for those pages. They are simply using that misleading message to pressure users into paying.

Numbeo is always wrong!

I have lived around the world. Numbeo is ALWAYS wrong about everything. Food, housing, utilities, crime. As it is an unregulated, user-submitted site, there is no way to verify the information, or prevent it from propaganda. Some data sets, are generated from as little as one random user.

Numbeo Crime index is very inaccurate

Numbeo Crime index is very inaccurate, it rates Pretoria as the 2nd most dangerous city in the world, do you know how insane that is? I've lived there all my life and have never been a victim or know of anyone close who has, to be ranked number 2 as the most dangerous city in the whole world means I should atleast know someone who has been a victim at some point in 30 years of my life, this is insane!

Inaccurate

Inaccurate
It seems almost biased?

It says house prices food etc etc is higher in the US than it is in the Uk however if you do just 5 minutes of research you will find it is very cheap to live in the US compared to the UK even NYC is cheaper than pretty much the whole of the UK and you can see that yourself with just 5minutes of looking at homes and restaurants etc etc

Numbeo....unreliabel

I have used Numbeo as guide for some time. However, their cost of living comparisons are inaccurate. The prices quoted for various food items are incorrect. I have repeatedly tried to correct them based on my personal shopping experiences at major supermarkets in my local area, but despite filling in the forms offered by Numbeo to do this, the prices are never updated. So frankly it seems to me the cost of living comparisons offered by Numbeo are worthless. I assume the same inaccuracies are applied to the quality of life indices. A pity really as it would be incredibly useful to have a reliable source to use for information and comparison.

No real data just opinions from users.

People need to know this is not actual data but purely opinions entered by whoever wants to. In other words thus is literally made up data!!!

It pains me that people will believe the nonsense that originated from this website.

Crimea is Ukraine

We all know Crimea is occupied by the Russian Federation, yes I know it's been for 8 years. But it doesn't change the status of Crimea. Which is internationally recognized as Ukraine. By showing Simferopol, Sevastopol or other Crimean cities as "Russia" you aid the occupation. I urge you to show all Crimean cities as Ukraine. Surely feel free to mention that the peninsula is currently controlled by the Russian Federation.

Useless bunch of numbers

From what I see:
1- The items used for cost comparison are mostly irrelevant and extremely hard to define, let alone to compare internationally. For example a meal in a good restaurant, imported beer, apartment in the city center and outside the city center (like if in/out of the city center universally reflects the same difference in the quality of life/neighborhood, in every single city around the world).
2- For these very randomly and vaguely defined items, prices are wrong in most cases by 20%-50%.

Great helper for the world travelers!

I like to travel a lot and because of that, I am changing my job very often and always choose different countries. That's why Numbeo is something I use very frequently and it is a great helper for getting good estimate about the cost of living in any city. Even it is based just on information that is entered by website visitors, prices are pretty accurate. It seems that validation process behind is working very well. I like its simple, no fancy UI, design. Simply said, an awesome tool!
