We paid this company $240,000 back in 2021, they still do nothing, there is not even a foundation slab for the house. We tried to return the money, they refused and began to threaten us with lawyers.

It's bad that such companies are allowed to collect money from investors without having an Escrow. There are no guarantees. There is a very high degree of deception, since the house has not been built for more than 2.5 years.
I wanted to get my money back, which I invested more than 2 years ago, but the company refused me. At the same time, they do not build a house. It is impossible to agree on a solution to solve the problem with them.
