My experience with O2 as an internet…

My experience with O2 as an internet service provider has been quite unsatisfactory. The connection is often unstable and significantly slower than the speed promised in the contract. There are frequent outages, sometimes lasting several hours, which makes it difficult to work or study online.

Customer support is also disappointing. I have to wait a long time for an agent to answer, and when I finally get through, the solutions offered are usually temporary or ineffective. Instead of fixing the problem, they often suggest restarting the router or waiting for the issue to resolve itself.

Considering the price they charge, the quality of service is terrible

Worst internet provider in Brno

Worst internet provider in Brno. My connection drops at least twice a day, which is a disaster for online exams or gaming. When you call the support line, you just talk to a stupid robot for 10 minutes. They promise "premium speed" but deliver 1990s reliability. I am cancelling my contract next month

No fixing the current issues but promoting/selling additional services

My mother is a senior, and she is immobile. Watching TV is her main daily activity. She called O2 a week ago to arrange for a technician to come and set up her TV channels, which were completely lost at her location due to O2 purchasing the local TV company. She was immediately offered other services, such as switching her internet and cell phone data plans to O2. Since last week, my mom has been bombarded by automated calls and SMSs about the internet installation, but no words about the technician coming to fix her TV channels, for which they continue to charge her. When my mother calls O2 customer service, she is either disconnected after a long waiting time or an automated voice mail tells her that she will be contacted in two (2) business days. I tried to set-up for her an online account at O2 but was unsuccessful due to "technical issues" with her email or password.
I have no words about how bad O2's services are. If there were an alternate TV provider, I would definitely avoid this company. So far, this situation is very stressful for my mother, and for me, used to services overseas, it is absolutely unacceptable. I hope that O2 will rectify this problem immediately after reading this review, and I will update this review accordingly.

I was with O2 for more than 5 years

I was with O2 for 5 years. Then I wanted to switch to a prepaid card because I no longer live in the Czech Republic, but I still wanted to keep my phone number since many of my contacts use it.

Can you imagine what they did?
1. First, they said it would take 30 days to disconnect me from O2—and of course, I had to pay for that month.
2. Then, after more than a month, once I was fully disconnected, they told me they needed to reconnect me again just to transfer to prepaid—and yes, I had to pay another month of subscription (around 1000 CZK).

So in total, I had to wait over 2 months and pay for 2 months of service I didn’t need, just to switch to prepaid.

What the fk? Are they seriously treating customers like this? Do they think we’re powerless and will just accept it?
It’s horrible, greedy, and disgusting.

Scam

Customer service can only be described as horrendous. Most of the time, no one answers the line – they probably just avoid dealing with angry customers. The wireless internet is also quite poor. As for the O2 TV and their set-top box, I have nothing positive to say either – it barely works. Considering the high price, O2 is simply not worth it.

Unreliable Internet and Zero Customer Support

The 5G Box Internet service is plagued by unstable speeds—sometimes it slows to a crawl for no clear reason. What’s worse, their customer support is virtually nonexistent. You're left dealing with an unhelpful bot and no real way to reach a human. Frustrating experience all around. Avoid if you value consistency and service.

Unfair credit charge for unwanted service, no refund possible

I accidentally topped up my O2 prepaid card with 300 CZK. Immediately after the top-up, the entire balance was automatically deducted for a service I never activated or requested. I called O2 customer service right away to explain the situation and ask for a refund or cancellation, but they refused to help.

I was told:

there is no way to get a refund once the credit is used (even if it’s automatic and unwanted),

the service cannot be canceled or reversed.

Now my balance is 1 CZK, and I received no benefit. This is unacceptable customer treatment and shows a complete lack of flexibility or fairness. I do not recommend O2 to anyone.

5G Internet

5G Internet
The sales guy came to my house. He was great, clear, the service was a great price and he promised the tech guy would call within a week to make an appointment to install it. The tech guy called the next day and installed the day after that. So far awsome!

The service rocked - for about 3 hours. Then it fell. It took me about an hour on the phone with their deeply frustrating "help" bot - online and on the phone. I finally got a person who told me 5G can take a day to settle down (I don't know why but ok...).

It never did. I now restart 3 or more times a day. When I'm on a work call I use my phone as a hotspot - it's reliable. The help folks seem like the want to help - the tell me nice things and make promises but... I get no meaningful progress reports and no promises actually get done.

The service includes the hardware which I must buy - for 6,000 kc. And Czech law states that I have 14 days to cancel the service and return the stuff without needing to pay. I have tried to get them to extend this deadline and solve the problem or make me some reasonable other offer but it seems they just want to run out my time so I'm stuck in a contract for a service that doesn't work right and customer service that really sucks.

I've spent hours of my own time trying to resolve this - I'd actually like to keep the service if it worked. But O2 cz simply doesn't seem to give a rats ...

Expensive for an avarage quality. Extra charges for everything and limited deposit’s returned. You can easily pay with a credit bank, but return only to a Czech account or by crediting your balance, very hard way. They lied it was for 24 months only. Customer service is rather pathetic and finally limit responses to send an email. No more.

A rip off

I subscribed to an internet contract in February 2022. Internet speed was always disappointing. I was charged 1000 Kc security for being a foreigner, which was never returned. To top it up, I was "sold" an modem without my full knowledge, which I would never agree to buy, and was accordingly charge 2500Kc at the end of the contract, because this totally useless material "was mine". Stay away from those people is my advice.

terrible service, unprofessional approach.

I went to O2 because i want to use my familyandfriends invitation for a cheaper tarif.
They offered tarifs between starting from 1499 czk the requested all documents tripple or twice and even with recidence permit i should need to pay them a deposite even tough everything on my current provide is paid and part two of how to treat foreigners is that all the communication is only in czech, every mail needs to be translated.
UNREAL. deleting of the personal data takes 2 working-days, let's see if this will be the truth.
I WARN EVERYONE- do not even think about using o2, terribel.

4000 czk for a cheap wi-fi router

it's not the worst, but the reviews are true, I wish I had read them BEFORE signing a contract with them and buying a router for 4000 czk which was of course not explained to me when signing the contract............ they installed the interned through a phone cable in my flat, and when I later started complaining about the regular outages, they said this technology is outdated and no better options are available for my house, then why did you sell that Zyxel router to me (which was introduced by the representative as a rental not purchase "you'll pay us 69 czk extra for the router monthly") instead of honestly warning me there's no real internet cable in my house ... this is awful.
