DAB 400 power failed

Bought a Oakcastle DAB 400 from Amazon April last year, so 18 months ago. Worked fine initially, and it was placed in my wife's crafting room where it had very infrequent use. Checked on it today (as I was putting up picture hooks in the room) to find the DAB 400 dead - no clock displaying and no power. Changed the power source. Still nothing. I would have checked the fuse in the plug but it's a sealed unit. Regrettably I failed to register initially for the extended warranty, so basically that was a wasted £100. Lesson learnt - always register for a warrantly.

One of the best purchases I have made recently!

I have been enjoying my HIFI500. I bought it to enjoy the many CDs that I have not digitized and I am so glad that I did. The sound is great and the compact size of the unit makes it convenient. I have been going down memory lane listening to all of the music that I have been missing the last nearly 20 years.

The HIFI500 is priced really well compared to similar units and the delivery was fast.

The majority oakcastle cd 100 free…

The majority oakcastle cd 100 free standing or wall Mountable hifi has some major issues with it.
1...it doesn't have a headphone port and all electrical music items for the home should have a headphone port.Although many incorrect descriptions online says it does, but IT DOESNT.
2...THE ALARM...this is a joke it has to be as the volume will come on at number 14 which is far to loud for any bedroom. It cannot be set any lower or higher than 14 for the wake up alarm.
3...It has no battery back up if the power goes out during the night and you have an alarm set you will not be getting up as it will reset time to zero.
4...if you play music at night to fall to sleep to especially the radio it does have a sleep timer. But all you will hear is a lot of hissing over the radio at any volume below number 5.So what's the point.
5...Its designed to stand freely and take up little space but you have to hold it tight when changing the cd as it will topple over as there is no real base weight to it.
6...a piece of long wire is your fm Antenna and really this unit could have benefited from an actual telescopic fixed antenna for style.
7...Well I think this item has been thrown together and basically no real thought went into it as all I have mentioned above could have made this a really REALLY good hifi unit.
SO BASICALLY it's just a cd/fm player with Bluetooth and aux input with a decent sound but not bassy at all.The clock, alarm and timer sleep function are useless if you want it for an alarm clock in the bedroom to WAKE UP THE WHOLE STREET

The CD player (CD10) of substance and great price

The CD player (CD10) is the first player I've bought in ages that has some substance to it. Came with all the cables I could need, plus included batteries. The controls are easy to use and the sound quality is perfect. Great price too. Very pleased.

Great purchase

This was purchased for an elderly relative. It
needed to have simple controls, good sound quality and look smart. It ticks all boxes plus the warranty was extremely easy to register. Very happy with this purchase.

Beyond Expectation

I like using a portable CD sometimes and I had just discovered the Oakcastle CD125. OK, let's get over the hill of negative. Not so much a hill as a slight bump - the speakers. Can't think really where they would be useful, but hey they're there. So, sound. I have used these with Sony 1000M3, Sennheiser Momentum over ear and 1More triple driver in-ear headphones. It was a three bears experience, Sony being bass heavy, 1More tending to lightness and the Sennheiser just right. Use the EQ to get the best out of each. The Momentum's, using EQ 'Rock' and playing Manfred Mann's Earth Band 'Martha's Madman' was stunning. Poor quality kit makes bass lazy, imprecise, but here, my word, hard, fast attack. You could hear the bass drum actually being a bass drum. The sharper staccato snap of the drumsticks on skin was well reproduced too. This really is way beyond expectations. Then I thought push it a bit. The very deep bass underlying the Lorde 'Royals' track is all there and again, fits in its place among the music. I used the 'Pop' EQ here. Add to the sonic experience the solid and very tactile nature of the product and I'm as satisfied as a cup of hot chocolate on a cold, rainy day. (This is a personal review).
