So far the medicine and the coaching as well as the Facebook community have really helped me. I’ve stayed dry. I don’t have any cravings and it’s trying to get through my first 30 days and so far so good.

I was unable to tolerate the medication. It made me nauseous every time I took it. I consulted my doctor and they recommended I started with a crumb sized dose and moved up over the course of a few weeks. Even after two weeks of taking a crumb sized dose I was still unable to tolerate the side effects.
*UPDATE* I am changing my rating to 3 stars because the company reached out to me and expressed a genuine concern for the problems I experienced taking this medication. This medicine might not work for me but it appears to help a lot of people. Thank you Jonathan and the people at Oar for addressing my issues and making things right. I wish everyone the best of luck on their alcohol free journey.

Oar Health has truly changed my life. Since starting the program, not drinking has made such a difference in every part of my life, and the medication has been amazing for me. The service is incredible—everything is convenient, I don’t have to go anywhere, and the cost is so much less than going to a physical doctor. They check in with you and genuinely care, which has meant the world to me. The medication is shipped to your home discreetly, and there’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. So many people struggle with drinking, and it can impact everything. I’m so grateful I found Oar Health, and I truly believe 2026 will be my best year ever because of the help I received. Highly recommend.

I received the Naltrexone HCL as promised, on time and waited a few days before beginning a 1/2 pill x 2 regimen per day for the first week. I have been drinking way too much for way too long and wanted to completely stop. I started on December 16, 2025 at 11:51 a.m. and then followed with the second 1/2 dose at 8:44 pm (EST). Today is December 28 and I have not had a single drink in that amount of time and, as advertised (at least for me), I have not had irresistible urges to drink. I had fleeting pulls when remodeling a cabinet and historically have embibed when getting into sketchy projects to take the edge off. Other than a couple faint pulls I have not had an urge to drink. After a week, I started to take the full dose pill between 9-10 am every day. The information from Oarhealth (emails) has been timely and informative. I plan on taking it steadily for at least three months, refilling the prescription and then maybe dropping back to 1/2 dose a day or every other day to see if the urges are gone while keeping a reserve. I want to go back to being a teetotaler like I was for over 17 years before falling down the rabbit hole.

I started this program 2 weeks ago to find help with my drinking. It was easy and informative, I answered questions about my relationship with alcohol, my lifestyle and my health history. I was set up with a support team and received my medication right away . Since starting my journey, I received daily emails checking in with me, sending me information about naltrexone, side effects, how to take the medication etc. always offering advice and support. I’ve only been taking the pill a short time but already notice a substantial difference in my reaction to alcohol. My overall consumption has decreased greatly. I’m excited for what is to come. Can’t recommend this enough.

The Oar team has been quick to assist me and their client interface makes communication easy. I appreciate that they’ve supplied a lot of helpful information and want to check in with me about how things are going. The assistance Oar has provided me has made a big difference so far and I’m looking forward to continued good results. The only drawback is the expense of treatment since it is not covered by insurance. I am still glad I reached out to them though.
