Faulty device out of the box, shocking customer support avoid this company

Bought the OBDeleven 3 PRO Pack bundle (device + 12-month PRO plan + 100 credits) in late 2025 for my 2016 VW T6. Device arrived faulty straight away: no power LED lights up at all (their own docs say this means it's likely defective), Bluetooth detects it on my phone, but the mandatory firmware update fails every single time in an endless "unplug and try again" loop.
I spent nearly the whole day troubleshooting hard seating in the OBD port, ignition on, engine running for stable power, full app reinstalls, cache clears, phone restarts, everything. My OBD port works fine with other scanners. The device is completely unusable, so the PRO plan and credits never activated (they're tied to first successful connection).
Contacted support via live chat on 9 Jan 2026 slow replies, asked for pointless stuff like videos or trying another car (despite me proving my port works). As soon as I requested a full refund under UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 (right to reject faulty goods within 30 days), they went silent for hours, ignored multiple follow-ups, and the next day they're still trying to fob me off with more "troubleshooting" instead of refunding.
Absolute joke of a company known issues with gen 3 devices (update loops, dead LEDs all over forums/Reddit), terrible support that ghosts you when you push for your legal rights. Had to start a chargeback with my bank to get my money back.
Do not buy from OBDeleven faulty hardware, zero accountability, and they'll drag it out to avoid refunds. Spend your cash on a reliable tool like Carly or VCDS instead. Complete waste of time and money.

Don't spend your money on this

Don't spend your money on this. Extremely expensive for just giving you diagnosis. I made the mistake of buying on impulse. Now that I have it, I realised I spent too much for what it gives to you.
If you want to do a simple reset of a sensor, you need to subscribe a ONE YEAR plan, which costs 85 euros in addition to the reader (90 euros)!

For diagnosis only you can find way cheaper alternatives. For some changes, go for a more robust solution so you don't need to pay for an year and more.

I will try to sell mine in second hand market, just used once, so I can buy a different product.

Doesnt Work Not Compatible Poor Customer Service Inexperienced Tech That Will Leave You Hanging

According to the site and their rep. they confirmed that the car I contacted them about and the features I needed was "compatible". After getting the device, and speaking to their reps for couple days. NONE of the info and instruction they provided even existed. They even told me to try other modules and options where it doesnt even exist. They also told me to "google it" or read their "Forum" when I told them the features posted compatible in my car doesnt exist.
They then ask me if I needed additional help and I replied yes, they just left me hanging and went silent.,
Returning this piece of junk and going to get a real scanner instead.

Absolutely commercial project

Absolutely commercial project. Basically works like a bank. Designed to constantly suck your money. Does nothing without paying extra. I returned it immediately. I'll try not to remember, but I saw advertising traps, so I wrote, maybe it will help someone not to take out unnecessary credit.

Great Little Coding Tool

I used online videos and forum posts to guide me as I set up my VW Golf R Mk7.5 with good effect. I would caution that you should connect a battery charger while using this as the car shut off with a low battery message. I had to attach a battery charger to upgrade my ECU to a Stage 1 tune. It was a part of the tuners mandatory conditions and I now know why. The ECU is a power hog when you are recoding. I did spend a lot of time checking out all the settings so it probably would be fine for a quick tweak. I was at it for a good hour before the car switched off with a low battery message. My charger read it at a 60% charge so it likely would have still started I expect. The primary thing is I disabled the engine destroying Stop Start function. I saw a video where they replaced the rod bearings and set the car up on their test bed so it would stop and start continuously for 2 days to simulate a year of stop start driving. At the endt he bearings were all worn badly. They even showed some they had come out off a million mile car that were less worn. I'm tempted to replace my rod bearings now.
