OCBC by far the worst bank for service

OCBC May be a good reputable bank, bit it’s Indonesian arm would have to be ONE OF THE WORST IN ASIA. Their retail customer service under the name Tanya is simply a JOKE. they are very poorly trained and have no idea how to fix a problem. My case was to do with a money transfer that they rejected and charged me AUD20. The staff had no idea as to why it was rejected. I received the same silly email 12 times each time saying sorry for the inconvenience and I should call. Of course I did and it was like talking to a brick wall. No knowledge and totally helpless. I suggest you go to other banks. In my view BCA has excellent service and mobile Ap.
OCBC bought pt commonwealth bank and simply destroyed it. I doubt if any of CBA customers are still with OCBC. GOOD LUCK oCBC. You going to need it

Such an old-fashioned bank!! If I could have my business account on Revolut I would do it! OCBC is requiring to fill out a physical form and to present a physical passport just to change my mailing address. When other banks allow to do that online. Traditional banking should be careful as new digital banking is gaining market shares…

Worse relations managers ever in…

Worse relations managers ever in Damansara Utama uptown , I’ve seen the service deteriorate to just a bunch of young relations manager being rude to their customers in the premier. They only care about making the quick buck, make you feel like shit if you don’t go for their bond and stock schemes right away. The worse is Kaitlin, shitty attitude, don’t greet people, zero interest in helping resolve issues if she is not getting something right away out of it. How can OCBC expect people to invest and bring in more capital if they can’t trust them? So disappointing. You shouldn’t be in the service business if you are like this. There are better banks out there, please share if you know which bank have good customer relations.

Worst system ever - Don't open an account with OCBC

Worst system ever. Their SMS codes don't work, their emailing support doesn't work. Every single problem you have, you have to 2 hours drive to the bank or you will go in circles calling the bank customer service who can do absolutely nothing to help for the simplest problems like accessing your mobile banking or making payments.

Unless you want to waste your time daily doing simple banking, DO NOT open a bank account with OCBC.

A Gigantic Messy Experience with OCBC US International bank Draft

I had a bank draft drawn up in a Singapore OCBC bank to transfer the funds to a US Bank . When the draft was presented to the US Bank it was rejected .The US Bank said the fault was with OCBC. When this matter was brought up to OCBC Singapore in physical presence, I was told that it was not OCBC 's fault but they will investigate anyways. They will call me back but never did. I returned to see them in the next few days and again told they were investigating and they will call back . Surprise! Surprise !! they again never did . Meanwhile , the US recipient returned the draft through Fedex, costing USD 120 dollars. This draft was brought to OCBC for an explanation. They only then said that the recipient must get a letter from the US bank detailing why the draft was rejected before OCBC will entertain any queries. They claimed that the OCBC entry into the recipient bank was thrown out after an acceptance . No explanation was given to enlighten. After having to queue up at the bank each time to see the bank teller and each time being sent on a wild goose chase, and faced with stone walling and stalling tactics,I had enough ,and decided to cancel the whole draft . I will suffer losses for the charges levied in the buying of the draft, exchange rate costs and in the reversing of the process and the prevailing exchange USD-SGD rate . Bad experience from the customer service in their reluctance to be up front and delaying tactics to avoid direct engagement. OCBC deserves all the bad reviews reported here. Never ever again OCBC !!!!

OCBC Bank-It's the worst website I have logged on.

OCBC Bank website is the worst. The site is soooooo slow that one has to wait for 5 to 10 sec for any input to show results. In this day and age this is unacceptable, it reminds me of the days when I have to use dialed in mobile to connect to the internet. I have logged in a few times, and the results have always been the same, so cannot be a one-off event. I was forced to take this bank to pay for my car loan. I would never put money in this bank. Time for OCBC to wake up.

Singapore worst Bank OCBC

This is the first time I ever heard opening a bank account needs all my brothers and sisters names. And I have 7 siblings. OCBC Singapore Pasir Ris branch has got to be the worst bank I came across in my 58 years life. My business goes to another bank without hesitation.

Paynow rejected and transaction delayed by a day

Tried to do a Paynow transfer today with urgency. Received an SMS that the bank was unable to process the txn and to call the bank. A Mr Ivan started asking me a handful of questions right down to what exactly i am buying even though i explained the money was for my sibling, He then told me he will get the fraud team to release the funds. After half an hour he said it cannot be done because transaction was rejected and i need to activate one token and wait 12 hours. As a result my transaction was delayed by a day. Does the bank plan to compensate their clients for their losses or late penalties??? Never been so pissed with a bank. Totally absurd company!

OCBC 365 Visa Card

OCBC 365 Visa Card

I have recently applied the OCBC 365 Visa credit card however the Pierre Cardin luggage that was advertised as a complimentary gift for successfully applying for the OCBC 365 Visa credit card online (by month of March 25) and approved by April. My application was approved in 12/03/25 and I have yet to receive any updates upon checking with the bank they denied the offer but upon checking the promotion is still open on their website and the staff is not able to explain clearly what happened.

I applied for the card based on the promotion advertised on the OCBC website and I believe I have met all the eligibility criteria. However, the lack of communication and fulfillment of this promotion is disappointing and feels misleading.

OCBC Bank in Singapore is an extremely…

OCBC Bank in Singapore is an extremely untrustworthy institution. I live in China and hold a Chinese passport. Today, December 10, 2024, I received an email from them stating that because I am neither a Singaporean citizen nor a resident of Singapore, I am required to handle the funds in my bank account by December 15, or they will close my account.

One year ago, they actively came to mainland China to solicit customers, attracting people from mainland China to become their clients. When I opened my account through their online banking service, I followed all their requirements, submitting my Chinese passport and all necessary information. As required, I deposited at least 3,000 Singapore dollars along with other currencies.

Now, they are giving users only five days to manage their funds, blatantly violating the original account-opening principles and treating customers like cattle or dogs to be driven away in haste. This kind of behavior is utterly disgusting. I will never trust any Singaporean bank again!

OCBC Singapore rejected to compensate consumer's loss due to their negligence

This scam case happened in Oct 2021 in Singapore, my monetary loss is SGD47,500.00 which out from my OCBC account. Police case report No. is A/20211023/2044. When I reported the case to police, funds sitting in the receiving account which is a local OCBC a/c. After I reported the scam case to police, police gave instruction to OCBC Singapore to freeze the account. Unfortunately, the funds were transferred out from the receiving account(scammer’s account) after police gave instruction to OCBC to freeze, due to OCBC’s weak cyber security system and mechanism which lead to my loss, it’s OCBC’s fault and negligence. I had numerous communications with OCBC asking for compensation, reason being:

1. On 22 Oct 2021, I changed the transfer limit on OCBC digital app, after one hour it took effective; however, in other Singapore banks it need to take 24 hours to be effective.
2. There were total FOUR transactions on same day, no OTP required and all released immediately.
3. Scammer hacked OCBC system and sent email by using OCBC official email estatemenATocbc.com to acknowledge the transactions.
4. When I reported the case, funds sitting in the receiving account which is a local a/c. Then money got transferred out after police gave instruction to freeze receiving a/c. It is OCBC’s weak cyber security system and mechanism which lead to customers’ loss, it’s OCBC’s fault and negligence.

OCBC didn’t fully and completely execute police’s order and hold responsible & liable for consumer’s losses.
However, the way OCBC Singapore handling this case is really disappointing. OCBC denied everything and even tried to block my email from communicating with them.

Now I brought this case to FIDReC(Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre Ltd) which is a local mediation platform. The case No. is 2022/2861. I have raised lots of queries questioning how OCBC Singapore handled my case throughout the process, which resulting in my monetary loss. We communicated through FIDReC platform, and they kept delaying response to my queries which I raised on 30 Dec 2022. OCBC purely denied everything and refused compensation in Dec 2022.

As an established banking, OCBC Singapore need to follow corporate ethics, take corporate liabilities and responsibilities, compensate consumer’s loss of life saving, due to their fault and negligence.
