Holiday let business in York

Very professional was very easy to do business with.Customer service was excellent will definitely use Ocean lighting again for my holiday lets here in York.

Avoid this company

They take your money and hold onto it for as long as possible without delivering orders. Had to contact my bank in order to eventually get a refund. Please Avoid this company

Do not use Ocean Lighting

Ordered a pendant light and was advised 3-10 days delivery time but upon enquiry(they do not communicate willingly) i was told that it wasnt in stock and was coming from the manufacturer and would be a further 2 weeks. I went online, found the light almost half the price elsewhere and it was delivered direct from the manufacturer within 2 days, thus proving that their reason for the delay was bogus. Then advised that i would have to wait 14 days for a refund which still hasnt arrived. Avoid this business.

A gift not delivered on time.

Ordered a coffee table lamp as a house warming present. But was not delivered on time. No deliveries at the weekend apparently. Disappointing service not customer focused at all. Kept referring to a small print on the website about delivery days ,rather than owning the query and acting upon it. in 10 days a parcel can be delivered to almost anywhere in the world. But for not this company. I rang up to inquire and offered to pay extra to get delivered on time but was not able to help. Will not be using this company again.

Replacement bulbs sent out ASAP with no quibble
After a very long wait for my order, due to supplier issue and not ocean lighting, as a gesture ocean sent bulbs for my orders, one failed after only few hours use and they replaced it immediately.
I would definitely recommend this company

Easy to order and got an email…

Easy to order and got an email confirming and advising of likely delivery timescale. They said they would advise if later. Didn't receive the order, called them and one item was out of stock. I was frustrated they hadn't sent what they did have and let me know re the other part of the order. They did then send the in stock product quickly.

Do not order with this company

Do not order with this company, they are a scam. They have taken full payment over a month ago and still no lights. They don't answer the phone nor do they reply to emails. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you want to give away your money for nothing in return.

Terrible service

Ordered lampshades in July. By September not arrived so asked for refund. Still waiting despite emails. Will have to raise a dispute with my credit card company.

Have bought both online and in store…

Have bought both online and in store from Ocean lighting. Love Dar products and have arrived in post well packed in good condition and inshore was helped by very knowledgeable young man who sourced a Dar touch lamp for me.Many thanks.

Still no lights

Took my money on 26 August stating delivery would be 3-10 working days. It’s 3rd October, still no lights and zero communication. They don’t answer the phone or respond to voicemails and email replies take up to 72 hours!! Have rescheduled my electrician 3 times now. Latest email was to expect my lights w/c 2 October but still no despatch notification.
Am starting to wonder if they have gone bust??

Excellent experience with Ocean…

Excellent experience with Ocean Lighting. A lovely range of products and whilst what I ordered (2 x reading lights) wasn’t immediately in stock, I was communicated with well throughout, offered a very similar alternative which was slightly more expensive at no extra cost. I was kept well informed as to when the items would be dispatched and they were dispatched using a next day DPD service - in the end much sooner than originally said. Happy customer - will use again for the next round of lighting purchases for our new home. Thank you.

Very satisfied

We ordered two overhead lights from Ocean Lighting and one of them has many very delicate hanging glass droplets. A small number of these had been damaged in transit and so we quickly used up the spares. Connor at the showroom has ensured that these are now replaced and so we are quite satisfied with the service we have received. The light fitting is a real feature of the room and looks fantastic.

Go anywhere else

There are many other competitive lighting shops online. You would be well advised to choose from any of them over Ocean Lighting. I waited 2 months for my items to be delivered and upon giving up, waited for a refund which was not the 14 working days I had been promised it would take to process. I think they were hoping I would forget or give up. Really poor way to run a business.

Spare part to replace broken globe
I found the item I wanted on the website and asked for a price which was acceptable. I was given the quote, but unable to order direct as it was a part, not a new product. Tried phoning without success and eventually Connor sorted it out by sending an invoice which I paid online. Pleased with the item. Thank you.
