A Sailors Compass? Joke...

They said they were designing a navigators compass. What they did is make a nice brass case, but the compass inside was totally worthless. The pointer was not balanced so the tail rode the inside of the clear enclosure. Then they told me I had to remagnetize the needle... Why? I mean, since the needle doesn't float, what's the point of remagnetizing?

When was the last time you bought a compass and had to magnetize your own needle?
Avoid this junk at all costs.

Their compass was completely useless…

Their compass was completely useless (cheap plastic with needle that found several norths), though housed in a semi-decent brass case. When reported, received instructions on "how to use it properly". Which felt incredibly arrogant as i doubt compasses would be the new "hip" product with the indoor bound halfwits. Like, seriously, the assumption was that perhaps I didn't think of taking it outside to test................

Their kickstarter page is riddled with comments saying the same, we're talking hundreds if not thousands - and their response is still "send a picture" and "it went through quality control" and "don't use it near the electronics".

Jokesters.
