Do not pay extra for the extended…

Do not pay extra for the extended warranty options/insurance.
Purchased a Doom Edition PC 18 months ago for my nephew's 13th Birthday (£1158).
Also paid for the 3 years insurance, the top one.
No end of problems with the build, usb header hadn't even been plugged in, then he was having constant issues with the PC crashing.
Overclockers took it back and kept it for ages, (he didn't have it for a large portion of his Summer holidays, he didn't complain once), when he eventually got it back it soon started acting weird again but he got on with it as was desperate to play some actual games.
Then the lan port stopped working permanently, I just got him a network card as I couldn't bare to take it away from him again.
Now the motherboard and graphics card are both playing up, never really been right.
Overclockers UK will not deal with their insurance company and advised that was our job, okay fine.
This computer is 18 months old with the premium cover.
The Berlin based insurance company has said it must have the original box (ridiculous), not only that but they must have a serial number which does not exist from OCUK.
So we now will have to buy new and expensive components elsewhere at an extreme cost during a chip shortage.
He just went half-term without it again, really broke my heart, was his first PC and it has done nothing but let him down.
I could have easily built him this PC for less cost, but we wanted the insurance cover for him.
Your company is a joke, looking around that doesn't seem to be a secret.

This company is one to AVOID

This company is one to AVOID.
Owned by EU foreign company caseking.
They are very bitter, unhappy with Brexit and rather than adapting they seem to be taking out their snowflaking on the customers. Terrible lies. Stock never available. Rude customer service and every single time I’ve recently attempted to order something it was delayed when it was apparently in stock.
I went to their user forum to ask what was going on. I asked a few questions and a forum admin banned me … total planks.

Utterly useless and liars to boot!

Another company with template apologies and no sense of customer service. Ordered an item, got a confirmation email then they cancelled my order. I called and asked them about it and they fed me some rubbish about a testing there website! So now you are using customer credit card details to test your website, full of you know what...

Price gouging on Nvidia cards

OCUK, along with some other notorious tech etailers in the UK, have been shamelessly jacking the prices of the limited amount of latest gen Nvidia cards to way above mrrp, taking advantage of the current supply issues to scalp customers and make a quick buck. They do not deserve your current or future business. Avoid.

Bought and paid for a GPU in September and since then I have had minimal updates and as I do not have hours to spare I cannot get through on the phone. Yesterday I was on hold for 59 minutes and was then cut off.

I have cancelled via email - terrible service and no communication

How to lose a BUYER in 1 minute

Says on website call for price only to be mocked when you call "well why dont you just have a look online?"... If the price was online I wouldn't be ringing you and now I'm online I wont be ordering from you either. The smug twerp on the end of the phone, I was calling with my card in hand for a GTX1080ti and I was treated like an idiot and provided one word answers, so I left card in hand.... balance remaining.

Judgemental, Rude Company

Actually deeply insulted my wife because she created an account from home and they accused her of creating duplicated accounts ( my account is of course from the same house ).
Insult my wife then you insult me OCUK. We will not use you again.

Why 5? Read on!

Why 5? Well, we all want trouble free transactions, whether it be here or amazon or .... But the truth is the more complicated the item is, the more it can be a hassle, i.e a skirt or a pair of trousers over a new chip with a m/board and memory can sometimes be a hand full, no comparison.

I have dealt with this company for over 10 - 15 yrs. Have used others but I always seem to come back here. Some complainers do not always know what they are talking about, not being rude, but i do have a lot of knowledge about computers. Have been building them since the old 286 days.

You got to remember they are suppliers not the makers of the parts you buy! Any of them out there, Scan, Amazon ... will have there fair share of returns - RMA's

Now I have been fortunate OCUK over the years with my parts until Skylake came along where 2 boards went back, and now with Ryzen, I am on my second m/board now but its a blessing, using it now, a giga micro board as the other was another brand ..... What I am trying to say all my RMA's have been hassle free and that is where this company shines.

A pet hate of mine with others companies i have used before is selling you a part that is ' NOT ' in stock but they led you to believe it is. And you end up waiting days before they arrive, oh yes it does go on!

Just remember if you are the type that jumps on new architecture soon as it comes out, I am guilty of it , expect teething troubles. And always speak clearly as I had ordered a mounting to go with my Noctua cooler for the Ryzen build and they sent the wrong one! Guess who flipped and was cussing down the phone at them, I and they were not kind words. Guys I was so looking forward to build my computer over the weekend the other week! Have to laugh about it now, but i was quick to ring back and say sorry!

Nial, Alex, Alec and the rest of you, thanks for your inputs and outputs when calling. This is one review you really deserve!

So there you have it, a review as I see it, a non cowpack one, but an honest one and that's why I stay with this company.

Very poor quality high end builds!

I've purchased numerous items from ocuk which to begin with was an okay-ish experience as they dealt with the problems to a satisfactory level, but it all became apparent just what company I was dealing with on my latest issue.
My first PC build had numerous issues from the start and QC was poor to say the least with problematic video cards and water leaks in 4 fittings. Bad advice as to which parts were needed to fix it and the obvious problems that come with a coolant leak on a £4,000 pc.
I replaced this pc only to have my graphics cards set on fire which was down to, once again, poor QC and workmanship as there was thermal pads missing on the water blocks. This could have been a very serious issue and it was lucky that I was there to witness the incident.
I stupidly thought to myself that the problems would be in the past and they would have learned from them so a year or so later I purchased another very expensive pc.
How stupid was I ? The moment I received it I could see glue and dirty smears of dried glue all over the clear tubing and the fittings. The tubing was nowhere near straight and the bad angles stuck out like a baboons backside. I had to rebuild the whole water loop and buy a lot more fittings to make it work properly and look the way it should have. How this was sent out in this state, especially after having all my other issues, was completely dumbfounding. The glue was still soft so hadn't been cured and was soaking up the coolant and turning matt instead of clear.
Then there was an issue with my Ultrawide Curved monitor which I reported to them within a couple of days of purchase. I kept the monitor at this time agreeing with the technical department that if the problem I was experiencing persisted in the future that ocuk would swap the monitor for another model. This was then denied when the problem came back with a vengeance and the responsibility was passed onto Dell to get the problem fixed because they had no record of the initial report. You'd think after spending somewhere in the region of £15,000 with this company over the last couple of years, trusting them to build my pc's with my hard earned money, that they would have been able to show the same trust in me and honour the agreement that was arranged. I would not have kept the monitor at the time had I thought they would go back on their word. There was a principal involved here and I'm a man of my word and I expected them have the same principals.
A bit of advice for anyone who still makes a purchase after reading this: Please make sure you get names and reference numbers if you ever have a problem to report.
Never again will I buy from them, I've learnt the hard way.

2. RMA is a joke usually with rude staff who think they no it all

Very good

Just purchased all the components for my first build. Had a slight problem when they sent me a 2 pin cable instead of 3 pin cable for my PSU, but it was solved near instantly as soon as I got in contact. Extremely satisfied.

Misleading time limit offers

I bought a graphics card following one of their time limited offers only to find that they had the same card on another time limited offer a few days later for an even cheaper price. Their policy is not to honor a price change in this situation and TBH I felt fobbed off through their correspondence. My advise is to buy elsewhere for an honest price, as even though delivery was prompt, outside of an offer it is expensive and not exceptional.

Simply the best

Nvidia gtx 970 4gb memory issues, the sad news has been posted all over the net, customers misled/misinformed about what they would be getting for their hard earned money, the cards, though good up to a point, become "gimped" once they start using more than 3.5 gb of the memory available.
Step up Overclockers .co.uk,this company,as far as I'm aware even now,are the ONLY etailer that is offering customers who bought from this range of graphics card off them a FULL,and UNCONDITIONAL refund on their purchases.
Something they do not have to do,as they are not at fault in any way,the fault lies firmly at the door of Nvidia themselves.
Honesy, integrity, and customer sevice way beyond what is required of them puts them head and shoulders above any other computer/computer components supplier anywhere in the land.
I am actually proud to be a customer, thats how good they are,and a special mention to Gibbo, and Bailey on their forums(the friendliest, most helpful I have subscribed to)for being so open, and helpful to those in need, often posting when NOT at work, thank you guys.

Overpriced plus they ignore RMA claims! Look elsewhere!

Overclockers.co.uk have bloated prices and then have the cheek to charge you a minimum of £10 for delivery. Don't mug yourself off, go elsewhere!

Also they'll ignore RMA claims and make you repeatedly hassle them. They take an age to do anything but take your money.

Very dissapointed with service

Bought Dell Ultrasharp U2311H 23” which is a premium priced monitor with extra warranty however it came faulty with a vertical line across the screen. I was trying to RMA the screen with OcUK however they refused any help and told me to contact Dell directly as they said that any RMA would be with Dell. Obviously I was very unhappy and stressed about the whole situation and at the end ended up with a refurbished screen from Dell as they told me that the screen was manufactured 6 months ago.
This is not the first time I was let down by OcUK, the first time was when I bought a full PC from OcUk many years ago which had a fault, eventually it got resolved but the whole situation took almost a month to resolve.
I’ve been bitten twice now so next time I will not purchase from OcUK again and will not recommend this shop ever again to any of my friends.
Don’t even try to call them, I have tried over 50 times and never got through, lines are always engaged.
Also any complains I have made with them were unanswered.

Great service

What can I say, competitive prices with extra offers due to weekly, daily and weekend of festive deals with the added bonus of potential free shipping for loyal forum members.

Any issues and help is always at hand with either a phone call, web note and even forum members or their own customer service section on their forums and always been dealt with far exceeding my expectations.
