I have had the same problem as others…
I have had the same problem as others mentioned. I only wanted to convert a photo for an ID and paid £0.50 . In fact that didn’t work. The following day I was charged £39.90. I thought that was a scam and cancelled my bank card, but really I would like my money back.
Even if it was all legal there was not clear information or prompting you to confirm that you would want to proceed with a subscription.

They tried to take my money too
OMG - Exactly the same happened to me. Paid 50p and then they tried to take £39.90 from my credit card. Had no idea I would have to pay this. Fortunately, The Co-op Bank declined the payment. However, I decided to cancel my credit card which is a pain although worth it as at least there's no risk they can take the money. I wish I had read the reviews before.

Don’t use them
Don’t use them. Deceptive. Hides policies and takes your money with no possibility of refund.

As Office-pdf still refused to…
As Office-pdf still refused to entertain a refund, I have now found another provider, where you pay only for the conversation without a subscription on the horizon. Sorted.

This product is a scam
This product is a scam. I've been trying to cancel a subscription I was sucked into without agreeing to it, and it's impossible to get it cancelled. Been paying £40 a month for months now. I thought I'd only be charged for one conversion, at no point it's made clear that I'm signing up for extortionate montly subscription. I mean, who on earth would agree to that? It's surreptitions and devious. And incredibly hard to cancel/get a refund. I'm still trying! CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION NOW! I also suggest contacting bank to inform them this charge isn't legit and stop payment that way.
There's no way of
a) knowing that one has been added to a £39 recurring montly subscritption
b) cancelling the subscription once realising it's a subscription not agreed to!
If that's not a scam I don't know what is!
Edit: oh look the same standard reply on all the posts. And the positive reviews look like the were written by paid up/fake reviewers. I have already tried to cancel - it's super hard. And I shouldn't have been lured into a monthly subscription in the first place! And then you make it impossible to cancel and refuse refunds.

What a rip-off
What a rip-off. Used to convert PDF to JPEG for 50p. READ THE SMALL PRINT CAREFULLY AS YOU ARE THEN CHARGED £39 AFTER 48 HOURS IF YOU DO NOT CANCEL.
DDI NOT USE UNLESS YOU CANCEL WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME.

This company is in-ethical
This company is in-ethical. They sign you up to a subscription that cannot be clearly seen upon paying the 50p fee for converting a document.
I have been contacting this company since early January and nothing.

BE VERY CAREFUL
Be very careful with this company. Did not reply to my reply. Stuck by their decision to keep my £39.95. Their replies to comments here are AI generated. You have to write a review before you get your document. This is probably why there are so many short ,"excellent" reviews for this company.
Definitely a company to avoid at all costs. Total scammers.
There you are. See their AI reply below. It's the reply everybody gets.
They are just after taking £39.95 from eveybody whose sight is not good who cannot read their T&Cs
DISGRACEFUL people. They just do not listen when you contact them

CATCHING PEOPLE OUT WITH UNETHICAL PRACTICE
Who in their right mind would pay £39.90 a month for this service!!! A one-off payment for 50p for the occasional document seems reasonable. Therefore, the 50p as a one off payment is in clear large print, while the SMALL PRINT IS THERE TO CATCH PEOPLE OUT WITH THE EXTORTIONATE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION. If the company made the VITAL SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION AS CLEAR, AS THE 50P FEE, PEOPLE WOULD NOT BE CAUGHT OUT.
VERY UNETHICAL PRACTICE, ESPECIALLY WHEN PEOPLE ARE STRUGGLING!!! ONLY CHECKED CREDIT CARD SPENDING YESTERDAY, £39.90 LOST!!😢

Shocking price
This ended up being a shocking price. I used for one conversion and it cost me 50p. What I didn't realise was that I then had to cancel a monthly subscription within 48hrs which I believe is not legal. I did try to cancel from within my account but it just spun, so I had to come out and email. A further £39.90 was taken which they refused to refund because it was a couple of hours over the 48hrs. I had to cancel at this point to avoid further monthly charges so it cost me £40.40 to convert one pdf. As I cancelled subscription early into month a couple of hours. I should be entitled to a refund minus a reasonable admin fee according to UK government website. Which also states you should have 14day cooling off period. I had to cancel immediately to ensure another month was not taken. However the company are saying no refund at all. At this price it will cost you £480 per 12 months. All I wanted was the promised one pdf converted. This was a very stressful costly experience. I will be making contact with the company on return from my holiday.

bad service
I paid 50p for a service which did not help me. The company took 39.99 for a service not even used. Very unhappy. Having spoken to them they said we cannot refund.

Convert my jpeg into pdf for 50p
Convert my jpeg into pdf for 50p, unaware that that 50p charge would automatically sign me up for a £39 monthly subscription. There was no confirmation before paying stating that the 50p charge would lead to a monthly subscription. Additionally, as I have seen with many other reviews they are 'unable' to refund you for this misleading charge. I did not know that £39.90 taken from my account, thank God i checked my bank statement otherwise it would be a disaster for me paying £39.90 without being awareness.

SCAM DONT USE. This company has horrible business…
This company has horrible business practices. They will scam you into a subscription fee of £39.90 by deceptively not telling you that using the service for 0.50p leads to a subscription and then when you call customer service they will use someone who has 0 empathy and will say “no refund”.

STAY AWAY-DO NOT USE
Seek other sites where you can convert your pdf files for free. This company will scam you into paying for a subscription you do not need. They thrive on the benefit of you forgeting to cancell the trial offer in 48 hours. When you get trapped in, all appeals for a refund will never be answered.Their customer service is wired for a 'no refund' policy.
