Ofgem Letting Us All Down

Ofgem have no interest in protecting consumers, only the broken system which arbitrarily informs energy pricing green or otherwise. If you work for this organisation I strongly consider you think about what you’re doing with your life.

Waste of time

Waste of time, no thoughts for the poor and vulnerable. This organisation only serves the energy companies and their shareholders. Don't pay uk website and don't pay 1st Oct

This price hike is a crime

This price hike is a crime. I don't know how they can sleep at night. Shame on all energy suppliers who make us bankrupt while they make huuuuge profits.

Ofgem is damaging customers to safeguard energy companies obscene profits

It is an outrage that Ofgem is allowing the prices of electricity and fuel to spiral out of control. There is no reason for this. The way Ofgem sets these prices is dubious at best, and energy companies have announced TRIPLICATE profits. Dreadful body, whose only raison d'etre seems to be assisting energy companies in bullying customers.

Disgusting and unforgivable

If I could give a no star review I would.. So tell me.. when people are having to choose between eating and heating..when someone dies or, god forbid, takes their own life.. will the shareholders feel guilty..will the energy companies drop prices? I just don’t understand how this has happened and how anyone can do this to people, young, old whatever.. working classes, middle classes .. we’re all going to struggle, some a lot more than others.. but struggle we will! Food, petrol, strikes.. this is not just down to the government.. this is greed, pure and simple! And, because we will all have to find a way to pay, we will make a rod for our own backs.. you know how it’ll go “ well you’ve managed OK so far” .. what will it take for someone somewhere to do something.. to help the hardworking people, the old, families who already find it hard to make ends meet.. now the world truly has gone mad

In 2021;
Germany got 55% of its gas from Russia
France got 17% of its gas from Russia
UK got 4% of its gas from Russia.

In 2022;
Energy prices in Germany have risen by 23%

Energy prices in France have risen by 4%

Energy prices in the UK have risen by 215%. PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS!

Don't let them tell you this is caused by anything other than greed-driven profit making.

This is scary too:

The new technology contained within smart meters means that suppliers can disconnect your supply remotely without visiting your home.

How can you people sleep at night!

This is Murder

I am disabled and elderly and I live on benefits. My partner has COPD and needs the house keeping at a constant temperature of at least 16 degrees Celsius.
We cannot afford the hiked prices.
Ofgem, why do you want my partner to die?

This company is supposed to protect…

This company is supposed to protect consumers but has clearly shown it is only interested in helping companies line their pockets. People are going to die while they gain from massive profits, a disgusting abuse of power and i'd give zero stars if that was an option

Spineless and pointless

What is the point of a regulator if does not regulate? It seems it's only purpose is to provide a revolving door for senior executives to switch between higher and higher paid jobs between in energy industry and the regulator, leaving the consumer to pick up the tab.

An utter waste of time and money.

The price increase for fuel will cause…

The price increase for gas and electricity will cause a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions. The catastrophic knock on effect to ever increasing price rises across the board will murder millions. Not only will people be unable to heat their homes they won't be able to afford food. Many will lose their small business and their jobs. Many will be made homeless. If I was cynical I would say this is all part of some nefarious plan.

Not happy

Not happy. Have paid bills for years. Scottish Power even took my £800 credit a few years back as I was overpaying on my direct debit. They agreed to refund me on the phone but somehow erased my account and later denied any such credit. Thieves - probably happened to hundreds of other hardworking people.

How can these companies be allowed to get away with it? How do they sleep at night?

Forget profits at a time when people have no extra cash to live.

Forgo your profits and let people live in peace.

Do your work OFGEM.

War = greed for almost every government…

War = greed for almost every government and company in the world. I’d say let’s not pay OfGem or our gas / electric companies and see what happens. Millions don’t pay then they’ll have no choice but to lower it by winter. Just greed since the war in Ukraine started

You’re pushing millions of us into fuel poverty. We self employed people, small companies, are dependent on people spending money - we are not going survive this winter because of the greed of energy companies. And you're supposed to protect people. #dontpayuk

Boycott Ofgem

Ofgem will be the death of many this winter because of the increases to our energy bills.

Shameful excuse for a ‘regulator’.

Would give zero stars if I could.
