Approaching 6 months with £100 of DWP held. Provided full evidence of the proof of funds. Same automated email recycled over and over when you have the cheek to enquire.
Avoid at all costs awaiting update from the financial ombudsman this week.

PLEASE AVOID OHENTPAY BY ALL MEANS. I wish someone warned me.
I have had a few issues trying to send money to my naira account in the past. As a result, I stopped using them for over a year. It was my husband who mentioned them this time. I don't know why I even listened to him, given my previous bad experiences.
I paid into the account without any problems, however, when I tried to send to my husband's parents, who needed the money urgently, I was told that I've been restricted from sending money. I reached out to them.
Firstly, they said there was an ongoing address verification process and asked me to send a bank statement, council tax or utility bill to verify my address. I sent what was easily accessible, my bank statement. However, before doing that I mentioned how they should have informed me of this process prior to my crediting the account. They lied that they sent an email to all customers. I checked my email and saw that I never received that I email. I fed this back to them and they apologised casually.
Next, they requested 3 months payslip or 3 months salary account statement. I told them that I couldn't provide that as I am a stay at home mum.
Then, they requested for 3 months bank statement. At this point I expressed my frustration and how I am afraid to give them any further information. I also asked them to list the process it will take to get my money back, so I know what I am dealing with. They have refused to do that. I still need the money which they have refused to refund to my original payment method.
I have now read reviews on Google playstore and trustpilot and have seen that many people have experienced similar issues with them. One person is yet to get her money after 7 months, which sounds scary, as my in-laws needed the money last week. I do not have any other money to give them.
The aim of this post is to warn everyone, because I really wish someone warned me and that I saw the online reviews before making that mistake.

Where do I even start? This bank has left me in a situation where I can’t even find the words to explain.
On Monday the 30th march 2026 I made two transfer to a savings account provider, previously I made the same transfers which went through fine. However, this time OhentPay held the payments in processing for days and kept telling me ‘ they are waiting on their banking partners to approve the transactions which they confirmed over and over it would be approved with no issues.
I kept messaging for an update as I urgently needed access to my funds. ( funds that I had originally transferred into my OhentPay pay account from my own bank by the way) days pass and they kept sending me scripted messages such has they are actively waiting etc….
Today, 3rd April 2026 I received notifications that the transactions had failed and credited back to my OhentPay account . I was very confused so I tried to send my money back to my back account and they then restricted my account from making payments.
OhentPay deliberately restricted my ability to send out transfers as they are trying to steal my money.
I still can’t believe they restricted me like I’m the bad guys in all of this. I simply wanted to get my money out and closed this stupid bank.
I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH OHENTPAY. if you want stress and have your money locked up then be my guest.
It’s now 6 days in and I’m still yet to have access to my money. Please stay away from these thieves, look at all the reviews, they clearly speaks for itself.
I will not stop until I get my money from these scammers.

Transactions are prompt and secure and there's no compromise on its set security standards regardless of which consultant deals with the customer. I speak from experience.

Everybody stay well away from these scammers. I had a payment coming into my account, and it's been over 2 weeks and still unavailable. They've made me send loads of personal documents (although I had already done on boarding KYC) and they insisted that I'd obtain a copy of the passport of the person that sent me the money and forward to them. Stay well away

I haven't used this service for a while, but I couldn't easily access other channels one day and decided to try them. I DEEPLY regret it, after allowing me to send money to the account they informed me that I'm restricted from making transactions. Isn't this something you provide a notification for beforehand? I don't even know why I'm restricted, no one is responding to me on both in chat and email. I'm just regretting ever trying them again. I won't make that mistake ever again.

Ohentpay has blocked my account and my money has not been refunded. It has been seven months and they keep saying the same thing: the refund period is 8-12 weeks, but it may take longer. It's been seven months and nothing has changed. How long do I have to wait to get my money back?
