I honestly didn’t think this kind of…

I honestly didn’t think this kind of experience was possible. We were travelling with an infant in the family, yet we were initially refused a bassinet seat unless we paid extra. This was extremely disappointing, especially considering that most other airlines provide bassinets free of charge as a priority for passengers with babies.
After escalating the issue to senior check-in staff, we eventually managed to get a bassinet seat. However, the situation only got worse from there. Our family was split up across the cabin, with me seated 16 rows away from my wife and our three children. This is completely unacceptable when travelling with young kids.
What made it even more frustrating was that there were empty seats next to my wife after boarding had been completed. Despite this, staff still refused to allow us to sit together as a family. There was no reasonable explanation given.
Overall, the entire experience felt disorganised, inflexible, and unnecessarily focused on extra charges. It came across as a money-driven approach rather than prioritising customer care and basic family needs.
A very disappointing experience.

in convenience due to mis information

Dear Oman Air Customer Service Team,

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the handling of my recent travel experience. My second flight from Muscat to Doha was cancelled without any prior notification. I only became aware of this after making multiple calls to your offices in Muscat, Chennai, and even the Chennai airport office. During these interactions, I was incorrectly informed that all flights between Muscat and Doha were cancelled until April 15 asked to cancel the full flight. However, at the last minute, the Doha office confirmed that flights were operating daily in the morning.

As a result, I was forced to accept a 12-hour layover instead of the originally scheduled 5 hours, causing significant inconvenience and disappointment. At Muscat airport, I received no support from the helpdesk, and despite the extended layover, no lounge access was provided, with the explanation that I was not eligible. This lack of assistance and comfort is unacceptable, especially since the schedule changes were initiated by Oman Air.

I have travelled with Oman Air many times,(was resident of Oman) but this is the first time I have experienced such poor service and misinformation from customer service offices in Muscat and Chennai. The absence of clear communication, incorrect information, and refusal to provide basic comfort measures reflect very poorly on the airline’s commitment to customer care.

I request a formal acknowledgment of this issue, an explanation for the misinformation provided, and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience caused. I trust Oman Air will take responsibility and ensure such lapses do not occur again.

Sincerely,
Alagammai kasi

Charged $1,500, received absolutely nothing.

I booked a flight from Muscat to Munich in early March 2026 during an urgent situation in the Middle East. Oman Air charged my card $1,498.86 — and that's where the service ended. No booking confirmation. No e-ticket. No itinerary. Nothing.

I called their support immediately. They acknowledged the issue and told me to request a refund by email. I did. No response. I sent a follow-up with a deadline. No response. It has now been over a month and I have not received a single reply from Oman Air.

They took my money, delivered nothing, and then went completely silent. I had to open a chargeback dispute through my bank just to have any chance of getting my money back.

Avoid at all costs. If something goes wrong, you're on your own.

INTERNATIONAL CONSUMER LAW DOESN'T WORK AT ALL!

On 21 March 2026 I arrived at Riyadh Airport with my wife and 3 year old daughter to board our confirmed flight to Colombo via Muscat. Our tickets had been cancelled by the airline's own automated system without our knowledge, consent or notification. We were denied boarding. No alternative flight was offered. No refund has been received.

The airline's own system log confirms the cancellation was an AUTO DISASSOCIATION — an automated system action — not initiated by me. Oman Air sent me a check-in reminder on 20 March 2026, one day after the alleged cancellation, proving my booking was still active.

I filed formal complaints with CAA Oman and Saudi GACA. CAA Oman confirmed in writing that as Colombo is my final destination, the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka is the competent authority. I attach their written response for your reference.

Extremely poor customer service and misleading product delivery

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Oman Air has been so consistently disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others.

I booked a multi‑leg journey specifically because the booking page stated that I could select seats. In reality, I was only able to select a seat on 1 out of 6 legs. As I wrote in my refund request: “you are not delivering what I paid for.”

When I attempted to resolve this, the customer service experience became even worse:
- I emailed websalesrefund(at)omanair.com five times with no response.
- The Danish support phone number listed on their website does not work.
- Their online chat support is either unavailable or unresponsive.
- When I finally received replies, they simply bounced me between departments. One email told me to contact the call center; another told me to contact refunds; another told me to call an expensive international number.

- Even after submitting the official refund form, I received nothing but automated messages and contradictory instructions.

One of their own emails even stated: “Please be advised that Oman Air Call Center is the concerned department for your issue.” Yet the refund team later insisted that cancellation charges would apply unless I called them directly—despite the fact that I had already explained that calling an international number is not reasonable when the airline fails to respond through normal channels.

At this point, I have lost all trust in Oman Air’s ability to deliver the product they advertise or provide basic customer service. I strongly recommend that travellers think twice before booking with Oman Air, especially if you expect reliable support or transparency.

Worst experience ever with an airline

We are 5 people of which two minors, with departure planned very soon. Seen the international, current situation, the Foreign Ministry of our country, Italy, classified Oman as a "highly not recommended" country, for travelling to. Omanair refused to refund our tickets and is asking us €90 per pax, for a rebooking. The customer service phone line is nearly useless as they do not answer the phone most of the time. No empathy, no understanding, just a "no is no" attitude. Worst experience ever with an airline. Alessia, Rome, Ita

Worst helpdesk ever!

Omanair doesn't keep its promises..They offered a refund, we agreed but never paid until now. Their online customer service is horrible, nobody can say or do anything. Don't waste time in emailing them. You never get a response. Worst airliner in the Middle East

Baggage stuck for 2 weeks, zero response from Oman Air

My baggage (PIR FRAWY10083) has been sitting in Muscat for over two weeks without any movement or update.

AirTag tracking clearly shows that the bag has remained at the exact same location in Muscat the entire time, which means it has not been processed or assigned to any flight.

I contacted Oman Air’s CBT team multiple times since March 18 and have not received a single response. Network Support keeps sending the same template reply, referring back to CBT, which never responds.

During a transit in Muscat, a staff member even tried to locate the bag, confirming it is physically there, but it was not possible to retrieve it in time.

I have never experienced such a complete lack of communication and responsibility from any airline. As a frequent flyer, this is by far the worst customer service I have encountered.

At this point, Oman Air has completely failed to handle a basic baggage issue.

I strongly advise others to reconsider flying with this airline.

Such a shame

Such a shame. They are so nice on the phone but after promising to refund a flight I cancelled they have not paid or responded despite numerous calls to their centre and emails. Even the complaint form on their website doesn't work. Really simple things make a difference.

Do not under any circumstances use this airline, god forbid you have a medical emergency and need to change your return date, they hang up calls and when you do eventually get through they give you an email address that they don’t reply too, as I said previously do not under any circumstances use this airline!!!

Unacceptable Response in a Time of Crisis

Title:
Unacceptable Response in a Time of Crisis

Review:
We were scheduled to fly with Oman Air on March 15 but were forced to cancel due to severe security risks, including repeated drone attacks and ongoing destruction in the region. Under such circumstances, taking the flight was simply not an option.

Despite this, Oman Air has provided no meaningful response, no assistance, and has refused a refund. This is not only disappointing—it is unacceptable. Denying a refund while ignoring the reality of a dangerous and unstable situation shows a complete lack of responsibility and basic customer care.

A company’s true standards are revealed in times of crisis. Here, Oman Air has failed.

Never book with this airline

Never book with this airline - use any of the much better Gulf Carriers who have a customer service and care about their passengers and keep them updated and actually respond - this airline ripped my daughter off after she had to cancel her university trip due to the current situation in the gulf and only gave a partial refund and have never sent her any information or responded to any correspondence - they are a disgrace and you can us so many better airlines.

Flight on March 14 2026 BKK-London via Muscat

Flight on March 14 from Bangkok to London via Muscat.I am EU citizen. The check in agent at Suvarnabhumi Airport wanted an ETA to visit the UK from me. I have settled status-Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), or settled status, is the right to live and work permanently in the UK, free from restrictions associated with immigration control. The check in agent did not want to, did not understand and still wanted an ETA to visit the UK from me. explanation. He threatened not to let me on the plane. So he forced me to download the ETA to visit UK application and pay 16 pounds. It's not about money, but about a very stressful hour of my life. The employee didn't want my explanation. Very bad experience with Oman air.

NEVER FLY THIS AIRLINE!!

Oman Air cancelation options are ridicilious !

So i was supposed to fly with Oman via Muscat to Dubai between March 3 and March 17 2026 after the war broke out between Iran and US/Israel i tried contacting Oman Air multilple times to ask for a refund because obviously it was way to dangerous to fly to the middle-east during these times ..... Oman Air NEVER canceled the flight and i lost more then half of the total costs of the tickets

I never got a apology and never got a compensation this airline is absolutley terrible and i reccomend nobody to fly this airline ever ! They dont care if you get stranded in the middle-east aslong as they get their money you paid for for a flight you could never board for your own saftey.

Unpleasant, hostile cabin crew

Flight from Phuket tu Muscat- from the very first moment on board you are under impression that whole cabin crew is miserable & very unhappy with their job. No proper greeting, no smile, not making feel welcome. Whole flight very slow service- around 40 minutes took to food cart to reach our seats- food was barely worm at that point- when asked about wine or beer with the meal crew stated that serving only soft drinks because all non soft drinks are out of stock - is that new policy???
No announcements from the flying deck . Only positive thing- fly was on time. I will try to avoid Oman air in future

BE AWARE THEY DON'T OFFER PASSENGERS RIGHTS IN CASE OF DELAY OR CANCELLATION

Horrible experience. They don't follow passengers rights even though part of One world! They also claim to be part of CAA Oman but they also not helpful! If they cancel a flight, or delay a flight, BE AWARE they won't reimburse your costs, won't offer any help with accommodation, food and transportation! Oman is a beautiful country but this airline is the worst airline i have encountered! 5 MONTHS SINCE THE INCIDENCE AND NO RESPONSE ON CLAIMS! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS
