Sadly I have to make my feelings known
I used On Cue Removals Ltd, run by Alfie, for a house clearance following my mother’s death. We paid good money expecting a professional, fully managed service as advertised on their website. That is not what we received.
Only one person turned up to carry out the clearance. I ended up having to physically assist over the course of the week just to get the job done, which is not what you expect when paying for a removals and clearance service.
A sideboard was also damaged during the move. To be fair, some compensation was paid, but the overall handling was careless.
The biggest issue was whathappened afterwards. On Cue arranged storage for the items but then stopped responding completely when issues arose. Calls and messages went unanswered, and I was left to deal with the storage company alone.
At one stage, I was even led to believe the business had ceased trading, only for them to reappear later. This created further confusion and made an already stressful situation worse. It was particularly frustrating as I had potential further work, including European jobs, that I would have considered giving them.
This was nearly a year ago, so hopefully standards have improved since, but based on my experience there was poor organisation, inadequate staffing, and no meaningful follow-up once payment had been taken.
I would not recommend based on what I experienced. If you do use them, make sure everything is clearly agreed in writing and do not rely on post-job support.
