Ilkley ornate console table disapointment
I bought an Ilkley ornate console table priced at just over £1000. I shopped around and whilst generally more expensive than other similar products I went with this company.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. Once assembled it looks ok but the underlying quality and construction is very cheap and certainly not worth the price . I would have returned it before assembling but the delivery people took all the packaging away. If you are only bothered about looks then it’s fine, but if you want quality then avoid.

I recently purchased a marble top coffee table from One.world during a promotional sale and, while initially pleased with my purchase, I am compelled to share my disappointing experience with both the product quality and customer service.
The Positive Start
The ordering process was straightforward and user-friendly. I must commend the delivery team, who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and care, taking great precautions to protect both the product and my property during installation.
The Problem Emerges
During my initial inspection and routine cleaning of the marble surface, I discovered a significant imperfection along the leading edge of the table. Upon closer examination, it became evident that damage had been poorly concealed using what appeared to be basic white filler—a completely unacceptable solution for a premium marble piece.
Customer Service Failures
My experience with One.world's customer service proved deeply frustrating:
Delayed Response: After providing photographic evidence as requested for their "specialist assessment," I received no follow-up communication and was forced to send multiple chasing emails.
Deflected Responsibility: When contact was finally re-established, blame was immediately shifted to the manufacturer, with no acknowledgment of One.world's quality control failures.
Limited Solutions: I was offered only a refund with collection or a gesture of refunding delivery costs, as replacement stock was unavailable.
Dismissive Attitude: Subsequent correspondence adopted a "take it or leave it" approach, with the implication that I should be grateful for any resolution given the sale pricing.
Unprofessional Communication: One email arrived completely unsigned, reflecting the same lack of attention to detail evident in their quality control processes.
Overall Assessment
This experience has highlighted significant deficiencies in One.world's quality assurance procedures and customer service standards. The suggestion that reduced expectations should accompany sale items is particularly concerning—a damaged product remains a damaged product regardless of pricing.
While the delivery service excellence deserves recognition, the poor product quality, inadequate damage concealment, delayed responses, responsibility deflection, and dismissive customer service approach have left me thoroughly disappointed with my overall experience.
Would I recommend One.world? Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this retailer to others seeking quality furniture and reliable customer service.
