They Bill For Work After Cancellation of service didn't show up for 5 weeks…
Lawn service didn't show up for 5 weeks - no response from company. One of the reasons they cited for the no show was "raining" and it hadn't rained in Dallas for over a month. I cancelled six months ago - they still bill my CC every month. I left messages, sent emails, and even a letter thru the mail. The website said you can cancel at anytime without penalty but they ignore all communication and never answer the phone or emails. The business address is a million dollar home in the suburbs. I would be cautious before giving them your credit card info.
Charged for Non-Existent Service
I've been getting notifications for weeks that I scheduled mowing service that I didn't order. I've submitted multiple support emails and tickets and I've now been charged for a service I never ordered nor received. I can't get a response back!
Careless, property damages, followed by poor customer service.
OneNeighbor sent careless workers to mow my yard. They pushed through my gate, scratched my fences, scalped the ground, broke the gutter splash block, and damaged the surface of concrete pad for my trash bin. Meanwhile, patches of grass were left untouched, and there was no trimming done at the end. It looked like a 5th-grade student had mowed my yard.
When I contacted wecare@oneneighbor. com, they asked me to provide photos as proof. I sent the photos, but since then, I have received no response from anyone. I canceled the service on the Neighbor app, yet they are still trying to charge me a cancellation fee after ignoring my emails.
This type of business behavior is unprofessional, greedy, and somewhat feels like a scam!
You get what you pay for. A low price often reflects low quality. That's the bottom line.
They did a great job
They did a great job, even though the lawns were slightly wet. Thank you.
Horrible!
Unreliable service. Was on a biweekly schedule and service suddenly stopped with no explanation. My account has been on “pending assignment” for over a month now. Repeated attempts to contact customer service have gone unanswered.
Overcharged and terrible customer service
Their service makes you agree to a double charge for tall grass, yet they allowed a vendor to charge us triple with no appeal. Their customer experience manager is rude and condescending. I used to like this company. What happened?
Incorrectly Billed
I get service every two weeks. My last service date scheduled 7/5 was cancelled due to “equipment issues” and rescheduled for 7/12. When the lawn was serviced, I was assessed a $66 tall grass fee in addition to the regular rate. I shouldn’t be charged a fee for the providers equipment issues. I have emailed and tried to contact through the app and left voicemails, but received no response.
Update: their customer service department
Reached out and removed the tall grass fee. Changing my review to four stars because other than the few times service has been rescheduled or they’ve had to find a new provider, the service is reliable.
Disappointed
Poor reliability. My lawn was finally mowed after the first contractor didn’t show up -twice-. I asked for another, they came as promised but missed spots and didn’t fully edge. A kiddo could have done the same. I wonder if the company even vets the contractors.
Avoid at all costs!
I used to have, until today, the lawn mowing service through them. The provider assigned to me kept coming up with reasons to postpone the service and was constantly 2-3 days late. This time it was 3 separate delays and got pushed a week. Not worth the $10 I was saving by using them. I also tried the lawn weed service but the provider for that delayed several times and I finally just cancelled and found a much better service for less than one neighbor was going to charge. Do yourself a favor and find a local service that will show up.
Unreliable providers and poor…
Unreliable providers and poor communication are the bedrock of this company. Do yourself a favor and partner with a local provider directly.
I requested leaf clean up
I requested leaf clean up. I let OneNeighbor know before they scheduled anyone that the date would need to be agreed because the service provider would need access to the backyard. I reminded them when they scheduled w/o my consultation. I was told that was too bad. Nothing they can do. OK, well I can dispute any charge to my card.
The mower scalps the grass
Grass is scalped by the scythe. Regarding cleanup, he performed inadequately. Furthermore, upon terminating the service, I am promptly billed $30.00 for an unnecessary charge. They are free to retain the $30. Perhaps these negative evaluations will put them out of business eventually.
Good concept/EPIC FAIL‼️OneNeighbor…
Good concept/EPIC FAIL‼️OneNeighbor hires crews that are highly incompetent AND don’t ShowUp or make up lies to avoid mowing your lawn. Check BBB and read complaints!!
Pay same price and book yourself or waste your money here. 1) Bad 2) No Shows I’m legally CANCELLING!
Scam
So, took about 3 weeks or so for someone to come out. Once someone actually comes, he decides to mow my neighbors grass that was 12 inches high so they could charge the long grass fee. Then, he failed to mow the edges. Paid 125 because their first assigned guy had 'equipment' issues then scheduled the next almost another week thereafter.
Either buy your lawnmower, or get an actual individual bc neither Lawnstarter, nor One neighbor is worth it.
One neighbor makes very difficult for…
One neighbor makes very difficult for the customer to cancel the services. That the way they do business.
They did an ok job
They did an ok job, but when I was notified the day before the service I canceled because of the drought kept my lawn low, so it did not need mowing. They charged me the $15 cancelation fee, when they booked the day before? Crazy!
Ruined my yard.
I have been in the landscape industry since 1998. I’m familiar with the difficulties in scheduling when considering equipment failures and the weather impact. So most of the other complaints wouldn’t bother me. I used this service for my house and my mothers. My mothers house is fescue and St Augustine. Mine is just St Augustine. My yard was scalped once, and I fired them. I let them continue at my mothers, and complained multiple times regarding the mow height there as well, hopefully allowing them to fix the problem instead of me having to mow until I found a replacement service. The last complaint didn’t receive a response other than “we are looking for a new provider for you.” They have already replaced multiple crews for scalping and leaving three foot tall weeds in the beds. You can say the dont do beds, but it would take a half a second to cut that weed down while line trimming the bed edge right next to it. The side yard has a diagonal mow line instead of following the property line like every other sane person on the planet. And after working my tail off to propagate fescue in a heavily shaded lawn and St Augustine in the sunny spots, the grasses are ruined now for cutting at a height meant for Bermuda. You say not everyone is familiar with different grass height requirement? Try that in my large commercial landscape company, and I would fire you on the spot and keep your paycheck to repair the damage. And I would repair the damage no mater the cost, not shrug it off like One Neighbor has. I won’t receive a dime though. I’ll have to start repairing my mothers yard again this fall. This is why I predict a short life span for One Neighbor. Que the auto generated BS apology from One Neighbor….
bad service, bad customer service …
Same here first cut was suppose to be 18.99 they charged me 42.00 gave me some lame excuse about the date I chose. The customer service is awful, they will do anything to keep your money. I reached out to my credit card company for a resolution. They missed a whole section on my grass. just pitiful
Constantly cancelling and rescheduling jobs.
Well, first maybe you need more provider's for your company. Second, how do you stay afloat when the lawn mowing jobs get cancelled repeatedly and last maybe you need to pay the peeps doing the work more for incentive to get the job done.
Great job!
The gentleman was very meticulous and took his time to make sure everything was done right.
