This store was such a delight. David — the gentleman who served us — was incredibly helpful, and we absolutely loved the concept. Knowing that everything is sourced from people who can genuinely benefit from the income makes it feel even more special, and they had some truly darling things.

I would definitely go back next time I’m in Woodstock. We’d just come from the bookshop next door, where the lady was, shall we say… extraordinarily unpleasant and curt, so walking into this store and being met with such kindness and warmth from David was a really refreshing change.

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and clearly committed to their cause — which made the whole experience even more lovely.

I bought four bars of this soap, and for a spend of over £20 was expecting something quite good. On opening the first bar it smelled slightly of sandalwood. This scent lasted for two or three days but did not transfer to my skin. After that the soap smelled of horse manure for a couple of days, and then nothing. Wish I could give this product zero stars.

Ive been buying from them since the 90's, mostly their wonderful incense. They never fail to be great quality and very efficient; you can even choose the combination of incense you want and they are often with you in 48 hours. Plus you will be supporting people in India.

Excellent ethical company with diverse range of crafts and products. Bought a number of different items including soaps, cushions and vases. Reasonably priced and excellent quality. Always well packed and fast delivery. Would recommend.
Only suggestion is the website could be easier to use and navigate, a little dated in appearance and design.

When I have more spare cash, I'll definitely buy more from them because I know where my money is going and the sort of people and businesses it is supporting. As it is, I buy all my soap from them, and have done for several years. No chemicals, beautifully made and scented, promptly delivered.

I love the connection One Village create between us, as Western consumers, and small producers across the developing world. Keep up the good work!

This is an incredible organisation, working with worker’s associations and co-operatives. I have bought goods from them for many years and each time the quality and description provided have been excellent. My latest purchase was a pair of single duvet covers. They are beautifully made, I am thrilled.

Wonderful fair company and Oxfordshire based organisation that sell the best hair and body biodegradable soap bars(I especially love the natural sandalwood fragrance sourced versatile soap bars, handmade in the Indian subcontinent), all made with love from natural plant-based ingredients.
