I started my GCSE Latin course with the Oxford Open Learning Trust with a little trepidation, as I have tried online learning with other providers in the past and failed to finish the courses. I am much happier with OOL, as their course materials are excellent, there is readily available admin support, and I have a tutor who is fully invested in getting me through my GCSE in summer 2025.
Good materials. Helpful people always on other end of the phone. Feel more confident tackling this, especially as a mature student doing it for fun and personal satisfaction

Professional set-up and excellent support. I'm learning French and we've been supported by fluent speakers throughout.

OOL is a great provider of long distance learning courses. The tutors are experienced and always very pleasant and helpful, as are the people at the offices. As well as that, OOL are very competitive in terms of price so not only do you get good value for your money the people are fantastic too!
You get online access as well as a paper bound book. Lots of interactive exercises to do online and well laid out course. You have access to a Student Advisor any time you want and you are given a Tutor to help you with your studies. I am glad I started learning with them.

Outstanding English tutors.
My daughter was struggling with severe anxiety and burnout from lockdown, which made concentration on English, almost impossible. She had 2 of the most amazing tutors for IGCSE English Language (Amanda Parfect) and English Literature (Anne Thomas) these two wonderful ladies have gone above and beyond being a tutor; I’d say more like a mentor/teacher. Their thoughtfulness, attention to Issy’s well being and experience in their subjects has made my daughter go from being a shell to being confident and absolutely ready for her exams. I can only thank you ladies for all your hard work and care with our daughter. I’d highly recommend OOL but especially Amanda and Anne 🙏

For this distance learning, I found workbooks that were well explained, even perfect. Homework corrections were very regular. My tutor was available, attentive to my needs and very professional.

Straight forward service with a focus on passing the exams. Online options could be better but not an issue for me.

The provision of a personal tutor and the content and layout of the course were all excellent. It would have been even more useful if you had also offered an OCR GCSE course in Classical Greek, as I would have benefitted greatly from that. I am a mature (56-year old) student.

In my opinion, the best distance learning college in the market: OOL are polite, courteous and respectful and always get back to you as soon as they can. The staff are helpful and approachable and the tutors are friendly and knowledgable. The best too is the fact that the course prices are the most competitive on the market and the course package is the best. Well done OOL and keep up the great work 👍👍

Atrocious Service!
I originally signed up for both the A-Level French and Spanish courses with this company. I had initial welcome phone calls from both the French and Spanish tutors.
Aside from a few emails with the French tutor, never heard from them for months on end, until it got to a point where I just cancelled my standing order as I was not receiving the service promised. Despite being told they would be in regular contact, this did not happen and I was left trying to struggle through the course and the material on my own and have not had any attempt at contact from the French tutor since May.
I missed a phone call with the Spanish tutor in April and the same here, no attempt at follow up contact to check progress and just complete silence.
Also, this company did not even have the decency to reply to an email sent to them on 11th November detailing all of this.
It is a complete waste of money, they do not provide what is stated. It is a complete waste of money and would strongly recommend anyone to go elsewhere!

To try to pass French A level using distance learning with Oxford Open Learning Trust is not possible. There is minimal and inadequate tutor involvement. It would be only possible to pass the exam by hiring an additional tutor. The files provided and the on-line text book is not sufficient to pass the exam.
The tutor allocated to me was only prepared to mark less than 20 pieces of work during the whole 2 years of studying!

Chloe and Pia were very accommodating in answering all my questions. There was also a bit of a problem with the payment and they assisted us on solving the issue.
Alec, my tutor, also corrected and returned my assessments on time. He gave feedback and suggested ways to get the correct answer.

My experience with OOL had been excellent, I cannot fault them in in any way.
