I recently had my free annual boiler check and the engineer was very polite and respectful. I had had 4/5 emails advising the boiler check was due which was a few too many!

Been looking for a new company to look after our Boiler and heating etc, after reading the reviews on trust pilot about this company thought I’d give it a try, Signing up was extremely easy with a range of options, only set up to start in August so obviously not yet used, but all good so far

This is my first year with OpenFix and…
This is my first year with OpenFix and have just had my first boiler service.
I went with OpenFix, as I previously paid more each month and thought this contract sounded just as good.
I have been kept up to date with the boiler service company and they contacted me yesterday to ask if I was available today, which I was.
So far, I'm extremely pleased with OpenFix.

The sign up experience is really easy - the different levels of cover are easy to compare and the pricing is transparent with different options for the excess. I’ve used homeserve and ovo before and this one feels the most seamless.

Boiler service
The engineer let me know when he was on his way, he was very thorough and tidy as he worked. He explained quite a few things to me that I hadn’t an idea of. I would recommend him.

Avoid.
Took out a £12 subscription in Feb 2025. Free boiler service never happened. Engineer was supposed to come within a 4 hour window. Was told, after many phone calls, that he was running late and would be 1.5 hours after the window ended. I said not to come as I wasn’t waiting around any longer. Feb 2026 and I noticed my subscription had almost doubled, after seeing my bank statement. Cancelled the direct debit and called to ask about it. They couldn’t give me any information as to why the price had gone up just that ‘the computers do it’. Also told me I had to pay a £30 admin fee to cancel. I asked why I wasn’t informed of the price hike. Apparently, I was sent an email that shows as delivered on their side. An email I never received - which is odd as I have received all other emails they’ve sent before and since. I asked on what date the email was sent, it wasn’t 10 days before the end of the contract which it has to be. I queried this and was given some nonsense about this not needing to have happened as I had a 14 day cooling off period. I was told I needed to pay the admin fee or the contract wouldn’t end. I submitted a complaint and, after a few weeks, got an email stating that the account had been closed with no admin fee because it turns out I was right - the email (that I never received) wasn’t sent early enough. They also mentioned in their email that the engineer did come, but I didn’t answer the door. I was in the whole time and no one came. My ring doorbell can prove this. Customer service is awful. They speak to you as if you’re stupid, despite the fact they don’t know what they’re talking about. Avoid this company like the plague.
