I've been in lots of London choirs, over the years. However, what stands out about this choir is the relaxed bespoke feel. Unlike large scale choirs, you really feel welcomed and included. However, you still get to sing professional, interesting and diverse musical arrangements and work with some excellent MDs. If you make a mistake, you laugh it off and we all learn from each other. I'm always impressed by how fantastic we sound.

Absolutely lovely. I felt really welcomed and included. Had a very difficult couple of years and Katie was full of empathy and support. Such a fantastic way to deal with stress and anxiety.

l’ll be really honest, I was nervous about joining a choir for the first time. I’d never done anything like this before, and I was worried I’d stick out but its something I've always really wanted to have a crack at. From the very first session though, Katie and the team made me feel completely at ease. The atmosphere is so welcoming, positive, and fun that my nerves disappeared almost instantly!!
What I really love is how chilled it all is, there's not pressure at all. You don’t need to read music, they give you practice tracks, and everyone gets a say in the songs we sing. Katie, Oliver and Dominic are brilliant at keeping things fun while still helping us actually get better at singing which is something that I always felt nervous about but everyone’s made me feel so comfortable I feel I'm getting better already!!
And then there’s the people. Honestly, it’s just such a nice group. Everyone’s friendly, the socials are a laugh, and it feels more like hanging out with mates than anything intimidating. I walked in scared, and now I can’t wait for choir nights every week

The loveliest group of people! For anyone who wants to sing but may be too nervous to sing alone or audition beforehand etc this is the perfect start 🫶🏼

She puts her heart and soul into her choirs.
Every member feels connected and it feels like a family.
The website is easy to use and navigate. I cannot recommend this choir enough. It puts its members first and each session is not only fun but informative!

I found this choir on google and decided to check it out for myself, after attending a few different choirs in the past I wanted something new and exciting.
This is not what I got with the Stage Door Choir, first of all the website service is patchy and purchasing a membership was more complicated than it should've been.
At rehearsals the vibe is okay but if you want anything better than a poorly arranged sing-song on a Wednesday evening then I'd recommend going elsewhere.
Also performance opportunities are supposedly included in their membership, I was signed up for a good few months before a singular performance ever took place. I was told by members who have been there from the start that this was their first performance in a year which I think is totally unacceptable.
There's also the repertoire which I personally find is a little tired and the choir leader/owner of the choir is a bit overbearing and not the vocal guidance any choir should be using if they want a quality sound.
I like to give things a fair chance but this choir just really isn't for me. If you're looking for a choir with a great community, performance opportunities, standards and something more exciting than the same dry rehearsals week-to-week then I would look elsewhere.

There is such a welcoming and supportive atmosphere in this choir which makes it a pleasure to go to. The musical directors are great to work with and it’s a nice perk that choir members get to vote for the songs they sing each term. Definitely recommend

This is a relatively new choir group, but they are really good. Professionally led, but very accessible to most people. As long as you can sing in tune generally, you will fit in fine. Pieces are well taught by part and the individual tracks are available to practice by listening to downloads of them in a members only section.

The Stage Door Choir is more than just a choir—it's a vibrant, uplifting community that radiates warmth, joy, and a true love for music. Under the inspiring coordination of Katie, whose passion and dedication are palpable in everything she does, and the eagle ears of our fabulous Musical Director, Griffin, this choir feels like a second home. You can’t help but see how much this group and its mission mean to Katie, and that sense of purpose is infectious.
The repertoire is always fun and varied —songs that are not only musically challenging and enriching but also those that carry messages that lift spirits and bring people together. Singing with this group is a powerful experience. There's something utterly magical about blending voices in harmony, feeling the energy of those around you, and sharing in the joy of creating something bigger than yourself.
What really makes The Stage Door Choir stand out is the sense of togetherness. Whether you're a seasoned singer or someone new to choral singing, you'll feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to find your voice. The camaraderie, the laughter, and the shared triumph of learning and performing together make every rehearsal something I look forward to on a Monday evening, and miss when I’m away or have alternative commitments.
If you're considering joining, don't hesitate—this choir is a gift to anyone who loves music, community, and joy. I can’t wait to sign up again for the summer term season. Thank you, Katie and Griffin and thank you to everyone who makes The Stage Door Choir such a special place to be.

I recently had the immense pleasure of joining this small (but mighty!) choir founded by the incredibly passionate Katie, and I cannot express enough how much this experience has touched my heart. From the very first rehearsal, it was clear that this was not just a choir; it was a vibrant community that celebrates inclusivity and fosters an environment where everyone feels valued.
Katie's dedication to music is palpable, but what truly sets this choir apart is her unwavering commitment to mental health and creating a safe space for everyone. Here, we share more than just our voices; we share our stories, our insecurities, and our triumphs. In a world that often feels chaotic and overwhelming, this choir is a sanctuary where everyone knows your name and your opinions matter.
The camaraderie among choir members is genuinely lovely. Each rehearsal feels like a gathering of friends rather than just a singing session. We dive into singing songs from beloved movies and musicals, and each note brings an overwhelming sense of joy and connection. It’s impossible not to smile while belting out classic tunes with such a talented group of individuals who uplift and inspire one another.
I believe wholeheartedly that this choir has incredible potential. The passion that Katie pours into every rehearsal, as well Ollie and the members of course, ignites a fire in all of us, and I can't wait to see how we grow and evolve together. If you're looking for a creative outlet, a supportive community and a place to explore your love for music, I wholeheartedly encourage you to join The Stage Door Choir. This choir is destined for greatness and I am so grateful to be a part of this enchanting journey. Thank you Katie, for creating such a beautiful space for us all; to Ollie for your patience, passion and ensuring we sound somewhat decent and to the members who make it feel like we’ve known each other for years

I have been searching for an accepting choir for my deeper singing voice (due to medical reasons) as the last choir I was in was not actually inclusive. The Stage Door's founder director Katie and the musical directors were not only accepting of me and my needs, but embraced my uniqueness. I was welcomed from the moment I signed up for a taster, to my first time at the venue and a thank you email the next day. Communication and acceptance is something I have been searching for and have finally found. I would recommend this choir to any who want fun, to sing some amazing songs from the movies and theater and appreciate being accepted for who they are.
