Banning and silencing speech is not good and this is exactly what this company is doing. They need shutdown or regulated. Can just be one company trying to decide everyone's speech.

"Open" Web, total discriminatory real closet Nazis…

Total discriminatory real closet Nazis operation who eliminate any opinion and comment that does not align with their views by at least shadow banning such.

The ultimate oxymoron in their statement as they act in the total opposite and oppressive and a "backstabbing" Hamas style way:

Written by the company
"OpenWeb is on a mission to inspire and elevate quality conversations online. We build technologies to create thriving engaged communities, reduce toxicity, and increase safety — improving the quality of civil discourse and supporting independent journalism...."

What contradiction, what a sad pathetic joke of a "statement"!

Still blocked by default. Companies should thoroughly vet before entering into contracts

My last review of OpenWeb was a year ago, they have failed at their mission statement. I posted a criticism over a year ago about their inability to keep spambots off a financial page while rejecting other posts with meaningful content. I was soon blocked from posting anything on a site monitored by them. If I say "good morning", it's a violation of their policies and rejected. If you're a business, be aware of their disregard for freedom of speech and dependency on poorly trained AI/algorithms. Their performance has resulted in biased, inaccurate, or unreliable outputs, and they just shut down anyone who points it out.

My Yahoo account is 20 years old

My Yahoo account is 20 years old, I had thousands of comments until recently. I can't comment with out being rejected, if a comment goes through, it gets deleted later. I'm now down to 200 posts and the only ones that show are from the last 6 months. We are losing our free speech to these companies!

0 stars.... The ultimate oxymoron "Openweb" i.e. on FOXNews website suddenly shadow banning, notifications and settings disabled or not displayed without any notification. Writing to them zero response as well. says much about their lack of character, dignity and decency!

There is no company on the Internet…

There is no company on the Internet that has given me a worse experience than open web. Their censorship is completely biased and over the top. Yahoo and anyone else who uses them should abandon them with haste. I no longer use Yahoo because of open webs ridiculous censorship.

Pretty sure Openweb is censoring by blocking

I've read and follow all of the community guidelines in Yahoo, in addition to Openweb's article on what moderation is and isn't. I typically offer factual responses with data and sources to comments I where I think the author is uninformed, and I cannot match my comments to anything against the rules, but am sure I said some things that other people might not like. It looks like censorship to me since I cannot comment on ANYTHING right now. Yahoo support was unable to review my comments at a higher level in an attempt to get my block turned off.

You respond with a CLEAN response that does not violate ANYTHING except the person rejecting your opinon. So they send you an email letting you know this with no recourse or appeal. I find it Ironic these sensitive Liberals advocate free speech but only see things their way. Based on reviews I see how pathetic openWeb really is !

Closed Web

Eight years now I've been banned from posting any comment on AOL. When all I posted was a" LOL" to a comment made. They are completely biased and a disgrace. Others can post hate and OpenWeb does nothing. I appealed every year and have heard nothing back. Contacted Openweb and still nothing. As far as I'm concerned now they can go FTS!

OpenWeb unfairly rejects comments

OpenWeb unfairly rejects comments. Then it rejects your request for a review. It never provides an explanation or response. I've written entirely 100% polite comments, albeit on controversial topics, citing sources to support my opinion and/or the facts I present, but the comments frequently get rejected out of hand, while they publish comments that are vulgar, hateful, racist, and just plain misinformed. I feel that this company is irresponsible, unprofessional, and unresponsive. They should only be allowed to monitor comments on sports and entertainment articles or purely fluff pieces.

Randomly blocks accounts based on AI

Israeli company - which says a lot - who's support is unable to be contacted (support page very conveniently times out and doesn't show, since it "isn't complying with https standards") so no way of actually reaching them.

Website doesn't have ANY mail, that one can write to nor form - like AT ALL! All done intentionally and by design to prevent users from being able to complain.

Like other users have pointed out here, their system, which is AI-based is utter and complete garbage and censors basically anything even though the review doesn't hold any derogatory, misleading nor other non-allowed content.

I was blocked from posting on Yahoo articles because I was using an internet hotspot which apparently used some randomly changing VPN, thus interpreting the user account as being illegitimate or a bot - which is insane.

NO way of getting a hold neither of yahoo support nor this crap company, that yahoo should have fired YESTERDAY and replaced with something that actually works!

All a bunch of young guys ("IT entreprenuers") and complete amateurs that don't have a real clue on how to create a working system, but just smack AI on anything and then try to skim the money from big companies.

Fits with their origin!

24/7/365 Russian spambots posting…

24/7/365 Russian spambots posting divisive anti-American rhetoric on both sides. Whether it's 'all libs suck' or 'all magas are fartwads' doesn't matter, openweb/yahoo is a morass of garbage spam all day all night all the time. Constant agitation posts run in shifts with brigading, auto-bot attacks, downvote attacks, and auto-report attacks. Half the time comments don't even load and format correctly, the other half of the time clicking on Edit or your Notification icon doesn't work. Unfathomably terrible.

After all the negative reviews here about this company, they have changed the way they operate.
When you log into your account that uses the openweb platform, all your posts post. All your thumbs up or down show.
Once you log out, all your posts are gone as well as any thumbs. No others ever see your posts.
Log back in and all your posts and thumbs appear again. Amazing bit of slight of hand work I must say.

Yahoo should fire OpenWeb

Yahoo hired this company to monitor comments on their news stories. OpenWeb does a terrible job. Their AI has set catch words or names that automatically block a comment based on their guidelines that are boilerplate ghibberish. They have a reply feature to a posted comment in my Yahoo email that is supposed to take you to the comment but only takes you to the story. You then have to scan through all the comments to find your original post. They have a link to send them a message regarding issues but after filling out the info lines there is no way to send it. Terrible Terrible Company.

Openweb is a completely biased…

Openweb is a completely biased business. Once they don't like you, you are auto-blocked from posting ANYTHING. I could write a review for an article about local pizza chains containing nothing that could even remotely seem out of bounds. It could be a glowing review, it'll be rejected because they don't like the things I stand for. I don't agree with shutting people down for petty differences. It needs to be fixed to
CREATE open conversation, not save it in this fashion. Shutting out one type of people is not "saving conversation," it is creating a static and isolated point of view at the front and center. Boo dog.

(my experiences come from yahoo! message boards run and policed by Openweb)

OpenWeb is a Tel Aviv platform and controls Fox News comments..

They were formerly SPOT.IM, rebranded to OpenWeb. They are highly discriminatory toward conservative points of view on Fox News comments and will permanently shadow ban users exhibiting these characteristics. Once OpenWeb shadow bans your account, there is no notice whatsoever; you become invisible on the internet on the platform they control. People that control others First Amendment rights in such a fashion are not real Americans. OpenWeb happens to be from Tel Aviv with an office in NYC. Which explains why their online anti-conservative and even banishing of conservatives happen within their online realm. These people have no business controlling American media. They are not American by the way they treat conservatives and their POV's.

Ai openweb censors or encourages hate

Racism, ignorant bias mean comments, and lies are allowed but certain words even if truthful and not about a person are used the post and is flagged. Ai allows a comment like "all white people are dirty and eat poo with babies in it" but you can't say "Elon musk made a Nazi gesture" because of the use of the word Nazi. The Ai flags the wrong things but allows lies and hate to spread. It either censors or encourages rage.
