Phone is just OK - company is dire though.

Bought the brand new Oppo Find X8 Pro. Bought for its reviews on the camera prowess. Phone had a couple of issues, one being the cellular data reception and the other being blurry images on 2x zoom.i contacted them the day after I received it requesting a replacement handset. It's now 5 weeks and I'm still playing cat & mouse. My case has been 'escalated' and 'under review'. Just called again to be told that this guy Mathew will escalate the 'escalation'!! Said it takes time to contact the sales department and for them to review it. He said he could not transfer me. Bunch of utter muppets. Terrible company to deal with. 'Mathew' was a bit testy with me and not at all helpful in any measurable way. Kept telling me he was listening all the while talking over me whilst I was talking (ranting). Absolutely dire company and just as bad is the fact that the phone is nothing special after all the money I paid. I'd rate it as upper mid range performance for flagship money. I traded in an Oppo find x5 pro for this find x8 pro, and the x5 was just as good and it was over 2 years old! I had read one review where a pro reviewer had very similar issues to what I am experiencing and he said Oppo sorted it out in a few days with a new handset. That is obviously how they view their paying customers. Going by so many poor reviews I have now read, this is evidently why Oppo are just not very popular in the UK. Steer well clear. Edit: April 3rd 2025 - Oppo have had my phone now since 19th February. Although they didn't let me know when they received it back. I had to contact them again to ask if it had arrived OK. I have emailed on several occasions asking what is happening. It generally takes them about a whole week to reply! On 23rd Feb they said it would be 3-10 working days. I mailed them after 13 working days. They replied at around a week later saying my phone had been 'repaired' and they needed my address to send it back! Even though the phone has the original order number allocated to this returned phone which they originally sent to me! I said I didn't want a repaired phone seeing as that was an admission that I was correct from the day I first complained. I have heard nothing back as of yet! It seems like they are now being obstinate on purpose as I don't believe any company are this bad.

Was a good phone, until it wasn't.

The phone was ok for the first few months, then there was a software update, which has completely ruined the phone.

Overall performance is horrendous, battery life degrades quicker than milk left in the sun too long, and the entire experience is nothing less than a maddening experience.

The OS is now complete garbage and lags with EVERYTHING! If you're looking for an exercise in pure frustration, this is the perfect phone for it.

Never again!

Rubbish quality phones plus arabic keyboards software is stupid it's always suggesting a different words and meaning and doesn't store what you type in the memory
Battery life after 2yrs dies in less time then charging it full, I wouldn't have the interest in buying their rubbish ever again

IV had an opportunity for many years, to only just discover the high price for a low quality phone, when their are cheaper, better quality phones that are basically doing the same thing. I feel very ripped off

A Pleasent Surprise

I had my very first experience with OPPO the last time I went to buy a cellphone, and I was pleasantly surprised. Their latest model, OPPO Reno 12, is an absolute gem for the price you pay; it has an amazing camera, by far the best feature, lots of space and memory, and, if that matters to you, the cover is beautiful. It easily rivals with the latest models from Samsung for half the price.

don't believe the pre sales on the phone/

spoke to the store, advised comes with protection and clear case, arrived with neither, charger is extra, but comes very basic and supposedly this is the best phone they have at the moment reno 12 pro, no x finds available, also student discount does not work, so screen protection, case and charging all comes as added extras, this has changed since our last purchase. i have learnt, don't believe what they tell you on the phone. this was a gift and it has turned really sour, made worse when you are fobbed off again when you call it, they put you on hold and the line goes nu. wont buy another oppo......

Junk

Don't listen to anyone telling you "it's as good as a Samsung"...... it's not. Freezes, turns itself off, takes forever to come back on and the camera has all the clarity and finesse
of a potato. Seriously just don't bother. Can't wait to consign mine to the bin where it belongs.

I've got the oppo a54 5g and it's an absolute bag of needles it crashes everything 40 times before you can actually go on anything and when an app needs more then 2 ping you crash. This phone is a piece of crap id recommend only getting an oppo if you are literally gonna use it to just call people it's very bad.

Lots of reviewers here seem to have had bad experiences with their Oppo mobile - not me, though. I rate my Oppo A72 128 gb highly. I bought this from Oppostore UK in 2021, used it everyday, and I have had no problems with it. It's top quality Snapdragon processor is bullet-proof. This is a mobile at the lower end of the value chain with a price of £170 in 2021 but with the performance of a high end top branded device. The only niggling hitch I had with it was a tendency for it to display notifications across the bottom of the screen over the pop-up keyboard. I would definitely buy another Oppo device.

A Total Scam...

Since mid-February up to now (mid-Aug) more than 40 emails/calls, twice phone returned to their repair agents (second time broke the phone & tried to blame me). Worst phone experience ever, compounded by the scammer type customer service. Customer service objective is to exhaust you till you go away.

To the CEO of Oppo Electronics, why is Oppo not standing behind its products if it is faulty?
When I purchase an Oppo A58 phone with a reputation as a global brand, I expect if the product is faulty, it should be replaced with a smile and not give the customer a run-around with a lot of rules and regulations with company policies.

I was disappointed when my phone started re-booting in a constant loop. I was assured it is covered by the International Warranty and The Consumer Guarantees Act when I purchased it in Australia.

When I contacted Oppo NZ, it was very disappointing to hear Oppo does not provide an international warranty for the phone I just purchased 30 days ago and wanted $150 to repair the main board.

Used the rate this company very highly. So much that I would actually recommend your photo of the people not anymore. You are now worse than Apple every god damn phone update makes the phone a thousand times worse between not charging not knowing it's got a charger in it crashing lack of GPS signal. Flashing screen the list goes on, either when I tell it not to it does it anyway
