Our baggage always was delivered on time to next hotel on the Camino Walk even if we finished walking earlier than intended

The company was great, very helpful no problem with our luggage transfers. Would definitely recommend Orbis Way. The only thing that would have made our trip more enjoyable was having an accommodation in the city of Sigeuro and Santiago so we could walk. Even if the cost would be increased the
option would be welcoming. Otherwise, great experience.

At Orbis's invitation, I am writing this review of two walking tours of England and Scotland I booked through them in September of 2024. The English tour was the "Northumberland Coast Path 8-Day Tour; the Scottish tour was the West Highland Way in 10 Days Tour." Both tours were so riddled with Orbis's mistakes and oversights that I had no choice but to cut my trip short and return home because of Orbis's negligence, mistakes, oversights and failures to communicate. Details are provided below, but Orbis fell spectacularly short in adequately scheduling my trip, in making appropriate bookings, and in appropriately dealing with those mistakes after they were brought to Orbis's attention.
The Northumberland Coast Path 8-Day Tour. On day 3, after walking 13 miles, I arrived at the Warkworth only to be told by the inn's manager that my room had not been paid for. I immediately began contacting Orbis: I called the UK number, no answer. I called the USA number, no answer. I called the emergency number, which was answered, but by a woman who answered in Spanish. I do not speak but rudimentary Spanish, and when I asked the woman if she spoke English, she hung up on me. Having failed to reach anyone at Orbis by phone, I then emailed Orbis Operations and waited for a reply. There was no reply. I was exhausted from the day's 13 mile walk, so I told the inn manager I would pay and work it out with Orbis when someone could bother to answer the phone or get back with me.
Thirty minutes later I got a call from Orbis and was asked why I paid for the room. I told the caller what I had gone through, and Orbis immediately refunded what I had to pay for my room. I assumed this was just one of those mistakes that can happen. It had been resolved to my satisfaction and I chose to look at it as a minor hiccup. I should not have.
Day 6 of my walk I was standing in the midst of a farm field only to receive a call from my luggage carrier telling me that the hotel Orbis had booked me in did not exist! The carrier said he tried to contact Orbis to straighten out the booking error but was unable to reach anyone. The luggage carrier, Alnwick Wizard Taxis, in an act of true hospitality and kindness, used his own initiative to contact three local inns to secure and book a room for me. He also said, since I was in the middle of a farm field with spotty cell service, he would continue to try to contact Orbis on my behalf.
Day 7, in Berwick Upon Tweed, after a day walking 13 miles, I was told upon my arrival at the hotel by the receptionist that Orbis’s credit card did not go through - that their card had expired!
The West Highland Way In Ten Days Tour. In connection with this part of my tour, I had paid Orbis $140 for taxi service on Days 7 and 8 to shuttle me back and forth from an inn to the trailhead. Orbis contacted me and told me that it was up to me to book the taxi, and Orbis refunded me the $140. Orbis provided me with the name of a taxi company I could call to arrange my service.
As Orbis suggested, I contacted the taxi company they had referred me to, only to be told that the taxi company did not provide service to the area I would be in. Further, the taxi company did not know of another transportation company they could refer me to for transportation. I immediately called Orbis and asked for help. Their response: “We told you it was up to you to book a taxi and that we had refunded your account $140 to pay for the taxi.” I tried to explain that there was no taxi to be paid for because the company they referred me to did not service the area I would be in. So I was stranded; it was as if they had booked a hotel where none had existed, refunded me the cost of the room, and then referred me to a hotel that did not exist in the area I would be in.
This was my breaking point. I was beyond angry and fed up, and frankly - after walking a very, very tough trail – I was emotionally and physically exhausted. I had no emotional strength to deal with Orbis anymore. I contacted Orbis and demanded they cancel my trip IMMEDIATELY and issue a refund (I suggested a tiny sum, $300) for the rest of the journey. Orbis, of course, did not reply.
I did not complete my walking holiday. Orbis had completely botched the job.

I booked the Camino the Finisterre with Orbis Ways. All the way through the booking process (with numerous requests for changes on my part - apologies!) they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The trip itself went without a hitch, the accommodations were all very nice and spotlessly clean, the food was good and the staff were lovely. I was particularly impressed with the baggage transfer service - I was nervous about this, but my bag was invariably either already waiting for me when I got to the next hotel or arrived within 20 minutes. It made the whole experience so much more relaxing and enjoyable! Thank you!

Greatest respect to the staff of Orbis Ways. My recent hiking trip to Madeira Island was fraught with difficulties. Of the 10 days of planned hiking, I hiked only 4 because of forest fires. Not only were trails closed, so were planned accommodations. Concurrently, weather (high winds) closed the airport for 2 or 3 days which complicated hotel availability even further. Orbis Ways took care of everything: alternate accommodations and transportation. While this made for some unexpected daily hotel changes, it was done seamlessly from my perspective. On the other hand, I know a lot of effort was expended to accommodate my needs. I cannot praise enough those that ensured the best possible outcome considering the circumstances. I know it wasn't easy.

Orbis Ways was amazing in organising our accomodation and any special requests for our Camino Portugues walk. I highly recommend them. They also helped us when we accidentally left something behind. Above and beyond service.

We did the Fishermans Trial. The beaches and little towns were beautiful and off the beaten track. You would probably not get an opportunity to visit them if you didn't do this Trial. However the walks were very difficult and you would have to be an experienced Hiker, up to 7 hours a day on cliff tops and sand dunes. But overall it was a great experience and Orbis organised everything so well, our cases were collected promptly and all the guest houses were spotless and very welcoming with lovely breakfasts.

Booked with them 8 months in advance. Excellent communications throughout. Prompt responses. Very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. No issues whatsoever, on the trip. Documentation, hotels and baggage transfers exceeded my expectations. Would definitely recommend. We are actually contemplating doing another Camino with Orbis Ways.

This was my first time using an external organisation for an Camino as normally I work independently. Overall a great experience using Orbis Ways. Excellent management by Jorge of my itinerary with prompt communication and no fuss on minor changes made at my request. Accommodation was generally to a high standard and only one out of the 7 overnight stops just fell short of the high standard. Highly recommend Orbis Ways based on my first experience with them.

It was wonderful working with Orbis Ways to book my Camino adventure. My Orbis rep was so very patient and helpful and responded to my dozens of questions and inquiries. There is no way my wife and I would of been able to find the great hotel locations and give us the confidence to tackle this adventure on our own.

First up the email communication was always prompt and clear. Second - all the necessary documents were sent ahead of time. Third - the hotels booked for us were all good and the bags were always in the room ahead of our arrival.

We had our luggage waiting for us so no worries at all! Dossier was so helpful to prepare us and describe the way. We loved the hotels and breakfasts. Thank you for your support for our first Camino!

Carmen our travel organizer was brilliant, Fantastic organisation for a incredible journey. The Hotels were great and suitcase were always waiting for us at next destination. Our only complaint was the bed was very small and the matress was very flimsy in last hotel in Santiago.
However everything else was spot on!
Thank you again for a wonderful experience.
