This was the worst experience ive ever…

This was the worst experience ive ever had. As a first time pet owner i choose this practice for proximity amd choose to ignore the bad reviews my mistake. I registered and was told to make an appointment to bring my i.d for proof of address and to make note of any exisiting problems my puppy had. I was under the impression this was just a formality before joining the practice and then after an official appointment would be made. When i arrived my puppy was nervous and we were stood inside for 5 minutes while i tried to coax my puppy over they see me standing there and when i finally made it to the desk the male receptionist said oh were not sure if the vet will see you as your late totally oblivious to me being stood 5ft away struggling to get my pup over being nervous myself i didnt argue i was then shouted at from behind the desk to weigh my dog i had no idea where the scales were and looked around found them and they still sat there so i had to shout the weight across. I was stood there for another 5 minutes when the vet came out and said follow me. I explained my pup had cherry eye and before i said anything else he poked my nervous pup in the eye then wondered why she started growling at him. He then seemed very unsure of the whole situation he then said my only option was surgery which it wasnt as i had done my research while i was trying to explain i knew the other options he was reeling off his price list for sutures and the surgeon a nd other bits i told him repeatedly that surgery is the last option as it comes with long term complications he then still tried instructing me on surgery i told him he could issue steriods to shrink the gland and then try a massage he didnt even say i could do this at home which i know you can i was then told he had no idea when the surgeons next in either so another 10minutes stood waiting in reception for them still not know i even suggested i call them back in 4 weeks to check but they were more interested in getting me an invoice and price list than talking me through any of the procedure. I was then told they would issue her steriods and that bill was for £62 not bad considering i was only there to take my i.d which they still never asked for as i explained that is what i was there for they told me i was already registered as i filled a form online and yet that same day i was told by a female member of staff to bring my i.d up. I explained i had no idea and that i didnt get paid till later this week and was happy to leave the medication and come pay and collect later i was then made to feel like a naughty child caught stealing or something the way that male member of staff spoke was so condecending and patronising my anxiety was through the roof. He then repeatedly said they are a buisness i should of expected to be charged so i replied what for when all i was told was to bring my. I.d. He then tried to give explanations on how i should of known and they are not a charity. How i kept my cool with this man i will never know. I kept thinking did i miss something did they tell me they would charge me for taking my i.d ?. If this is a so called buisness and this is how they treat there customers they should be ashamed of themselves and that staff member needs to work on his customer service. This was my first time at a vets surgery i wasnt greeted i wasnt informed of how things worked and even when i said i had pet insurence they wasnt interested only in saying that even they have an excess which i already knew but i thought if my dog was to have surgery wouldnt they need to see proof ?. Well they sent me an invoice for the whole ordeal which im going to pay and then re register somewhere else if vets are so much a buisness i shall take it elsewhere. Do not go to this practice if you expect to be treated like a human being and not just a cash machine.

Hi Kerry,
Can I just confirm you have the right practice? We don't have any male members of staff and don't have anyone registered with your surname?

Happy Cat Lady

Service excellent. Staff friendly and very helpful. I was quoted £90 over the phone for work needing done to my cat without them actually seeing him but when I went to collect him the receptionist informed me that I only needed to pay £30 as he wasn't as bad as they had expected.

Rude receptionist

Rude receptionist, spoke to me like dirt on his shoe. Also expensive and all they care about is money. Vet has no people skills either

Hi Katie, I have requested that you send us more information so we can look into this as we do not currently have any male receptionists. Our first priority is always the pet though we understand that the cost of medication can quickly add up! We want to find out more about the vet you saw, so if you could provide us with further details on the time and date of your visit we'll be happy to to look into this.

I have given one star as they saw us at…

I have given one star as they saw us at short notice and the receptionist was polite and helpful .
The vet on the other hand was rude and ignorant beyond belief .
