August 2026, Old Republic Home Warranty sent **AD Mechanical Inc. to my home. Their technician, **Alex**, immediately heard the AC and stated that the **compressor was not working properly**. Alex opened the unit, saw an aftermarket component, and stated that this indicated the compressor was at the end of its life. Alex said he was **100% certain there was a compressor issue**. I have this interaction recorded on my home security camera. Despite Alex’s diagnosis, **AD Mechanical Inc.** replaced another aftermarket component instead of properly addressing the compressor. **Two days later, the compressor failed again**, then restarted on its own. This happened twice that day and approximately six more times afterward. The failure is intermittent, which is exactly why I recorded it. The AC sometimes works and sometimes does not. On Saturday and Sunday, the unit made a loud noise, stopped, and restarted. I recorded both incidents and provided the videos to **Alex and AD Mechanical Inc.** Alex responded that he needed to personally see the failure happen. That is unreasonable. **Alex had already diagnosed the compressor issue, and I provided video evidence documenting the same failure.** The fact that an intermittent problem does not happen continuously does not invalidate video evidence. I am not asking Old Republic to let **AD Mechanical Inc. or Alex** patch the system again. Please escalate this claim and send a different technician. I have lost confidence in **AD Mechanical Inc. and Alex** based on the initial diagnosis, the unsuccessful repair, repeated failures, and refusal to consider the documented video evidence.

Then they assigned someone else which was extremely dishonest and lied about multiple things.

Fifteen days without a working refrigerator, three wasted technician visits, spoiled food, and STILL no resolution from Old Republic Home Protection.

ORHP sent three different technicians who said they do not work on Samsung refrigerators. Each looked at the refrigerator, photographed the sticker showing a 10-year compressor warranty, and left without performing proper diagnostics. Three visits, no answers, and unnecessary delays.

I have two children and an elderly mother at home. We have been without a working refrigerator for 15 days. Throughout these delays, our food spoiled and had to be thrown away. Losing groceries on top of going without a refrigerator has added expense and stress for my family.

After repeated calls and hold times of 45 to 50 minutes, I requested a manager. Candy returned my call 34 hours later. I found her extremely rude. She told me ORHP does not cover components under a manufacturer’s warranty and directed me to Samsung.

I contacted Samsung directly. Their technician performed proper diagnostics and found NO issues with the compressor or inverter. The technician diagnosed a sealed system issue. ORHP’s technicians had pointed to the compressor warranty without even determining whether the compressor was the problem.

I called ORHP again with Samsung’s findings. Despite the wasted visits, spoiled food, and delays, I received no apology and still have no resolution. As I write this review, I have been on hold for an hour.

I am furious. We pay for home protection, yet my family has spent 15 days without an essential appliance, throwing away food while I repeatedly chase ORHP for help. This experience has left me feeling scammed.

ORHP needs to take responsibility, review Samsung’s diagnosis, and provide a clear repair plan immediately. If you are considering this company, read the reviews carefully before spending your money.

Friendly and knowledgeable electrician did the work efficiently. Old Republic rep followed up on the progress with email and phone messages.

You did not fix my sheet rock that the damage from the AC that’s just wrong

Home Warranty was offered when I bought a new home. Decided to take them up on it as I’ve used HWs in the past and they saved me some serious coin when surprises popped up.

I was new to Old Republic and did have two claims with them. The initial claim process was pleasant and predictable. Getting a work order started was a breeze but then I encountered trying to get reimbursed for the expenses covered under home warranty.

My first claim was back on February 2nd, 2026. As I write this today, I am waiting on hold for the 13th time trying to get in touch with their Authorization Department. Every time I endure the social experiment that is waiting 45-minutes for their Customer Service to pickup I am only met with the “we don’t have any updates. We are waiting to hear from the contractor.” More than 4 months has gone by without reimbursement of my incurred fees that is supposed to be covered by the home warranty.

Stay away from Old Republic. I recommended going with more reputable brand that values customer service more. You’ll be thankful you did if you have to through the claim and reimbursement process.

Update on 6/9/2026: I called again, waited for 49 minutes to speak to someone in the authorization department, and they gave me a glimpse of hope. They stated this was unusual wait time for hearing back from contractors and were able to make an exception to get my reimbursement headed my way. I appreciate the creativity to curtail bad SOPs and keep customer satisfaction at the heart of the interaction.

Update on 8/07/2026: I still have yet to receive my reimbursement. I will be reporting Old Republic Home Warranty to the BBB and sharing my experience far and wide. Stay far far away from Old Republic Home Warranty unless you want to die on hold and with Tier 1 support that cannot solve any issues.

Update on 10/1/2026: I have yet to be reimbursed and wait hours on hold for a customer service Rep to tell me it’s another departments’ responsibility.

Old Republic Home Warranty is a predatory service that should be held criminally liable.

They were able to get out to my house in a timely manner. Identified that my refrigerant was low but could not find the leak and just said I will have to call again when my ac stops working. So not the best answer to a problem they identified.

The ac its steel not working, just work for a few days and its not working again

I truly love Old Republic. The agents are so friendly. They all treat me like Im their neighbor. Everyone is so helpful and they really do want to make each transaction as smooth as possible!
