Absolutely shocking.

The initial transfer was fine - and like all companies when you first join they promise you the earth. However, the reality was very different.

Within 48 hours of our initial design consultation a website had been produced. This should have been the first red flag.

Before we had a chance to properly review the website, it was switched to live for all the world to see.

The website was basically a 'cut and paste' of our existing site. Except it wasn't a very good cut and paste because somehow spelling mistakes and punctuation errors had crept in on every page.

On returning to the office that evening - our first chance to properly see the site - we were horrified to see what had been produced. We immediately contacted the company - assured by their " We can update and make changes throughout the year for FREE and all within 24 hours"

24 hours later and still nothing, so we contacted them again.

At about midday on Tuesday - four days after the first email - we received contact offering to replace the errant site with a landing page until the errors were fixed- as a form of damage limitation we accepted.

We heard nothing and nothing changed.

We emailed on a number of occasions and eventually got a phone call booked in - one week after the original car crash of a site had been put up.

An hour before the call a 'Website is undergoing maintenance' message appeared - three days after it was offered. At the appointed hour on Friday the call began, only for Richard to disclose he wasn't the person we needed to speak to and that he would have to rearrange the call with someone else.

I then waited another three hours for someone to call me, by which time I had lost all faith and patience in OSAM. I cancelled the site.

You'd think it couldn't get worse wouldn't you?

When it became clear that I had lost patience with the process, suddenly a number of senior people were trotted out to try and gloss over the fiasco. Initially they tried to pretend that nothing was wrong and we were looking at ' a few minor changes' - either ignoring or not realising that ship had sailed a long time ago.

At this juncture it is worth noting that when the website was transferred from the previous provider, OSAM were insistent that it was done immediately - 'it's at the touch of a button, don't take any excuses from them, they'll try and delay you and talk you out of it' - thus my previous provider issued the codes immediately.

OSAM play by different rules however.

When I eventually got the point across, I was then forced into telephone ping-pong between OSAM and my previous provider about codes.

With all avenues exhausted, OSAM said they had the code;

Except they couldn't now issue it as it needed both the manager's and the managing director's authorisation to do so, and as it was now approaching 4pm on a Friday they had both gone home and were unavailable.

So, another 48 hours will pass before I am eventually able to unpick this disaster.

If you value your company and/or you sanity, find a different provider.

p.s. This review would be in severe minus numbers, but Trustpilot wont let me!

To update my review. I have subsequently had contact from the head of their technical department who ensured that ( finally) my website was released to my original provider.

Of all the people I've dealt with, he was the most professional. He promised to undertake a 'lessons learned' process from the tale above and to look at changing some of the internal policies that were so obstructive and damaging.

I hope he is true to his word because it would go a long way to improving their service to customers and demonstrating they were serious about not repeating what happened.

By way of a further update, I have been contacted by OSAM on a number of occasions asking me to delete this review as it is bad for business.

I have also read their justification for what happened - sufficed to say, it doesn’t resemble my experience of them.

Caveat emptor.

Have been working with OSAM for a few years now and would highly recommend them, everyone there is so friendly and a joy to talk to they are always happy to help and they have really contributed to the success of our website.

Changed over to Osama a couple of years ago and have been very happy with the cost and service, especially from Jasmine who checks in with me every now and again

Very knowledgeable and helpful, customer support is excellent and they have built a very good website for me.

Very helpful and always a cheery voice (especially the lovely Jasmine), with good follow-up and regular contact to ensure all is as it should be. Why are more service providers not as professional as Osam?
Keep it up guys!

I move to osam 4 years ago after being with another company for 14 years before that. I can honestly say it's been one of the best decisions I've made regarding my business. The Osam team are very helpful.. they call a couple of times throughout the year to see if I need any changes to the site, the site has always gotten me a steady return of traffic.their customer service team are fantastic! At least i can speak to a human being, and not a robot or a customer service team that is outsourced from a third world country for maximum profit, like some other well known companies..
I would have no hesitation recommending OSAM to friends family and have done to other colleagues

Great website, easy to make changes, staff so helpful and pleasant to deal with nothing is too much trouble and saves me a fortune.

Incredible help from OSAM Websites and very patient with you over the phone helping with your individual needs.

Good value for money. If you already have a web site handler , they even help you switch.

They built me a great website, half the price of yell. They regularly ring me to see if I would like any changes for free. Really happy with them, have had other companies try and get me to change but I definitely won't be changing.

I have a website with OSAM, they call just to see if you need help or anything updated, always helpful. I recently got them to design a new logo, Rich was very patient as I'm a bit fussy and had him tweak the design a few times. Very nice and very accommodating, I would highly recommend them.
