Just returned from TD Active Portuguese Coastal Way Camino. We arrived as strangers and departed as Pilgrims and great friends. Daniel Lindt our Viking guide was not only a guide but a medic, an expert on all things Camino and a wonderful companion. Claudia who could park a bus in a space for a mini cooper, and Rafael the quiet man who led the pack. This was a once in a life time experience with a great group of friends, already checking out other Camino routes with TD Active for next year.

I've recently returned from a walking holiday on the Portuguese Camino from Bayona to Santiago de Compostela organised by TD Active. It's my first time to travel with TD Active and I've no qualms in saying it was the best trip I've ever been on. The hotels were excellent but the icing on the cake was our excellent tour guide Daniel Lindh ably assisted by Raphiel and our wonderful bus driver Claudia who impressed everyone in our group of 30 with her driving skills. They were a great combination which helped us all enjoy our holiday.
As a guide Daniel has the perfect personality combined with a vast knowledge of the history etc of the countryside and towns we walked through. The ever so helpful Raphiel on the other hand made sure no one got left behind while exuding great patience.
Looking forward to my next trip with TD Active.

We were mountain walking in Donegal under the expert leadership of Anne Leonard. It was a fantastic three days of hiking over Errigal, Slieve League and Glencolmkille. Anne was superb as were the routes we were guided on. The fantastic weather added to our enjoyment. The staff in The Central Hotel were very helpful and courteous. I would say our break in Donegal matched or even surpassed some of the walking holidays abroad that we have been on.
Lovely group of walkers too who shared their knowledge and experiences too.

I have just returned from TD Active - Camino de Santiago - The last 100 KM
This was an amazing experience made so by the attention and detail from the TD Active Holidays. All the information was forthcoming in plenty of time. Our Guide, Jose, was up to Travel Department Standard and our driver was excellent. The hotels selected and the services were excellent. There was no rushing around and each person allowed to do their Camino in their own time.
The only comment I would make was the airport we flew into - Porto- a 4 hour journey from our starting point. This meant we did not get to our hotel until 1.30 am and with very little sleep made day one difficult. I originally booked this holiday in March 2020 and of course with the pandemic things changed dramatically. At that time we were to fly into Santiago airport and chatting to the other participants this would have been much better.
However this was once again a great journey with The Travel Department and I am hoping to have many more great holidays with them.

I cancelled a walking holiday to Romania which was booked for September 2021. When I contacted customer services to cancel they got the voucher for the amount paid as a deposit emailed to me in a matter of minutes. Excellent service.

Was really well organised. The tour guide David the tour guide was absolutely brilliant.

I have travelled to Russia, South Africa, Lisbon, The Camino & India with the travel department. They were wonderful holidays - not at all “touristy” - small groups, great guides, likeminded & intresting companions. India is probably the highlight - it was just so different & our guide brought us to much more than obvious Taj Mahal ( at dawn & dusk). We met real people & I am still in contact with some of the beautiful & spiritual Hindi, Buddhist & Christian people we met. Strange as it may seem I’m in an online book club with them / Indian literature is well worth delving into & reflects the rich tapestry of their lives. One of the people we met was an international corporate lawyer originally from Mallow, co Cork who gave up her worldly goods to join mother theresa’s Sisters & who I barter Barry’s tea for prayers. Anybody who had an open mind & a bit of curiosity will have a marvelous experience / all the practicalities are looked after by the Travel Department & & the highlight of our trip was the Ganges. I recommend the Travel Department wholeheartedly. Most of my trips were solo ( no single supplement) & were with TD Active which takes you on alternative routes - authentic & a bit of work - places & people off the beaten track - trains, planes & tic tics that were adrenaline filled & unsanitised. Would I go again - absolutely.

We had a great experience on the last 100km walk on the Camino. It was very well organised and our guide, David was the best. Highly recommended

Went on Little trains of Pyrnees 4- 11 Oct. 2021. We saw extremely beautiful interesting places in North spain and S/E France. Our guide Margaret and Francsec, our driver were exceptional. As we had very early morning flights, departing and returning, the schedule was extremely tiring. also very early mornings due to long coach trip to destinations.
Is it possible to have more reasonable flight times. ? Also Sunday 10 Oct. was hectic schedule, the day b4 we returned.
Is it possible for hotel to have buffet items, explained, especially the starters and fish. Guests had to continually ask staff about food, this interaction needs be avoided during CoVid .

I enjoyed this my first walking holiday in Ireland. Holiday was first post covid walking holiday and participants all Irish so kudos for pulling it off. The guide managed a mixed walking group very well though a second guide would have been useful on occasions. The walks were well chosen and provided variety of terrain and views. Participants mixed well. I felt the Hotel chosen a big anonymous hotel catering mainly to families was not the right choice for the group. I will do doing another walking holiday with TDActive

I've been on a few walking holidays with TD Active, they have been absolutely terrific. Very well organised, really good knowledgeable guides. Highly recommend travelling with them.

Fantastic few days in Lauragh / Glendalough.

If I could give 0 star I would. I won a trip for me and a friend to go to Sri Lanka. Was very excited as a young student for this once in a lifetime trip. Competition was on Today Fm for a week so they got plenty of advertising. Trip cancelled by TD Active due to Covid (understandable). Terrible communication. In the end didn't honour trip. No reschedule, No refund. Nothing. Even though we were contracted due to receipt...I'd be careful to read 'Terms and Conditions' because that's what they claimed to cancel and not honour anything, even though they went against their own T&Cs. They are not 'out of pocket' because I was told by another travel agency the government is refunding agencies if Covid was the cause of cancelations. I don't want money, I want the agreement to be honoured. In the end they showed no remourse and offered a measly 'good will' gesture that maybe gave me a 5% discount on their trips.

We just returned on 23/9/19 ,from walking trip on the Danube bend.We had a fantastic holiday,great walking ,exceptional guides Gabor,Laslo,and our guide Roberto.They were incredible, and their attention to detail was unbelievable.The hotel was outstanding and the owner was so good to the group with surprise lunch ,and barbecue,The evening boat trip on the Danube to see the sunset was really beautiful and the hotel owner accompanied us .We met lovely people on this trip and had great fun.A really very enjoyable holiday.

Just back from a fabulous week walking on Danube Bend with guides Gabor, Laslo and Roberto - guides were so helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay a brilliant week-the hotel owner was really great too and again went away beyond the extra mile with barbecues on the mountain tops-banquets and even a medieval joust -we had great walking- a most sociable group and the icing on the cake fabulous weather - highly recommended M A Bolster

TD Active Holidays really provide superb experiences in some fantastic locations around the world and at good prices. Great value for money when you consider all the things included in the holiday cost; flights, accommodation, transfers, food, escorted guides every day, entrance fees to numerous and really interesting places & activities. Just a great holiday really with them. No worries, absolutely everything taken care of. And the guides were so knowledgeable and very friendly and accommodating. Everything catered for. Took great care of us. The itinerary was really well thought out and put together. Perfect balance of activity and rest. Definitely travel with them again.

Thoroughly enjoyed this holiday. Beautiful part of Romania. Walks varied every day. Definitely need boots and walking pole. Very well run and stayed in two lovely hotels. Hotel in Brashov is particularly well located. Whole week was great and guides were most helpful, patient and kind.

I went on TD Active Camino de Santiago on 23 May 2019. It was my first TD Active holiday. It was a fantastic experience from a service point of view. The arrangements went smooth; the guides, Daniel & Rafael were excellent; very helpful; enthusiastic; caring. We received picnics for our walks everyday. The picnics were generous however it meant we could share it with other pilgrims! Owing to my great experience, a number of my colleagues are gearing up to join this TD Active holiday. The walking group was as fantastic. This type of holiday is my future please God. Just be sure to have a degree of fitness as you cannot blame TDActive for your incapacities.

I am just home from a wonderful adventure in Cuba arranged by TD Active Ireland. Cuba was an experience on many levels.It was emotional to see how poor the people are,to see beautiful buildings falling apart,to see amazing cars,streets,and wonderful colours. It was an intellectual experience to learn about the revolution and the development of the regime there. It was an artistic experience,as we drank cocktails on the rooftop of Hemmingways former home/haunt in Bishop Str Havana.
Our Tour Guide Nelson was full of information which he delivered with enthusiasm and fun,Nelson loved to laugh. He looked after us like gold.He catered for our individual requests as well as group request. We found his suggestions to be pragmatic and utterly sensible.
William our driver was the strong silent type.He took his job and our safety very seriously.He co operated at every level to facilitate us. Some days William drove 420km without a problem. We are very grateful to him. Also Matt our guide and driver in Toronto were excellent.
Our accommodation was top drawer. Personally I would have preferred to stay in Havana city rather than the Casa in Suburbia in Havana. The Casa was beautiful but location was not good for me (a 68 yr old solo traveller) atal. I just stayed in every night. The hotel in Cienfuigentes and Casa in Trinidad were in excellent locations.
It was a wonderful trip,the group got on very well mostly. Thank you TD Active for a wonderful trip. I will travel with you again.
