OK when it works, but OS Maps have gone!!
Once I got used to it, I found it OK to use and helpful on my iPhone. BUT! Now the OS maps have disappeared from the website (I'm still in subscription period), and so I can't create new routes on my laptop to view on my phone. As others have said, there's zero support available. Will be switching to another App.
DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP.
DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP.
It used to work OK and is still OK just to find where you are when out & about, however features that used to work no longer do - eg you can no longer download GPX files to your phone. Messages to 'Customer Service' are not replied to. No phone number to call.
the best app ever
I really can't understand why here are so many bad reviews have now used this app for over two years never with any issues at all simple to use easy to use and for a change it actually works.
If I could put 0 stars I would
If I could put 0 stars I would. Should be simple to use. Just want to map out a local route to walk on footpaths..... 2 hours later I'm no better off.
Ridiculous app
Ridiculously complicated
Should have save £19.99
Now have to cancel auto subscription! 🤬🤬🤬
Have they stopped supporting their products?
If you go to their web site they have a form for queries. You have to select a phone model. The latest one on their list is an iphone 6, so it is evident this company no longer supports its products properly. Using the app is not easy - deleting routes on my Mac causes a crash error on the iphone, routes cannot be arranged into any logical order, etc.. Nightmare.

I use this regularly and have no issues with the app at all.
I have bought MyMaps and can access them offline, create new routes and it have been a lifesaver when navigating in the Lake District. It could be more intuitive or have a simple explanation on how to work it, but I’ve had no issues at all finding how to do things.
My only issue is that my routes show as private automatically and that means I am unable to share them from the app. I need to login online and download them
Rotten app.
Rotten, badly designed user experience. Illogical navigation. Unresponsive. Poor help. After app update, many Gigs need to be re-downloaded.
Use ViewRanger, which seems much better designed and resourced, and uses the same OS maps.
Stick to map-making, OS, and don't try to be a digital player.
Waste of time and money - I’ve gone through the tool guide three…
I’ve gone through the tool guide three times and I still don’t understand how to use this app - it’s a complete disappointment. I’m fairly tech literate but this is not user friendly at all. I’ve downloaded maps from the app to my phone but they don’t appear anywhere. Absolute waste of time and money.

Totally disappointed in the lack of any response to my messages. It used to be a great app but since the rebuild it’s shocking! My routes are not where they were, others show completed when they haven’t been, I’m off to Viewranger.
As with previous reviewers I used this…
As with previous reviewers I used this App since 2012. Their latest build from the ‘Ground Up’ leaves a lot to be desired.
Where my frustration is based upon is the synchronisation between iPhone iPad and MacBook. OutDoors GPS say you no longer lose a route.
I could not even figure which routes were been saved safely. This only came to light several weeks ago when I tried to delete one on my iPhone. I had a crash error.
They like you to be honest and that I was and told the App was not fit for purpose and development team working on it.
As my phone had more and more routes I couldn’t delete and the same thing was happening on the iPad.
They didn’t show on the web account where your routes are saved hopefully. Many resets took place and even deleting the App off the two devices didn’t help.
I gave up as I could not figure the number of route I should have as there were far more on my phone.
It has been a good app to use in 8 years hence the 3 star but a total nightmare in the past 6 months and OutDoors GPS seem unable to fix it.
Look on the latest Apple reviews before you buy, consider the last 6 months as an indication of what’s going on ! I have just completed their latest questionnaire to tell them I am giving a negative review so they are aware of my concerns.

Be careful of this company
Be careful of this company. I bought a subscription to OS Map s Pro for £19.99 a year using an Apple mini and have had it for several years paying through Itunes. I have now moved onto android and I cannot cancel my subscription. You can only communicate with Outdoors through the support dialogue box which they do not respond to. there is no telephone number.
Intunes keep trying to take a new year's subscription and the only reason they have not taken it is because I refused to update my debit cards details.
This is a disgrace. With a direct debit you can cancel but with this system they can just keep taking your money and ignore you.
Not sure if anyone reads and/or replies…
Not sure if anyone reads and/or replies to these posts but I tend to agree OGPS has gone downhill (no pun intended). I must have written a dozen e-mails on their support page and not a single reply. I seem to recall there used to be a help line several years ago when you could actually talk to someone and get advice on problems. My issues are that I have 200+ routes plotted and they no longer seem to list in date order so finding routes is very time consuming and the whole lot now download to my device rather than the ones I choose to put there
I used to rate this app as truly awesome
I regularly used to rate this app as 5 stars awesome because it did EXACTLY what I wanted it to do without being overcomplicated. Since the total rewrite it is now overcomplicated for my purposes and no longer does what I want it to do. Maybe it's just me but I can't get the popup menu items when you're recording a route to toggle like the previous version and I can't find out how to get OS Gridrefs which are essential to me. I hope, with further updates in the very near future these features will reappear and I will again be able to rate this app as awesome but, in the meantime, please, please, please put version 4 back up for download as a separate version (Outdoors GPS Lite ?).
This was my favoured OS mapping…
This was my favoured OS mapping up.until the update. Now it does not recognise my old subscription. It also keeps re-centering and zooming to my current location even though I'm trying to plan somewhere else. Hopeless.
My experience was good once I…
My experience was good once I understood the app and could record and edit routes on the OS maps purchased. BUT the recent update has been disastrous with recorded routes (over 100) jumbled and no longer in alphabetical or any order, AND all distances doubled as marker points have been repeated randomly on each recorded route and would take hours to delete manually. I have emailed them but don't expect a reply after reading these reviews.
I recently changed my phone and now…
I recently changed my phone and now cannot access the site and my map. The system will not allow me to change my password neither will it accept my original one.
There is no number to phone the company.
Lets see if they respond to my request for help.
Taking a nose dive
I have been using Outdoorsgps for about 7 years and bought maps. Up to about 6 months ago everything was great, however, it seems to have taken a big nose dive. The upload facility on their website just does not work or perhaps 10% of the time, if you are lucky. I just went on to look at my routes and it seems that they have been altered in terms of tags etc. Many links are broken on the website. I just submitted a form for not being able to upload a route and the latest phone choice for Apple was an iphone 6!! The app works well on my iphonexr. Am seriously looking elsewhere...but will be unable to port my bought OS maps I guess. Come on Outdoorsgps ...up your game please, it is a good product, when it works correctly.
Outdoors GPS Failed Prmise
Outdoors GPS
I purchased full coverage of the UK on their promise to update maps on a regular basis. Now almost 10 years on I find my maps in Urban Areas near to useless and a help centre that never responds to questions. Buy at your peril
No good for Android users!
No good for Android users. My brother put me onto this APP having used it very successfully with his i-phone. So I paid the annual fee of £19.99 only to finally find out that the app does not work so well on android and the 1:25k maps are not available as yet and I can only view in 1:50k ratio which is no good. No where was it obvious that this was the case. In fact when I made the payment it said I hadn't subscribed so I foolishly ran through the process again only to find the same problem so I ended up paying £39.98 for something that didn't work. I have asked for a refund 3 times now and have been ignored so I have escalated it to Paypal. Rubbish support as detailed by the other complainant.

This is more related to there app both on android and Apple, basically the app itself is good but there customer service is none existent there is only one way to contact them and that is via email on there webpage. I have emailed them dozens of times rarely do they reply.
Avoid using this company. Maps I've bought do not get downloaded although to be fair on the first occasion this was sorted after emailing them, but the same thing happened again after purchasing another map still waiting for response.
