The tasks were great and I was given enough time frame to complete them.
A great Work Place
I have worked with Outlier for more than 3 months now, and I appreciate every single month of extra income I have earned from Outlier.
Quality submissions sets you apart. Needless to say, quality submissions even unlocks more work, more tasks for you.
Something else that stands out for me, I have always gotten my fair day pay, always...and on time.
I rated it great because the tasks are…
I rated it great because the tasks are simple and clearly explained, and payments are always on time every Tuesday without fail. I also really appreciate how the Outlier agents respond quickly, kindly, and effectively during emergencies.
great experience
Best of its kind!
There are annotation platforms and there’s “Outlier” - the best of its kind. Level of experience and enhanced knowledge I’ve gained goes a long way. You need to join the best team to achieve the best. That’s what Outlier feels like.
Good regular pay
Good regular pay. Great community
Project availability is not consistent.
Fantastic work
Fantastic work, regular payment, strong support chat in place, lots of tasks. Not a scam, work at your pace, get incentives.
Work
I’ve been working with Outlier for some time now, and my experience has been very positive. The platform is intuitive, well-structured, and makes it easy to work efficiently on a variety of interesting tasks. The guidelines are clear, and the overall organization really helps, especially when getting started.
I particularly appreciate the flexibility, which allows me to manage my schedule independently. The support team is also responsive and professional whenever I’ve needed help or clarification. I would highly recommend Outlier to anyone looking for a flexible and rewarding experience.
Excellent experience
I really love this company because they gave me the opportunity as an student to earn a very decent amount by training AI, and now they have offered me a fixed salary position a month ago with a higher role, and I'm totally happy with that. I would really recommend working with Outlier/Scale AI.
Ease of work is paramount
Ease of work is paramount. Outlier is the easiest, most straightforward way to work remotely.
Timely support and timely payments
Outlier has given me the opportunity to…
Outlier has given me the opportunity to make a living while sitting in my computer chair. It's not for everybody, but it's definitely for me.
I "worked" for Outlier as a…
I "worked" for Outlier as a "contractor" from late December 2025 to March 2026 on the Aether --> MultiMango project, which is probably the most sought after project. It pays minimum wage but is generally easy work. They set how many hours you can do (I had 8, then 10 and then 12 per day 7 days a week). I can also confirm that they do pay out, as long as you manage to get through all the forms and complete all the processes. Once you are on, it is fine in that respect. Unless they (The AI)suspects fraud.
This is where the problems begin. If you are educated in any way, then there is a high chance that you will be detected as "using AI", which is against the rules to use AI to train AI. (obviously). They use AI to detect people who are breaking the rules. The problem is that the AI they use is extremely faulty. (These are the same systems that think the American declaration of Independence was written by AI, back in the 1700s).
Their biggest failure is in communication. Firstly you select a project on the site and you complete the tasks. Not all task have a full set of instructions nor do they have the amount of time you should take to complete them. They are improving this all the time, but there are still many that don't. There is also nothing to tell you what to do in extreme cases, which happens more frequently than you would like. The examples are always made with an abundance of resources and make it look very easy, but when you are actually doing them, you find many times that the resources you need are very depleted, which increases the amount of time you need to complete a task.
That is not even the worst part. There is no way to contact anyone to ask for assistance, except for the difficult to navigate forum. The people that can help generally only come online later, depending on where you live of course, and then make up a new thread for that day, way to late for many. Generally, no one gets a reply to any help questions. If you are lucky someone else might reply to your query, but most just go unanswered. They only use it in aggregate. Lots of people are complaining about the same issue then they have a look. There is no way to contact a human to get assistance.
Feedback. One of the biggest problems is feedback. It is a one-way street. Someone may review some of your work and give it score from 3 to 0. Excellent is supposed to be difficult to get. Most should be 2 which is meets requirements. You don't want 1 or 0. However, the person marking it may be working off an old/new set of instructions (they change). They might just be wrong. The task could also have been submitted 2, 3, 4 or more weeks ago, under different rules but marked by to days rules. THERE IS NO APPEALS. Their word is final and that is that. I had around 10 marked 0 and not one of them was justified. I had 15 Excellent over 200 2's I was told that "they don't have any control over the scores, but there are multiple levels of controls in place to ensure they are fair." Well just read my 0s, and you will see that is not true at all. Unfair judgement - Tuff. They say you can write in a forum, however there are no responses to ANY of the posts there, and it states that it is only used in aggregate. Some of my 2s also state "Excellent work, should receive the highest possible mark" but are then marked as 2. Few give comments with the mark. Most are just a score and that is that. Those that do give you a comment, allow you to see what to improve, so if you get a 1, with why it is such, then you can improve your work. Sadly of course you might have submitted 1000 tasks since that one and the changes you make now will not be reflected for some time. There is also another 1000 tasks that will have the same issue. No way to appeal anything at all.
Twice I was "suspended". Why? I still don't know. They do not communicate what is going on or why. Speaking to support is a no-go. Firstly you have to get through the AI chatbot. It should get you to a human. No way. You can get round it by emailing them (They don't tell you that).
I was allowed back in the first time and continued to work for a couple more weeks, then off again. This time, I try to find out why I am off. I am told the generic excuses and that my Outlier account is fine, but I am off the Aether project. I persisted in asking why? What have I done wrong? Nothing but generic answers. Eventually I am told that I have committed fraud, and now I am out completely. Insulted and upset doesn't even cover it. I worked above and beyond, but still I am out.
Is it worth it?
Maybe. You need to be strong. Accept that you will be kicked out for no good reason at some point because the faulty AI said so. It probably helps if you can't spell and don't know how to use punctuation. Sadly, that is the level that will be going into the AI that use the platform. It is very stressful if you are relying on the money from this. When will you be kicked out? They ask fo
Best Platform Ever - My Experience
I’ve heard a lot about Ai training platforms, but ever since I joined Outlier, I can less about the others because it satisfies all I want as an independent contractor as I can’t remember a a week I’ve gone without tasking having been with the platform for more than a year. It’s been a blessing to me ever since I joined in 2024. The platform gives many flexible opportunities to work on several interesting projects, use your skills, collaborate and earn while doing tasks. Once you have several good quality tasks, you join their oracle program and I tell you that program is worth the experience. My experience has been legitimate, with communication and many opportunities to contribute.
Like any platform, some projects are busier than others, but I’ve found it to be a genuine place for remote work and skill-based tasks. If you’re willing to learn, follow instructions, and put in effort, it can be a great opportunity. Several negative things online didn’t match my own experience at all!
Worked with total confidence
To be honest, I waited a very long time (about a year) to start a suitable project. However, once I began working on a project that matched my qualifications, I had a work experience that was both very enjoyable and quite smooth. I worked on the project I was assigned to for one month, and this period was not only the most enjoyable work experience of my life, but it also showed me that I could earn a really good income while doing a job I love. Having complete control over the process gave me an incredible sense of freedom. That’s why I worked with confidence, and I wish I could work like this all the time. Thank you, Outlier, for this amazing experience.
It's real!
You might see lots of reviews and opinions online about companies who offer this kind of work that question their legitimacy, and it's completely reasonable to be hesitant. However, with Outlier, there's no need to be. I've been working with them for the past 2 months now, and I can honestly tell you that it's real. The pay is competitive and I've had no issues with payment. I've been paid the exact amount owed on time, every time. There are also opportunities to earn more through Missions and other incentives too!
Not only that, the work is actually really enjoyable, which I never thought I would say, as I was only looking for some supplemental income to begin with. Being able to contribute to the betterment of AI and knowing that we are contributing to a greater end goal gives a wonderful feeling.
As with anything, there may be some hiccups along the way, but the community is always busy and the team are always there to help and are constantly looking for ways to improve the platform to help make contributing as easy as possible.
If you can follow the task guidelines accurately and consistently, without deviation, you will be fine. It's been a great experience so far, and I hope to continue working with Outlier for the foreseeable future :)
What a loser company
What a miserable company! Over 112 invited 5 star reviews in less than 24 hours!!! Desperately begging for positive reviews by buying them.
Outlier, if you have money to waste on, I can greatfully accept it!!!! Losers
Outlier is such an underrated way to…
Outlier is such an underrated way to earn a living. It is pretty simple and straightforward. It’s honestly a no brainer. I lost my job unexpectedly and if not for outlier, I wouldn’t have survived. You get to be your own boss by choosing your own hours and the income is pretty stable, as you are paid consistently on the same day every week. The support team is also always helpful and you can speak to them in meetings every so often!
