Use a real movers, not these guys

Low budget movers means they will load up your stuff. Stick in somewhere for a month and maybe you get it after about 5 weeks of waiting. Then when your stuff arrives ITS ALL DESTROYED. Only my couch survived. I am missing so much stuff too. BEWARE of these guys cheap but you have to replace everything. They also operate under the name North Pacific van lines. it's so bad I'm filing a small.claims in court if they don't pay for all my damages goods

Dissappointed and no resolutiom to complaint...

Update: After posting this review someone got back to me about our damaged items and pending claim. After defending that their quote was "correct" (I was not speaking of the quote receieved after giving them our item list, I was speaking about the quote we received from their free estimate option on their website), and then telling us "fragile ikea furniture isn't covered" in their policy (our bookshelf they broke was not in fact from Ikea but bought at Giant Tiger and was made of wood), they then asked us to remove this review in order to be compensated for our damaged items. When I told the representative she was literally bribing me to receive money for our damaged items, she "apoligized" and said she just didn't think a 1 star review was fair since we would be compensated. I gave a 1 start review for the poor customer service, for taking 8 weeks to finalize this matter and for the way we were treated during this ordeal. We received $150 today from the company for damages but only after writing reviews and fighting for compensation that should have been offered month ago. The company damaged our items, and provided a poor experience, I just wish they had taken accountability and showed remorse for the stress they caused. My mother in law is battling cancer, we were moving her accross Canada and selling the house so she could be closer to family. We did not need this stress on top of everything going on. I would have ammeneded my review happily if we had experienced any glimpse of good customer service.

I see now the company is "temporarily closed" on google and I doubt we will have any resolution to our awful experience. From the start Pacific Moving, now owned by Centennial Moving, was awful. The quote was off (they did not quote properly for a two bedroom house), there was a $300 additional fee for picking up our belongings from PEI since its "remote" and the day of pick up only one guy arrived. They paid our cousin, who was there to sign off on paperwork since we had already moved, to be his helper for the day. That was so unprofessional and put so much stress on the day. If our cousin has not been able to help, our things I guess just wouldnt have been packed? It took 5 weeks for our belongings to arrive in Regina and again only one guy showed up. He said he had a helper on the way and proceeded to put our stuff on the sidewalk, unattended. We stopped work (we work from home) and went out to help unpack so our stuff wasnt stolen sitting on the curb. The helper arrived 20 minutes late and we had already nearly finished unpacking. Several items were missing or we didnt know where they were, dispatch called us 6 times asking for proof of payment, told us to stop helping the unpacking (despite my explanation that our belongings were sitting unattended on the curb and the driver continued to unpack without his helper), and the driver did not care things were missing or broken. After the moving was done, I submitted a complaint about the broken items only to find out they have an extensive and complicated claim policy that we would not qualify for because we did not inventory and photograph every single one of our items or boxes before moving. They never told us we needed to take photos of each item before packing. We would also need proof of payment for broken items (how would I have receipts for dishes or antique family items??). In the end I was contacted by a complaint department employer once and then have never heard back. We asked for a refund for the broken items, a plastic tote that they broke, a bookshelf that snapped because they stacked too many items on top of it (the truck was a mess, everything fragile was upside down or squished and heavy items were clearly loaded on smaller items) and for the time we spent unloading the truck with thr driver. No response. Theyve ghosted us. I may try to contact centennial moving now since we were told they own pacific but Im not getting my hopes up. Avoid this company! I also felt harrassed for payment constantly. I paid a deposit upfront, then they emailed and asked us to pay via etransfer before our items arrived. I told them no and that it felt scammy to pay such a large sum before seeing my belongings or even having an arrival date scheduled. During the move they kept asking for confirmation I had sent the etranfer, which I had already sent and sent proof of payment for. It was irritating being called 6 times while trying to unpack, even after I snapped at the caller on the phone and explained to her we are unpacking, she still kept calling. In the end, we had broken items, sore backs and no resolution. Dissappionting to say the least.

Charged accordingly

Everything about our complicated move was seamless thanks to everyone at Pacific. They accommodated all our needs at a very busy time for them. Also, all their movers -- both in ON and BC -- were cordial, attentive to detail, and quick. Last, when we ended up having less to more than estimated, they were true to their word and charged us accordingly. Highly recommend.

Such precision

They moved us well! They moved all our household items like it was a military exercise! Such precision. No single item was damaged, not a single item was dented and not a single item was lost. Everything to our exact requirements. These guys did a perfect job! Another part which is great about them is their rates. They are very reasonable and very low compared to the others. All in all, it was a fantastic moving experience. Centennial Moving has the best crew and the best service. We highly recommend them to all.

Needed for new employment

These guys are great. I had to relocate for work and needed to move fast. I contacted several moving companies and Pacific Moving was not only one of the first to respond, but the only company to follow-up with a phone call. They sent me a quote the same day -- their prices were fair and easy to understand. On pick-up day, the team packed all of my belongings. When I unpacked 10 days later, I was surprised to see that not a single thing was damaged. The workers are meticulous and customer service oriented.
A recommendation for potential customers -- it's customary to tip movers for a job well done. This isn't always advertised and there wasn't any pressure, but it's good to know in advance when planning your moving budget.

Should have gone with my gut after speaking with these guys (red flags kept popping up) but reviews seemed to indicate they were good. Turned out to be the most DISHONEST people with one lie after another. Was doing a long distance move from NS to BC dealing with the guys out of Toronto and they assure you of everything until the move takes place.

Vague on whether charge would be by cu ft or weight so calculated both. Had every piece weighed/numbered and had weight from initial move there which we had decided to reduce even more items on return. The move was simple as mainly boxes, no furniture, and we had packaged everything ourselves as hubby used to work as a shipper so was on the truck in no time.

First called a few days before to say couldn’t make it on confirmed date and then said they would but contrary to assurances they don’t contract out sent another company. Those guys assured us would be going immediately to the weigh scale and would send us the ticketed weight - never happened. Then after few requests verbal weight comes in 800 lbs more than ours and refused to provide paper work to substantiate that number. Seems with the Covid shutdowns they were going to make up for the losses on our move. Just gave a balance due on delivery, which was $1700 more than initial move, and when asked for a detailed invoice wouldn’t provide. Said if we wanted the load re-scaled would have to arrange on our own at scale within 10 km to delivery location (which wasn’t possible) and if they were right there would be a penalty. So basically the threat was don’t challenge us. Had initial company that moved us do a rescale which they had no problem doing with no restrictions and they were honest enough to say they were a few hundred pounds off and sent a properly detailed revised invoice.

Then they try delivering without confirmation to ship from storage and for the meet up so there would be an additional fee we would be charged. Going back and forth several times did nothing as they refused repeatedly to provide any paperwork to substantiate everything. The load wasn’t worth the excessive cost and they just kept texting with their threats.

In our whole life as seniors have never dealt with such ruthless people. The gov’t has unregulated this industry and these guys are not affiliated with the Canadian Movers Association who when we called said they had a poor reputation in addition to the guys who did the pick up Centennial Moving who they warned to not go near. The Association said they should provide a proper ticketed weight and invoice but if they refuse nothing can be done.

Bottom line is these are horrible people and although some have had an okay experience you take the chance they won’t do a number on you. People like this should not be allowed to be in business. (See Yelp review by fellow with same experience.)

Edit: Pacific Moving, your apology in attempt to cover your behaviour is appalling. We pleaded with your company over and over to review the weight based on factual data we had and your cold hearted reply was pay the $4000 or we are sending your goods to the dump which is where we assume our possessions went because as seniors we could not afford the amount you were trying to gouge us for. So we now have been left without all our possessions such as our wedding photos, clothing, personal effects, documentation, etc. All was lost due to your deceptive business practices. How people like you sleep at night is a wonder. No apology will cover the damage and stress you put us thru trying heartily to resolve the situation at the time. And reading a review by another customer who you did the same thing to tells us that is how you conduct your business. Our only console is that what you sow you will reap professionally and personally.

Careful and conscientious

I had a great experience with them from pick up in Belleville to delivery in Toronto. Xavier gave me a very competitive rate, even on short notice, with no hidden costs, and was very helpful, quick to respond, and totally dependable. The moving team arrived right on time at both ends and were careful and conscientious in their work. I will definitely be contacting them again for my eventual move back. Very highly recommended!

Teamwork

Mike and his team did a great job with the packing. Phillip and his team did an exemplary job with the move. I've never seen harder workers as these guys! Even to the bitter end they were very polite and agreeable to what we asked of them. Will came back to help me unpack and that was a lifesaver too. He had some very good suggestions as well. I can't say enough of what a wonderful job they did other than they should get a raise!!

Moving commendation

I would like to commend you on the quality of your service and the quality of the moving professionals that took care of the actual long-distance move. Pacific Moving Canada is a great…

Pacific Moving Canada is a great company for moving especially on long distances. They made it easy for me to get the help I needed moving all of my furniture and appliances out of my residence and everything was safely moved so that I never had to worry about anything. I was able to find such a great moving service through them which helped expedite my moving process quickly and efficiently which was much appreciated in the current times we are in. The customer service was phenomenal in my personal experience moving with them. I would recommend them again to anyone in need of a moving service.

Wow, just wow!

Wow, just wow!! Right from the beginning we knew we had the right people to help us transition to our new home in Vancouver. We were supported & kept informed every step of the way, (thank you Eric) until moving days. Execution of the loading was flawless. I’m sure we had the “A Team” assigned to us. Right attitude

Caring company

This is easily the best moving company I have ever worked with. I hired them to move furniture, artwork and boxes from Kelowna to Toronto. The quote, which started online that they followed up with a phone call, turned out to be very accurate and was the most competitive one I collected. The communication was clear and useful-- confirmation before the move inventory, review of logistics, then right before the delivery they let me know when to expect their people within narrow delivery windows. The movers packed and loaded with care and efficiency and a cheerful "no-worries" attitude, even taking on last-minute extra work to help volunteers move bulky furniture we were donating (for a small extra charge) to the donation truck. Great employees and a great company. I can this company cares that the work is being done well and it shows. I highly recommend them.

Complete service

I was previously dealing with another moving outfit and I found them to be too pushy and very vague with pricing and delivery. I found the Pacific through Facebook and was pleasantly surprised when I spoke with Eric, our moving specialist. He was thoughtful and caring and took the time to listen to our needs. Pick up day came and went and I could not be happier. The movers were great but it was really the support and warmth they provided during this stressful time period. Thank you guys every time I called there was always someone there to give me an answer, so thank you for the great service and moving!

What a great job

I am writing this review to let everyone know what a great job Pacific moving did on my long distance move. The movers showed up right on time and delivered all my items with no problems. The move went exactly how it was quoted by the moving company. There were no extra charges or hidden fees; I paid exactly what was quoted. I would recommend them to all my family and friends. In fact, my brother has a small move booked with them.
