I am writing to express my deep…
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding my recent purchase of a Yamaha Tricity 125 from Paddock Motorcycles. As a first-time Yamaha customer, I had high expectations for both the product and the customer service associated with your reputable brand. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory, and I am seeking your assistance in resolving these issues.
Firstly, during the delivery of the motorcycle, the delivery person failed to provide me with the instruction manual, RAC cover details, and spare keys. I had to contact Paddock Motorcycles separately to have these essential items posted to me, causing unnecessary inconvenience and delays.
Furthermore, I suspect that the right-hand handle of the bike was damaged during the delivery process. Although I cannot be completely certain whether the delivery person was at fault, the fact remains that after riding the bike for just 3 miles, the handle came loose, leading to a potentially serious injury. I find it disconcerting that a reputable brand like Yamaha did not equip this bike with more secure bar ends to prevent such incidents.
Upon contacting Paddock Motorcycles to rectify the problem, they initially sounded helpful, giving me hope that the issue would be addressed promptly. However, I waited for two days without receiving any communication from them. Frustrated by the lack of response, I had to chase them to explain my growing frustration. It was then that they informed me to visit my nearest local dealer service to have the issue fixed. When I contacted the local dealer service and explained the situation, I was informed that I would have to wait for over three weeks for the repair to be carried out. This is where I began to lose trust in both your brand and dealers.
The prolonged wait time and lack of prompt action from the local dealer service have left me deeply concerned about the potential future difficulties I might encounter with the bike. Given the circumstances, I have reluctantly decided to return the bike. However, Paddock Motorcycles has made the return process excessively burdensome. As this was a distant sale facilitated through the Auto Trader website, they expect me to bear the cost of returning the item, which amounts to approximately £400. Moreover, they insist that I must be physically present during the returns process. I find this requirement highly unusual, as most online purchases allow for returns without the need for in-person interactions.
Additionally, Paddock Motorcycles has threatened to deduct any damages from the refund amount, despite the fact that there is no cosmetic damage to the bike, apart from the handle issue and the engine not starting. When I sought clarification on whether I would be charged for the existing problem, they suddenly ceased responding to my inquiries. It is both unfair and unreasonable to expect me to undertake an 8-9 hour journey at my own expense, potentially face additional charges, and endure such unnecessary inconvenience. If I were to proceed with the return as currently proposed, I would suffer a financial loss of approximately £1000 within a week of purchasing a brand new bike.
As a consumer, I believe it is my statutory right to return an unsatisfactory item within a reasonable time frame. However, the conditions imposed by Paddock Motorcycles make this process excessively costly, both financially and in terms of the stress and inconvenience I would have to endure. It is disheartening to see that a dealer lacking sympathy towards their clients can tarnish the reputation of a brand like Yamaha.
As I have no hope from this dealer anymore It is my hope that Yamaha, as a reputable brand, upholds its commitment to customer satisfaction and takes appropriate action to rectify this situation.
How a bike dealer should be
Prior to calling at Paddock Motorcycles, Congleton (my town) I had called in to two larger dealers to check the stock out of curiosity. On both occasions I was met with at best indifference and worse, incompetence. Both were either disinterested in my custom or couldn't answer any simple bike related question. I'm not one for knocking a business but I was genuinely shocked by the lack of interest and knowledge. I decided to check out Paddock online and although the used stock was more limited, I noticed some great new bike offers and called in for a chat. I was immediately met with a smiling face and offer of any help if needed. From that moment I was impressed and so pursued my options further. I spoke to Luke who helped me with any and all questions I had and offered me a fantastic deal on a brand new Tracer 9GT which I snapped up. The whole process was smooth and uncomplicated even down to me changing my mind on the bike's colour 2 days before pick up, which Luke sorted without question. If you're looking for good old fashioned impeccable customer service with a friendly bunch of lads, Paddock comes highly recommended (They even deliver nationwide) Really, really pleased. Thanks Luke and the team at Paddock

Big thank you to Jack and Joe.
Big thank you to Jack and Joe. I just purchased a brand new Yamaha T Max Tech Max ( If you have never ridden one you really should try their demo….). A great experience from start to finish and I couldn't recommend them enough! After delivery I received a phone call to make sure I was happy with the bike and Jack emailed me a .pdf of the user manual which I was unable to find on the Yamaha website! Thanks also to Kieran who delivered the scooter down to Essex for me.

Professional, Knowledgeable & Helpful
The staff at Paddocks are very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I picked up my CBR650R and when I got home realised I had an oil leak from somewhere. The Paddocks team immediately sent a van down to pick my bike up, fixed it and dropped it back off the very next day, all free of charge. They also gave me a very fair price on my PX compared to anywhere else. I will definitely be coming back when I fancy something new.

Excellent service from start to finish
Excellent service from start to finish, was looking for a 125cc learner bike, and many places had little to none, nevertheless Paddock Motorcycles showed me all of the stock explaining price and what they can do for me, e.g servicing, fitting L plates making the process a lot easier for a new rider. After I had picked my bike I received videos showing me the bike after it has been serviced and was offered extra services if needed. Picking up the bike was a breeze and even helped me tax it for me when I arrived. All together a great experience for a new rider, and now a month on had no issues with the bike.

Superb dealer with a no hassle approach even went out of there way to get the bike ready within two days and at the last minute I added a tracker.
Good honest sales and service and I have had over 30 bikes and rate this dealer as one of the best !
Excellent service
Wasted days trolling the internet for a R6 drove miles to looked at bikes that weren’t as described , and met lots of dodgy characters.
Decided to order a brand new R7 which was cheaper than a seven year old R6 and probably was a better bike for me . Drove to Paddock motorcycles which was only 20 mins away.Met by friendly staff no hard sell.
There was a few month waiting for the R7.
Salesman Joe explained he he had a ex demo which I looked at ,and with in 10 mins I had bought the bike how easy was that.I asked for the bike to be delivered ,which they said wasn’t a problem ,
The next day I was sent a video of the bike ,showing me all the checks that had been done on the bike by technician Alfie. At the end of the video there was an option for extras ,again no hard sell just click the extras you want. The bike arrived on Friday at the time they said , I was just expecting it to be dropped off by a delivery driver .
Alfie turned up the technician who had inspected the bike ,all the extras I had selected had already put on the bike,he spent time going over the bike with me and answered any questions I had, very friendly and professional.
STAY AWAY
STAY AWAY. Everything I am about to say is true, even though you won’t believe it. Its long but worth a read. I found an oil leak on my brand new R1 which I bought from another garage at the end of Dec 2021. I had done 600 miles on the road, then it had a service at another garage (genuine parts used) and it had been on a dyno to find out the BHP. I was in the process of converting it to a track/race bike when I found an oil leak. On investigation by myself I saw it was coming from the first coil injector, which I took out and found full of oil which I knew should not have been there. I phoned this local Yamaha dealer, as I had just moved house, to give them the business and thought it would be easier as it’s local. I said on phone what the problem was and also that the bike was in bits as it was being converted but it wasn’t fully finished. They couldn’t get me in until a week and a half later, I took the bike as arranged and told the tech the problem and even left the airbox off so it was easy to get to. I waited until after the weekend then rang them on the Monday to be told they haven’t found any oil leak. They said they could find nothing wrong with my bike and to pick the bike up. They charged me £58.80 for nothing. I was perplexed and told them I would check the coil injector again when I got home as I couldn’t understand where the oil had gone. To my horror it was full of oil I was fuming, they had a duty of care yet sent me away with a bike with an oil leak. This is one of the most dangerous things you can have wrong with your bike (life threatening to rider and others on road) Not acceptable in any circumstance. End of. No excuse. I took it straight back and gave the staff a going over for letting a bike out of their workshop with an oil leak. I had shown them where the leak was, and left it for them to sort this time. They said they would get it sorted but it wouldn’t be today. I left it for that day and phoned the following day at 5pm and was told they hadn’t looked at it and wouldn’t be?!? they said the bike had been tampered with by me and they were not letting me have it back until Yamaha had been informed. What?? I was told I had put the oil in on purpose!! Why? A brand new bike!! There was lots said about the bike being a race bike which it is going to be but it’s not at the moment it still had ABS and the coolant was still in radiator so it had not been raced and they were just clutching at straws because I don’t believe they were capable of mending it. (A Yamaha Dealer???) I ended up going and collecting the bike from them. I found the manager to be inept, smug, arrogant and no customer service skills whatsoever. He tried to charge me another hour which I declined and took the bike. I phoned the garage where I bought the bike from the following morning and told them what had happened they were concerned about the leak and they got a Yamaha master tech to ring me straight away.He then sent me to another garage to have the repair done under warranty. I hadn’t even got the bike out of the van from picking it up the night before so took it straight away. It was a rubber seal on the rocker cover that had not been seated properly at factory and it had gone in on itself so it was letting oil in. Nothing had been tampered with or oil added !
They did the work the following day and I picked the bike up a day after. That is how easy it should have been when dealing with a Yamaha dealer. I would not take my bike to Yamaha in Congleton (Paddock Motorcycles) for any work. The management and techs are not upto the job. A full report has been sent to Yamaha expressing my concerns with this dealership and management. Thank goodness I rechecked for the leak otherwise Yamaha Congleton (paddock Motorcycles) could have had blood on their hands. STAY AWAY
