PRTG used to be a solid choice, but the skyrocketing licence prices and the move to a subscription model are a sad joke. You end up paying a lot more money for zero real improvements. The GUI still fe... See more

A super easy to use Networking tool. The software installs cleanly and then automatically and intelligently selects and installs appropriate network probes, even probes that might not have been considered but ultimately provide useful data. It really does make it look like you know what you’re doing by providing fast answers to your networking issues.

If you want on Premises monitoring, then PRTG is pretty much the leader in today's world. There are more pros and cons in the debate between cloud hosted and on premises than I care to dive into, but personally I prefer on premise over cloud hosted because if your internet fails you, the cloud hosted solution is pretty useless in helping you troubleshoot the issue. Naturally Paessler offers a hosted solution as well, if that's your thing.
All of that is beside the point though. The product in question (Paessler, PRTG), is amazing. The implementation is easy. Just a few quick clicks and typing in your network subnets and it is populating every little network device that can be found; even ones you don't know about!!! The sensor licensing makes more sense than charging per host too!! Every single thing about this product is intuitive and once you implement it and have the information it provides, well, you'll be wondering how you ever lived without it in your life. NagiosXI may have more flexibility in it due to its open-source platform and configuration options, but you better know scripting very well. But who wants to spend 30 hours a week writing and editing scripts, trying to get graphs to work correctly, all so you can interface with a GUI that screams 2001.
With that being said, regardless if you are new to the monitoring game, or a seasoned veteran, PRTG is the solution you are looking for.

PRTG Provides us a rich experience in handling Network & Server devices with quality sensors. We are able to get both Realtime as well as historic data with multiple custom attributes. Moreover MIB's are also supported for majority of our branded Devices. It is highly user friendly when compared to its competitors like Zabbix, Observium etc. Overall a great NMS solution for Enterprises.

Excellent and Awesome Monitoring Software

Needs a Linux version.
The Windows Version needs some work, because the Probe often crashes.
but all in all, very good dashboards, very visable if something bad happens.
way better than icinga.

I had a great experience using this awesome product. It is so simple to understand and I am sure most users will attest to this fact. Status updates and info about other accounts logging onto the network are great.
