Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 82 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as abysmal and unresponsive, often struggling to reach a human representative or receive timely assistance. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with their orders, including missing items, incorrect products, and prolonged delays in shipping and fulfillment, sometimes waiting weeks or even months for their glasses. The contact methods provided were often ineffective, with emails going unanswered for days and phone numbers leading to automated bots rather than direct support. Regarding the product itself, many found the toppers to be flimsy, with weak magnets that caused them to fall off easily, and some noted issues with the quality of the frames, such as discoloration or being warped. However, some people did appreciate the concept of interchangeable toppers and found the base glasses to be satisfactory, with accurate prescriptions.

I purchased a clear frame two and a half months ago. First, they were expensive for lenses. But most importantly the clear frame is already discolored and turned to a gross yellow dingey color. I contacted pair customer service and americas best. I was informed by americas best that they know about them having issues. But also was informed by pair customer service that they wouldn’t do anything about it unless it had been less than 30 days! I’m mad they knowing are defective and the company won’t do anything about it! They don’t back their product or have good customer service. Don’t buy from them.

Unfortunately something changed for the…

Unfortunately something changed for the worse in the last year or so.
I've had 2 pairs and placed an order for my 3rd.
1st pair = 6/2022 + 2nd pair = 11/2023 ==> Both these times things were quick and smooth. Initial orders placed, (6/17 + 11/1) and then shipped quickly (6/24, 7 days + 11/6, 5 days).
This 3rd order has gone completely differently and I suspect this will be my last order with them. Order placed 6/5/2025, RX + PD provided, Same day, RX requested, provided again, 6/7 (2 days, 1 business day) checked online and noticed the order still pending PD, provided again. Checked again 6/11 (4 business days) order still not updated, says PD missing, emailed again, and got on their AI-run chat and gave it my PD info. 6/12 (5 business days), my order shows they have all the info and its in an "order placed" status still with the next coming step as "Verifying prescription details"...which if we're counting has been provided to them over 4 times now. Also provided by the AI Chat was information that was not stated before (nor seen in previous orders) that this order process can take 10-14 BUSINESS DAYS. Definitely a lot different than my first two orders where it took only 4 and 7 days, and there might have been weekends in there somewhere).
That's the data. Now here's the rant:
Its not the same. You used to get an email from what appeared to be a person and would respond back. Now you get no response just generated emails that appear to go no where. And while their AI chat was somewhat helpful, it not what it used to be. Additionally, I submitted a request for information as to the reason for the unnecessary delays on 6/11 and though it has been only just over 24 hours, I have received no response at this time.
I love my toppers, and over the 3 years I've been using these glasses I've accumulated quite a few, but this experience will likely be my last as my experience with ordering has gotten so far from what it was, I wonder if others are experiencing the same disappointment?

I was at Americas Best picking out my glasses when i spotted the pair eyewear display. I picked out a clear frame and 2 toppers. The prescription is perfect But i hate the pair glasses. The shape is wrong for me the toppers look like they are stuck on tom of the frame or they stand out like a sore thumb. The glasses slide down my nose cuz of the weight of the magnets and the toppers fall off easily. I am retired can’t afford to replace them and end up not wearing them. It’s past the 30 day return policy so I’m out of luck!!!!! Do your research. Many complaints!!!!!!!!!!

I could not wait until I was able to…

I could not wait until I was able to purchase my Pair Eyewear! I love my eyewear and treat them as an accessory to my wardrobe everyday. I was so excited that I bought 2 readers and 12 toppers to go w my various outfits when my HSA was verified.
The glasses are fine and the toppers are cute, but the magnets are not strong enough to keep the toppers from falling off. They literally fall off all the time and I have lost three of them from the weak magnets. That adds up to over $75. I am a teacher so I do not have $75 to simply throw away.
I think the concept is brilliant but they have to find a way to help the toppers stay on longer before I buy another pair.

Buyer Beware

Where do I begin?
I bought a prescription transition glasses from pair eyewear. Months after receiving my glasses I noticed a flaw that was developing between the two prescriptions which I had checked out with several optometrist office and eyeglass experts.
They all said that it was definitely due to the process of the two prescriptions, quality of lens and I should go back to the company for replacement.
I’ve written at least 30 to 40 emails to pair eyewear in which they promised to send me a new replacement pair which they quickly mysteriously cancelled.
I have written to the owners, and I’m waiting for a response. It has been four months and 30-40 emails and I’ve not reserved an answer.
Buyer beware… Do your homework… Pair eyewear’s Customer service team is lame.

Update May 23

They have been great until now...
I love the glasses and toppers. No problems with them at all. 5 stars. They even made the magnets stronger since I started using them. However, I had a problem with giving my pd on my order today. I didn't realize i didn't have it on my prescription printout. But it wouldn't let me type it into the order. It wanted me to measure it. I didn't need to but needed to put it in so i clicked the button knowing I could not do this because I have no iphone (don't know if they meant I could use android too; only said iphone) nor a computer camera. There was no place or way to type it in. However after I closed the window it said it had my pd. It didn't have the correct one because I didn't do anything. The chat didn't help at all so I looked up the number in search window and called. It was AI and said to me that changes can't be made this late in the order, and I'd have to wait to get them and exchange them. I knew that would take forever. I was mad at this point and I yelled at the thing that I wanted to speak to someone. Then it asked for another chance as i was frustrated. Not frustrated at this point; more like irate. After yelling that I wanted my order cancelled, it finally let me cancel my order. I'm not sure I want to order again. They need to make this easier. No way to cancel an order online. No way to type in pd. Chat is only AI. Ridiculous. But now I have all these toppers...Some are new. My prescription has changed. I'm thoroughly annoyed by this.
update: I ended up ordering them again. I put my pd on the paper with my prescription and uploaded that to my order thinking Id be fine. Nope. It still says I need a pd. I did this on may 15. Then I got the email saying they need pd. I waited a bit, then sent my pd in a reply to that email. That was Monday. It is now wednesday May 22 and they have yet to acknowledge my pd on my order nor get my order moving along. I send a email complaint about it today. I'm losing patience. When will my order be processed?! No way to cancel on the website and you have to yell at the ai on the phone to get her to do anything. I really wanted to have a chance to wear those newer toppers I bought a few months ago but I'm now thinking of cancelling again and selling them all. edit: May 23...still no movement on my order. They have already charged my credit card! Yet no movement or communication on their part. It takes days to process and it takes days to get my order after processing and after 8 days and no communication or movement and I am livid. If I'm not able to cancel this order and get a refund you can rest assured I will not be purchasing from them when my prescription changes in a year. I will be selling all my toppers and moving on. It's asinine how regular customers are being treated. I've bought 3 frames so far, this is the 4th and over 20 toppers. I have been a customer for 4 years! I've even advertised for them! Bragged to people about how cool they are.

Ordered over a month ago and still no glasses!

Placed an order on April 4th... 2 weeks later their tracker showed my order was still being prepared. I contacted customer service and was told they were waiting to process because they thought I should order more expensive lenses. I told them NO, my order was what I wanted. I told them I expected them to rush my order now and they needed to compensate me for wasting my time. It is now April 28. My order is still "being prepared" and their idea of compensation is a $5 gift card, so in order to use it, I will have to spend even more money?!

I was skeptical at first

I was skeptical at first. Decided to jump in and purchased a pair of glasses as well as several toppers for my granddaughter. Absolutely love them. Glasses are great quality and the fact that she can change her look any time she wants is great. Shipping was fast and loved the packaging! Would definitely give 5 out of 5!

Once loyal Broken hearted 💔 customer

I ordered 12 toppers only a few 25$ ones and a few 30$ premium ones. Their website says 3-5 business days for processing and of course whatever method of delivery you choose. I had the standard free delivery which should have been 7 business days. I placed my order on March 11th I waited two weeks didn't hear anything no updates. So I reached out to them. They said "oh, you had a topper out of stock. You can either get a refund, get a store credit or get a replacement topper." I was like well ok I'll just get a replacement topper trusting that paireyewear would keep their word. I told them I wanted the sunglasses. They said ok they would make that arrangement. I was ok with that. So I thought they would send that with my order. Nope. I waited and waited. And to this date I am still waiting for the 30$ topper that I paid for that was not given to me as promised. So then, in the shopify app I get a notification that I would get a shipment it looked like the sunglasses and the other topper that was out of stock. Well that was very confusing. So, I checked the status of my order with their auto bot who stated originally "your order is stuck in the warehouse we apologize for any inconvenience." That was a day or so ago. Today the auto bot says "you have no orders pending.." really?! Now I have zero orders?? I've submitted complaints that have went unaddressed, sent emails with no response except an automated one. At this point I'm very disappointed because I've spent close to 2k with these people if not more. That's how much I liked their toppers. I have since filed a BBB complaint because I now feel as if this company have taken 30$ from me, given me a false promise/expectation and basically overall stole from a once loyal customer. How can a company blatantly lie to consumer with out so much as blinking an eye without a 2nd thought and sleep at night? This issue has turned what was susposed to be a special anniversary gift from my husband to me into a nightmare ruining what was ment to be special. I will never forgive you guys for this. If there is ever a class action lawsuit against you all for false advertisements and failure to render services paid for count me in!

Great glasses! Love all the toppers available

Ordered these glasses about a month back now. Shipped from the US so took some time to come.
The tracking was excellent, packaging perfect.
Cannot fault these glasses. They are very light, extremely comfortable straight out of the box. Of course, like any glasses I needed to adjust them to my face but this was easily done with some warm water and gentle manipulation.
The quality is very good and I just love the clip on sunglasses.
I ordered another topper And it did not fit well so I contacted customer care. Took a few days to get a reply but they were very helpful and advised how to correct the issue.
I will absolutely be ordering from them again in the future.

Love the fluidity

I love being able to match my glasses to my outfits and I love how the magnet is so secure. They get knocked off some times but it’s usually my fault for hitting my glasses off. If you get bored of just one look I’d recommend pair eyewear

Flimsy arms

I bought my second pair of Casper glasses and just like the first pair, the arm broke off. I thought the first pair breaking was a fluke but unfortunately, I didn't have the second pair for even 4 months before they broke. I tried to call customer service, they do not accept calls any longer and refer you to their website for an automated chat that was not helpful. I request to speak with a human and got a response that they would pass along the message and someone would email me. I did not receive a response. I will not buy another pair of glasses from them.

UPDATE: Pair reached out to me via email and stated they would be replacing the broken glasses with a new pair.

No glasses no refund

Ordered my glasses on Monday from their UK website. On Tuesday I received an email from Mac advising that they were unable to provide my prescription lenses and offered a pair with blank lenses or a refund. As I can’t see without my prescription I asked for a refund.
On Wednesday I then received an email from Mac saying they could now provide the prescription lenses but I needed to pay an extra £30. I declined and requested the refund originally offered as I went elsewhere for my glasses.
No response and no refund.
I’ve since emailed again asking when the refund will be processed and still no response. This is not very good customer service and I’m out £151!

Don't work

I was really excited to get these. I got the glasses and they were ok. It was a day or so later that I got my toppers and I was immediately disappointed in them. They look really cheap and, idk-flat? Dull? Then I tried wearing some. The stupid topper fell off 10 times in the first 5 minutes. That was it for me. Really pissed that I spent so much money on this crap. Since I'll only be wearing the base pair I could have gotten way cuter ones elsewhere and spent a lot less.

Pair Eyewear

would like to post a complaint about Pair Eyewear . I bought a pair of eye glasses at America's Best. America's best teamed up with Pair Eyewear. Pair Eyewear has glasses where you can change the look of your glasses with "Toppers". You can not order most toppers through America's Best. You have to order Toppers through Pair Eyewear, online. I ordered 2 Toppers. Total cost 50 bucks. My order was sent 6 weeks ago. Never got them. They sent out a replacement order. I still have not received either order. They use DHL as their third party vendor. DHL is incompetent. I call Pair Eyewear's customer service. They have people who can just speak enough English to understand them. Each order is have called about, I was told to wait 10 days. I wait 10 days. I call back. They say wait another 7 days. Then they will send out a second replacement order. I have been going through this for over 6 weeks. Still have not received either order. My daughter wanted to buy a pair of glasses and Toppers directly through Pair Eyewear, but she is very apprehensive given the bs and money I am dealing with. My advice. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY or their products. Their corporate office is New York, and their distribution is from California. It's not coming from China. I have had letters sent to me from Florida that arrive in 2 days.

These glasses are hot garbage

These glasses are hot garbage. The "toppers" they sell you for $30 are not only cheap looking, but the reflection from the inside of the toppers, once you walk outside, cancels out 40% of your vision. Terrible design, poor execution, worse customer service.

The website had all sorts of annoying hurdles just to get to viewing the frames. No information about types of lenses or prescriptions available (not all frames can support my eye prescription). At some point I got a quote for £80 plus, which was more expensive than my local optician's cheaper range of single vision glasses and my optician would've given me a full eye exam and looked at my retina, checked pressure and advised on cataracts. I can't feel safe ordering online until I understand what is being offered. It feels automated. It probably is.

Their ‘customer service’ is severely…

Their ‘customer service’ is severely lacking. I exchanged my first order and was given store credit. There was an issue with my second order where the magnets weren’t right and the top frames fit incorrectly. The customer service ‘rep’ (which I hesitate to use because I’m fairly certain it was AI) was completely useless, asking me the same questions repeatedly and recommending I ‘just bend the top frame to fit’. After going around in circles I requested a refund. They immediately gave me my options (without acknowledging my frustration). I returned the product and was only refunded the additional $5 I had to pay above store credit amount. It took another five days to make contact with another bot only to discover they had put the remaining $160 on a gift card (for more Pair eyewear), THAT THEY NEVER SENT ME. It would appear their policy is to stay quiet about any remaining funds until the customer jumps through hoops to get it back. I demanded a full refund, which they immediately granted. So I guess there’s that. But remain vigilant if you choose to buy from them. There’s no phone number to call, and the term ‘customer service’ is wildly exaggerated.
