Ordered a smoked brisket online, collected the following day. What can I say? it was nothing short of amazing. Reheated via hot water and my carving knife cut through the brisket without pressure and just had to move the knife backwards and forwards. I toasted the outside of the buns, laid some generous portions of brisket and topped with a small amount of grated cheese. 2 minutes flashed under the grill and a fabulous lunch. My daughter and her partner were still raving about the meat the day after. As a host it was perfect. So easy to re heat, absolutely fantastic taste with someone else doing the hard work of smoking the meat for 20 hours.

Simply the best brisket I have ever tasted. The portions were huge- we had the pitmasters sharing platter with sides. The waiter/server was very friendly. I just wish we had tried it at the beginning of our holiday, so could have gone again. We will return.

We arrived at Pappys excited to experience everything because the Instagram pictures of the food and place look amazing. Party of 9, we sat between 2 booths and the server said ‘your pre order, I don’t think will fill all of you’. Not sure on what planet a server can determine appetite upon arrival, which was rude in itself. When I asked if we could add things to our order the server said ‘you can’t usually but because it is not busy I will allow you order some extras’, at that time there was one other table we’re finishing off. We ordered 2 of the big meat sharing platters which on the pictures on Instagram felt pale enough for us, but we ordered some other loaded nachos and chips. We got our food, it’s not as big as it looks online the pulled pork was tasty and everything else was really fatty. Got the bill… £4.50!!!! For a can of coke, not even a human size can, 2 of those little ones you get 6 of in Tesco for £1.50! Very very expensive for the small(ish) portions and staff are not very friendly/approachable. Disappointed as it seemed so much better on IG! Nearly £18 service charge on the bill which too, was expensive considering the attitude of the server when we arrived.

A hidden jewel in the heart of Kendal. We had a fantastic meal. The staff were lovely. Will be going again for sure.
