A cautionary note

A cautionary note first. This company goes under multiple names. Trex Spiral Stairs, Paragon, SS Industries, etc. Don't be fooled. Original Spiral stair order went fairly well. I had to tap over 90 threads that had not been done, but I was ok doing that. I then ordered a rail for the well opening to match the stairs. What a mess. The product did not meet the measurements on the Docusign file. I figured I would deal with that and fill the gap with a wood extension and paint to match house. Then when installing the upper rail cap, I realized they had no thought on how that would happen at the 90 degree angle. One customer support agent said it should have had a miter cut on the ends. I was passed off to another customer support agent that just asked how long the parts were. I gave that information and no further contact from the company. I sent an email to the sales agent, customer support and several others that I had gathered during the honeymoon phase of ordering. Read receipt shows the email was read. My best guess is they are ghosting me since the real fix would require them to manufacture the part correctly and ship it. Having spent over $21,000 on stairs and railing, I feel dumped on. I hope I can still enjoy seeing those stairs every day. I'll be the one that has to come up with a solution. Learn from my experience, the honeymoon doesn't last long once the deal is done.

Do not purchase stairs from this…

Do not purchase stairs from this company! They promise it is “approved “ by the county I live in in Florida… but not true. They sent this stair with missing parts, the need for additional stabilizing, and many problems. They are very difficult to deal with and basically want to sell you this expensive staircase and be done with you!

A nightmare experience

I ordered a staircase and railing. Admittedly, the staircase was delivered with all the right parts and I was able to install it with experienced contractors. The railing has been a nightmare. It was delivered with two of six major components missing and several boxes of parts missing. After getting Customer Service to acknowledge the error, they confirmed they would manufacture and ship the correct parts but no ETA. Now four months later and numerous email and calls to Customer Service to get an update on the railing and nothing. We finally got a hold of someone who said he'd check status and call back. No call back. He's even gone to the length of blocking my wife on his cell phone since she started calling daily. I may have to resort to legal action so I don't have this huge stairway hole safety hazard for months and months more.

Still don't have my stairs!

My spiral stairs were delivered in October of 2021 and I still do not have a usable staircase as they keep sending me damaged parts...it is now May 31st 2022!!!! The customer service is horrible and the product is of very poor quality. When i ask for my money back...they threaten me with the contract I signed! I wish i would have never done business with this company!

run away

I'm so disappointed with the Paragon stairs. I will be posting a YouTube video showing why?
Quality is 3.5 stars -- quality to value is 1 star -- installation guide 1 star -- Delivery 1 star -- Delivery on time 1 Star - Customer service 0 stars
I paid $8320.00 for Aluminum, 6.0" diameter, black coated,9.5 feet High.
This stair should not cost more the 5K at the most. I was promised this stair is their top of the line. if this is a top-of-line stair, I feel bad for the ones who purchased the lower tier they sell... I do not recommend paragon to anyone at all

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

We wish that we had never started with Paragon/Salter Stairs. We ordered the $11,000 Hutson Staircase on May 21. 2020. We are at the end of a remodel and have finished everything but the staircase. We can’t move into our home until we receive the staircase.

The 900# staircase was delivered on July 9th completely damaged, in a ripped up, shrink wrapped cardboard box. The center pole and 1/3 of the powder coated railing were LOST and the rails gouged. Shameful packaging combined with poor delivery service.

Paragon promised to send another staircase but TWO MONTHS later, they ask us to ship the entire stair back to them.

It took them another 9 days to decide that parts will have to remade and that it MAY be ready in 4 weeks - NO guaranteed date. This is FIVE months after our order was first placed.

Brian Stoume was the sales person. He was so very friendly and helpful while making the sale but now he is a ghost. Jil C in customer service has tried to be helpful and assist us with this nightmare but the company obviously doesn’t care about their customers. Mr. Kahiem Amenra the manager of customer services, is a wall and won’t give us a delivery date, nor assure us that our order is being processed.

Paragon /Salter won’t assure us that the packaging will be adequate, nor that a reliable shipper will be used. I urge everyone NOT to use this company. I can’t believe that they have a A+ rating with the BBB. They should be shut down.

This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. STAY AWAY FROM PARAGON/SALTER. And DO NOT believe their pat COVID response excuse. They have horrible reviews going back for years. See REDDIT reviews for SALTER/PARAGON I wish we had known.
