Staff were super lovely and…
Staff were super lovely and accommodating however the food simply wasn’t up to standard, especially for the price
My dish was lacking in flavour and the added shiitake mushrooms were making the overall meal pretty unpleasant
I also tried the peppercorn sauce dish which was very unpleasant and inedible which was a real shame because I so wanted to love this restaurant

We're pleased to hear that our team were super lovely and accommodating, but are disappointed that you didn't enjoy the shiitake mushrooms (they have an acquired taste) and peppercorn sauce. We always have salt, pepper and cashew 'parmesan' on hand if you want to flavour the sauce / dish to taste. Nice to have lots of vegan pasta to choose from.
Same decor as Vertigo (maybe even the same plates) which feels like you’re taking advantage of the business of an old local favourite. Too expensive for what you get. This is Manchester, not London.

It's nice to hear that you enjoyed our wide selection of pasta dishes! With regards to the exterior decor, we've been unable to update the signage as we're still waiting for approval from the council (fingers crossed we'll get it soon). As for the restaurant interior, we've repainted the place, spruced it up and feel like we've put our own mark on it - we would never take advantage of an old local favourite and are sorry to hear that you feel this way.
As a small independent family-run business, we're trying our best to balance the rising cost of energy, business rates and labour costs whilst offering a high-quality plant-based dining experience; it's not always easy, but we feel like the prices fairly reflect this. Best wishes, Team Pastan
Great vegan pasta
Lovely little spot - very relaxed and informal with good food. Also really nice to see parts done so well as a vegan option, and there’s a decent amount of choice. It’s fairly small so book in advance if going for dinner.

Great food (especially the gnocchi starter). Service was a bit slow due to the fact it is a small and independent establishment, but we did not mind as the atmosphere was great, the chef came over to chat (which we thought was lovely) and the food was worth it.

The food was to die for, the service was prompt and friendly, the atmosphere was so lovely and comfortable, and the cocktails were delicious. What more could I say! We will absolutely be returning regularly. Love this place!!

it's fully vegan
I'm an Italian vegan chef and I liked the pasta. It was tasty and al dente, but I didn't like the carbonara sauce. They didn't use the kala namak salt and the fake bacon wasn't so great. I was there with an Italian friend and she had the same opinion. Overall it was good.
