Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 93 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the user experience to be frustrating and complicated, particularly when trying to order repeat prescriptions or access their accounts. The website and app were frequently criticized for numerous bugs, login issues, and a generally poor user interface, making essential tasks difficult to complete. People often encountered problems with verification codes not arriving, password resets failing, and being locked out of their accounts, leading to significant delays in accessing vital medication. The service itself was deemed unhelpful and inefficient, with many feeling it hindered rather than helped patients, especially those who are elderly or ill, and some noted that their personal data and appointments disappeared. Additionally, the requirement for authenticator apps and multiple verification steps was a major source of frustration, with some comparing the login requirements to be more complex than banking services.

Dysfunctional Patient Access

I attempted to sign in to Patient Access but it temporarily locked me out of my account. I then used NHS log in to no avail.I am 82 years old and have health issues. I wanted to see my recent blood test results but I must wait in deep anxiety and frustration to acquire this vital information which is withheld by recalcitrant operatives totally devoid of empathy.

The site has bee ruined

The sote has bee ruined. I used to use it regularly for repeat prescriptions, test reports etc. The new security layers make it almost impossible to get into. eg it didnt recognise my password (well used); to change my password, it then promised to send a verification code to my phone and didnt, the first time of trying. I finally got onto the app after 35 frustrating minutes.

A total waste of time that does not work

A total waste of time that does not work. It took ages to register and when I finally managed to do so on my partner's behalf it was impossible to book a simple blood test at his GP practise. I wonder how much money was wasted setting this up. My GP practise uses System On Line which works perfectly.

Patient Access and NHS app are…

Patient Access and NHS app are extremely difficult to log into. Having spent the last hour trying to log in I have given up. Too many steps to complete (if you actually a
manage to complete them) sends you to an authenticator app which you have to pay for after free trial. A wait up to 30 minutes for an NHS login security code. Have to reset password everytime I use the app.

Miserable rude staff

Miserable rude staff, so impatient when asked a question, no Good morning/Goodbye. Honestly cannot fathom why top London clinics use this dreadful payment service.

Cookie pop-up is blocking all access

Cannot get past cookie selection pop-up. I have tried Safari and Chrome. I have cleared all website settings in Privacy on my computer. I have pop-ups allowed and no cookies blocked. I have made sure that no VPN is running. This is a huge waste of my taxes.

THIS APP WILL GIVE YOU NIGHTMARES

Utterly useless app!! I need to order medication tried using the app on Saturday morning they told me to use the number generator to get my code, which I did entered the code and the app signed me out. Started the process again same thing I keep getting kicked out the app by the damn app!!
As a result I will run short of medication, as I don’t drive due to disability and the first family member who lives nearby can’t get my prescription to the doctors until tomorrow morning. Very well done Patient Access I hope you’re proud of yourself for leaving me short of medication 🤬.
I also tried to use your troubleshooting tips and that was a waste of time too. You have made things very difficult since you updated the app no password, no memorable word just a stupid number generator that keeps kicking me out of your stupid app. Also do you actually read the reviews that people are posting? I would have to assume that you don’t, as you have never replied to anyone or even apologised for the distress that you have put people through. I would highly urge people to steer clear of this app, and for carers/ family members who are looking after elderly parents or anyone who is ill do not use or trust this app.

I design & build websites

I design & build websites. I could not figure out how to book a simple doctors appointment! All by design - to alleviate stress on the NHS. I dread to think of the elderly suffering because of this debacle.
Already registered my Doctor's but they want you to keep re-entering & confirming your existing Doctor's facility- ridiculous.
