Rude, nasty and incapable

I dropped my clock in for repair. I told him it was very cheap but it had sentimental value. He charged £35 to change the movement. I later found out I could have bought the parts myself and carried out the repair for less than £10. He did not tell how much he would charge before doing it. He told me that he did not want my and my friends clocks in his workshop because they were embarrassing and would affect his professional reputation. When he gave my clock back it still wasn't working properly so I took it back. He then walked past me and my friends outside his premises without saying a word, got in his car and left, so I was left wondering what was happening. Despite his apparent embarrassment, he did not repair my friend’s clock for weeks. In short, this entire experience has left me with the impression that this clock repairer is rude, extortionate, devoid of professionalism, and frankly not even good at doing what he’s supposed to do. It’s put me off dealing with independent traders. I certainly would not recommend leaving your clock in the hands of this arrogant idiot.
