Was very happy with Paycor until the last 6 months. Support is NOT helpful or knowledgeable anymore. The chat bot is a horrible change. Everything keeps breaking or no longer working and support blame... See more

The promise the world and deliver…
The promise the world and deliver nothing! It has been the worst. Once they get you signed up the customer service is non existent!
Do not switch to them. I wish we never would have left Paymaster.
Pay corps will hook you with small charges. And when you choose to leave, because they're too difficult to work with will.Hit you with big fees
Pay corps will hook you with small charges and leave you with big fees.If you choose to leave. They are so compartmentalized that they cannot help you.Unless you are on hold for multiple parts of the company. You're on boarding person will not be the person that handles your issues when they appear.
HORRIBLE support
The only positive thing about Paycor, is the system itself. It's intuitive, lots of features, easy to use. Everything else is awful and primarily their customer support (frustrating, enraging, useless). You wait forever on hold only to get someone who has absolutely no clue what they are talking about and puts you on hold to get answers from someone else and then repeats. They also nickel and dime every chance they get. The amount of fees is insane. They even charge us every time we don't have taxes to file for a state on our account "zero state tax return".Got charged a late processing fee when their imports weren't working and I waited on hold over 30 minutes then requested a call back (never got one). They sent us a 940 for a different company. I could go on...
I've been cursing their name for a couple years now and we just switched. I kept the account open for months while we made sure everything went smoothly in the new system with the data transition. When that was all set I requested a termination. I was told the chat service couldn't, so I submitted a ticket. The answer on the ticket explained how to go into my company profile and request it there. Paycor asked for a term date so I put the following day. Next thing I know we get an invoice claiming "account closure convenience fee". Apparently hidden in a link in our original terms and conditions it states a 30 day notice is required by either party. However, it doesn't mention anything about a fee, nor was it mentioned in chat or the ticket. I have been arguing with them and they claimed the charge is valid and they sent me a copy of our agreement (where it doesn't state this) and a link to a new updated terms and conditions where the fee is discussed. This was totally different than the terms in our contract that I signed. Unfortunately we had autopay setup so they simply took our money and won't give it back. If you need any type of support, good luck.
OUTRAGEOUS Implementation recovery fee
In a nutshell because this goes back months, but to recap, signed with them in late Feb 2025, implementation was stopped due to their broker, coming back with an increase in benefits they had presented, we picked up again in late Aug 2025.
Unfortunately, it was not our intention, but we had to cancel because the benefits presented at the time by their broker, were NOT competitive and would have posed a financial burden on our company. Received an unprofessional email from the person I dealt with for months because it seems he took it personal and failed to understand/care about the financial burden we would have endured if we would have moved forward with them.
Then we received an invoice for $18K (taxes included) which would have been half of their annual fee. Minimal work was done during implementation, EE's weren't even loaded. No way does the minimal work they did constitute a fee for HALF of their annual fee.
I am currently fighting with their collection dept on this.
Paycor was one of the worst customer…
Paycor was one of the worst customer service payroll companies I have worked with. I have worked with 5 different companies and by far they are the worst. They messed up on our taxes 3 times and it took months to get fixed. Also, once you end the contract with them they hit you with a huge fee that is nowhere in the contract. Then when they reach out to them they are so rude and kick you off the system.
From Implementation to ongoing support
From Implementation to ongoing support, Paycor has been subpar. We moved from another payroll company, due to cost and integration of supported services, but we definitely have buyer's remorse. Absolutely horrible customer service!! The implementation team didn't take the time to shepherd the project correctly and then blamed us, as the new customer, for their consistent and egregious errors. Their training is awful, their knowledge guides are awful, their follow-up is awful and the only saving grace, is that the app is easy to use for employees, even though their accruals may be wrong, their point summary may be wrong, and many other issues.
Deserves NEGATIVE Stars
If I could leave zero stars I would. I made the move from ADP to Paycor after the promise of a better experience, and it's been nothing but a hassle since. Paycor failed to make a payment on time to the IRS for our federal taxes (even though they of course swiped the funds from our bank account timely!) and are now trying to say that WE are on the hook for over $5k in penalties that they caused. Support is terrible. Cannot get any responses to any open tickets until you submit a follow-up ASKING for a case status. Had nothing by issues with every report. Customer service is the absolute worst. Stay away from Paycor, unless you want to provide your employees with a less than sub-par payroll experience.
Prepare to be Drained of all your Energy
I believe we were sold a false bill of goods. I've used ADP and my colleague has used UKG and Paycom. All 3 of these are better choices than Paycor. The reviews out here are about poor customer service and getting the runaround. It's all true. We implemented in February and so many problems and complaints from our Admin and client groups. Slow EDI setup connections, missing data, late tax bills causing fines from the IRS, and no one to talk to or if there is a response, it is different every time. This company needs to get it's $#/+ together rather than gaslighting us because we can't read a knowledge article and fix it ourselves.
Utterly woeful
Utterly woeful. The support team simply doesn't care and the Head of Customer Experience just lets customer concerns wash over him. They bounce your requests off to their outsourced providers throwing their hands up saying they can't help. I'm not in the habit of writing bad reviews, but this company is truly awful in every regard.
I have been working with Paycor for 4+…
I have been working with Paycor for 4+ years and rate the customer service a -0! They can't answer questions about their own product or why calculations are incorrect (repeatedly).
A company should have a direct contact with an agent when issues arise. I have worked with ADP in previous companies and there was always an agent assigned to the company. Getting answers from Paycor is like calling a government office. We'll get someone to call you back, which NEVER happens. So spending additional hours reconnecting and rehashing the issue gets another, someone will email you or call you back.
TERRIBLE customer service and watch your bank account closely.
BY FAR THE WORST PAYROLL COMPANY
BY FAR THE WORST PAYROLL COMPANY. 12 YEARS WITH CHARLOTTE PAYROLL WAS EXCELLENT SERVICE. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.
Customer service is TERRIBLE
Customer service is TERRIBLE. Tax department useless we still have Paycor and opened a tax case. Your are NEVER able to speak with the tax department and are told someone will get back in 8 to 12 weeks. It is insane. The platform works but if you need help call before 2pm and you still may get the run around. Seems most of customer service is looking up the answers and doesn't actually know how to use the system. They close your service tickets without ever responding to them and you have to open again and again.
Employee who uses the phone app to…
Employee who uses the phone app to “punch in and out”. Misses 25% of my punches and then supervisor has to enter and confirm. This company is incompetent period. Not sure how they continue to exist.
Zero explanation for why our state taxes were paid late - WHY
We have been Paycor clients for many years, and have remained clients while our company reduced it's workforce numbers, our Paycor invoices increased consistently, year after year. Yesterday, I fired them after a decade of business. While I grew increasingly tired of being directed to 'read a help article' when seeking answers about a glitch in their platform (live support representatives provide no help - they simply paste in 'support' articles), the last straw occurred when Paycor failed to pay our Q4 state taxes on time - and resulted in fine and penalty from the state. When I opened a tax case with Paycor, they conveniently ignored it until I demanded a response. They gave me a boilerplate appeal to submit to our state, but I'm sure I will get stuck paying for their complete incompetence - and why this is not an automated payment is impossible to understand. It is simply impossible that this could have been paid late - by them - when it should have been programmed into their system with very basic code to be paid by a specific date. This is a basic contractual obligation they have - but good luck finding this spelled out ANYWHERE in writing on the platform. A class action lawsuit is what it will take to set this company back on its heels. Beware. Be warned. Something is amiss here.
No accountability
Paycor manages our firm's 401k processing by confirming the requested amount of income from paychecks is contributed to the 401k management company. Paycor failed to make allocated contributions between July 2023 and December 2023 (and most of 2024 but that was rectified by me in the last quarter of the year). After months of going back and forth with them, they only facilitated in making sure our firm's matching for allocations was done for that period of time. My contributions for that period cannot be replaced, meaning all earnings/interest on that money is simply gone. Paycor's mistake lost thousands of dollars from my 401k. They don't care and will do nothing further. They are out nothing and don't seem to care. This is not the way to do business. There is no accountability.
Literally the worst payroll company we…
Literally the worst payroll company we have worked with. Unprofessional and unethical. No formal contract but begin fabricating various policies you were never informed of. Platform is outdated and consistently times out. Getting billed for services not received and being hassled by individual in billing as though they are a collection agency. Misrepresentation of services when selling the product to you and once signed on everyone vanishes. Completely unreliable and overpaying staff and then being told it’s due to algorithms that need to be modified on their end. In the meantime, you’re continually getting billed for services through the month. Taxes not properly removed or paid to the proper tax authority leaving you in debt to the tax agency. No direct account executive or anyone that is there to consistently assist with services and support. Disrespectful client service and even told that we could leave the company if we wish and that if they were in our shoes they would select another company to.
Worst payroll company ever
Sales made promises regarding our integration that ops never even tried to enable. Repeated emails were ignored. That alone is disqualifying, however these clowns get worse. Much worse.
I processed payroll on Friday am for Tuesday's pay date. On Friday 8:30pm, Paycor emailed me to say they had deleted my payroll and I would have to resubmit. Had I missed this message or even been off on Monday, my employees would not have been paid. When I asked what happened, I was told they got busy and payroll is processed "first come, first served." Are you kidding me?
I could go on forever warning about Paycor, just suffice to say, DO NOT USE THEM! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Paycor neglected to process our w-2’s…
Paycor neglected to process our w-2’s and state end of year filings. We closed two business entities and they didn’t perform their filing duties but still charged us a large closure fee. I have reached out 4 times over the last two months for our documents and they refuse to communicate with me. I received a Docusign asking for my ach info with no estimates of cost 2 weeks ago and have emailed, called, and even tried to LinkedIn the rep that sent the email but no one has tried to respond. I was forced to dig through my records and manually work with and pay my accountant to process these forms because I can’t get them to even confirm they weren’t filed. Although I’ve now been contacted by the state dol and dor as confirmation Paycor dropped the ball. Absolute dereliction of their duties. I had trouble with them all throughout our engagement with them and this is the icing on the cake. I can’t recommend against them enough. Awful and I hope their poor practices take them to bankruptcy or acquisition.
I NEVER write negative reviews but I purposely sought out an opportunity to do so in this case. My experience has been THAT BAD!

onboarding does not communicate with…
onboarding does not communicate with implementation; charging fees for Paycor's mistakes seems to be part of their business model; no account rep is championing your cause.
