DO NOT USE

Macbook charger stopped working after less than one year and PCMacs refused to honour 1y warranty. Claimed 'tests' showed product working fine and rejected video evidence of it very clearly not working. Would strongly avoid.

Fire hazard part & terrible customer service.

On 02/02/2021 I ordered a MagSafe 2 replacement 60W power adaptor charger A1435 £26.99 for MacBook pro to replace the original charger in my 2015 Apple MacBook Pro. On 02/12/2021 I used the charger on my MacBook Pro, minutes later sparks and smoke came from the lead which had split where it goes into the charger. I emailed PCMacs explaining what had happened along with photos of the damaged lead.
As the part was not even 12 months old I asked for a full refund.

On 06/12/2021 I received a reply which said
"Hi there we apologise for delayed reply the damage shown in pic was already there ?
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions. Regards PCMacs support"

No name of the person who sent the reply and no contact telephone number. Fortunately the charger was not on the carpet and I was there when it started to charge, the lead was not split when I used it. This was a fire hazard and could have had serious consequences. Needing to use the MacBook Pro for my work I went to the Apple store and bought a genuine one.
My advice to anyone is from a Health & Safety point of view, buy genuine parts.
