Zero communication, where is my food

The driver never calls. A message saying ur delivery appears. I check it's not here. You would think k a phone call from the delivery driver would be the standard protocol. I text stop & shop and they want to charge me 5 bucks to resolve this. This service used to work well. Now the drivers don't know what they are doing. I can't even request a refund. I will never use period or Stop & Shop again

If I could give zero stars I would!

If I could give zero stars I would!! Absolutely horrible!!! I just had surgery the other day and I placed an order for a certain time, unfortunately it took longer then anticipated. I get home and my food isn't there I call up customer service and got this real nasty woman on the phone who was ready to curse me out. I told her I just had surgery it took longer than they thought plus I can't drive for awhile she said "that's not my problem, you scheduled for delivery and weren't home so our driver left." I told her I'm a single mom of 2 kids she said again "not my problem." She said the best I can do is reschedule for today. So she put it in for today now my surgery is to my leg. My phone rings it's the driver she's telling me the gate to my community isn't opening that I need to get there and open the gate. I told her there's noway I can do that, I just had surgery to my leg, I have a baby I told her the code and she said it's not working that either I get there and open the gate or she's leaving. I told I can't, her response was I'm leaving. WTF!!!! The gate code is in the instructions. So i call customer service again tell them the issue and they defend her. So to pea pod I say this screw you!!! You are horrible!!

Horrible service abusive driver

Horrible service. It just keeps getting worse. Do you even background check your drivers? For the third time one of your drivers (same one) mouthed off on me and screamed at me for not coming to the door fast enough (using my name like he knew me) after pounding on it like a gorilla. He was over a half hour late but screamed I needed to be present during delivery hours. He complained he had to deliver to the third floor, which is actually just 2nd because of the basement apartment. He demanded to know how long I had been a customer - which is over 10 years. I work at home and couldn't answer right away because I was on the phone with a client and had to even close the door to the room I was in so they couldn't hear him bellowing. This is really scary. I also feel it may be retaliation because I won't give a tip to anyone so abusive. I don't even feel safe opening my door now, and so next time I will call the police and you can speak to an attorney. Peapod is always late, so I can't even gauge what time they will be here - it could be an hour to three hours late. Usually most drivers just give a light knock on the door and leave the groceries. I get damaged items, out of date items, and missing items. Sometimes the bags are disgusting on the bottom - I don't feel the trucks are clean.

Positive review of Peapod, driver and delivery

Oh, Ryan Daron delivered my Peapod delivery yesterday, May 2, and did an excellent job. He was considerate, gave me information that I needed, and was an overall caring individual. He also informed me about a dozen of broken eggs and that he would credit my account and he did so. I think he should get a raise. Excellent employee and driver.

Over charged

My online order was $130 and the store over charged me $152. Sorry But $22 is a big difference
Call the store and assistant manager John McLean had a bad attitude and addressed me by yelling at me instead of explaining why I was over charged. I called Corporate and they are as useless as the assistant manager. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. YOU STOLE MY MONEY BUT THIS IS THE LAST TIME. ALSO REPORTING PEAPOD TO THE BBB. SADLY DISAPPOINTED

Worst delivery service

Worst delivery service. Dumped my groceries in front of my door without ringing or knocking. Left without leaving an entire bag of groceries. Getting in touch with someone was a nightmare. Last time ever.

It's been a mix

It's been a mix. Sometimes, we get amazing shoppers who do a great job--especially in the intense waves of the pandemic. Lately though, I don't know--it hasn't been devastating but we just seem to get lazy shoppers now who cut corners and bring back weird things--wrong sizes happening a lot. I just want cheap whole milk but we got two organic, half-gallon, glass jugs of milk instead for twice the price. I have kind of enjoyed just going back to the stores myself lately.

All positive experiences

We’ve had all positive experiences with Peapod. Sometimes items have been out of stock throughout Covid, but that is to be expected. Deliveries always come when scheduled and drivers are extremely friendly.

I ordered groceries and had to wait 2…

I ordered groceries and had to wait 2 weeks for them during the pandemic. The driver refused to leave my groceries on the porch. Instead he canceled my order because I wasn’t here to accept them. I don’t want any contact with anyone.

BEWARE-DO NOT USE

Live in the midwest, used Peapod for about 3 yrs. Had never used this kind of service before. At first it was good, although pricey, out-of-stock on occasion, drivers were overall excellent, customer service if needed just ok. Feb 2020 company decided to discontinue service, no notice to customers, allowed orders to be placed w/delivery time confirmed, order never rec'd & customer service calls not returned. I would never recommend Peapod anywhere in the US. Shame on their senior management. Pathetic.

Always had stellar experience pre-COVID19 but now it's a huge hassle

Always had stellar experience ordering from them pre COVID19 - timely, swift, professional.

Now, the COVID19 process is quite difficult - nearly impossible to get a delivery slot, have to place order to confirm slot (which I didn't realize until I lost my slot), and no good way to contact support if there are problems (like not receiving a third of your items that were billed).

FORTUNATELY, after 2 weeks of constant calls and emails into nothingness, I FINALLY got a hold of an actual person (after 1 hr 45m hold) and SHE WAS GREAT. She tried to find my missing items and have them redelivered (of course there were no slots available) so she refunded my money and gave a generous credit for next order. She also advised how best to reach support and was very empathetic of the situation. I was ready to write them off but the rep restored my faith in Peapod enough to try them again in our current situation.

Great experience

I've only used them once, and the delivery was yesterday. The delivery guy did it "contactless" so he unloaded everything right at the door of my apartment, and left.
Very competitive prices, and outstanding selection/quality/etc.

No complaints at all.

Peapod's big mistake: no way or effort to fix it

Ordering process was fine, I guess. I placed an order several days in advance and requested a drop off. They didn't drop off. Just before delivery, someone had flagged my order as containing alcohol, ID required. If there had been any notice at the time the order was placed, maybe we could have corrected the mistake. Based on what happened later, I'm not even sure of that.

Here are many ways Peapod's customer service failed: I first learned of Peapod's error when I received a text the delivery was on its way with alcohol etc. I responded to the text! I received an auto-reply "respond with HELP for help". I responded with "HELP". The auto reply to that was to tell me if I need help, to seek it another way. (i.e. texting HELP does nothing to help or to get you in touch with help.) Voice calls were not possible for me. The poor driver was calling me while I kept texting Peapod over and over. Apparently Peapod can receive information from the customer but does not pass it on to the driver. Looked for other means of help. I logged into my email. I saw the order confirmation email and one saying they were on their way. Both emails did not allow an email reply. A third attempt: finding contact info through their site, I sent multiple messages through the web. No response yet. The driver left with the groceries. Complete silence from Peapod.

Several hours now. I will keep updating this review.
8 hours with no remedy or response from Peapod. No text, no email, no response to my emails or texts, no notifications within Peapod's own interface (signed into account).

2 Days and counting. I have used every customer service channel available to me (contact numbers, emails, and their account portal). The account portal says "You don't have any notifications at this time." The rest are all silent. It does not seem Peapod is making any effort to send my order, fix their mistake, contact me on their own, or even respond to my inquiries. Bizarre.

Anyone can make a mistake. But not even trying to fix it is something else entirely. I don't think I can do business with a company that does that. I have to strongly recommend against using Peapod. Even if it was not such a big blunder--a grocery delivery company that didn't deliver my groceries--I could not trust a company that has mechanisms to take your money but is otherwise completely unresponsive.

It's been well over a week. My credit card company is reversing the charge. Except for one "Welcome to Peapod!" message, I have heard nothing from the company since the failed delivery and my many requests for help. No responses to any of my messages via any method.

When I lived in Chicago

When I lived in Chicago, I used their service all the time and I never had a situation where they were out of a product I really like their easy to use website where it remembers past purchases and you can add things to your favorites which made it easy to reorder. I've used them several times now in Milwaukee and they still have great professional delivery personnel - the only time I missed a delivery is when I had a new phone turned on off by mistake. :)

Now I'm stuck with Instacart and Shipt, which are not high rated on Trustpilot. Peapod is a couple of dollars more for delivery but its's better than the instacart people who tell me I need to come get what they delivered - Apparently they don't understand door to door delivery.

Personally, I order so I don't have to shop, while the other grocers text me anxiously saying they are out of something - making me anxious in the whole process!

Acid Poison

Olive oil came with almost half hydro-something acid. All celery was soaked or sprayed with acid. One walnut oil was probably good, the other two were burnt. Cayenne packets and a bottle of Cayenne were good (could not sense an issue).

Very shady delivery-man. Not a good company, very whiny and corrupt.

PeaPod delivers groceries!

PeaPod delivers groceries when you want. You make the delivery decision by choosing open times. First you sign up for the service. Then, through an online catalog, you choose you food buys for that week. In addition to food, you will find everything that you buy in any standard grocery store (ie: toilet paper, pledge, horseradish, etc). Delivery is quick and pleasant. Drivers are great - never met an unfriendly one. Product is replaced immediately if there is a problem. I gave this Company 5 stars because it is a five-star Establishment.

Excellent and trustworthy grocery…

Excellent and trustworthy grocery delivery service. Provides almost all the foods you need, and delivers in a professional manner. Everything comes in perfect condition, the delivery drivers have been on time, and it saves me time through the past orders. Easy to use site, and service. Would highly recommend Peapod for grocery deliveries to anyone. It's the best one I've used for delivery!
