Definitively the worse user experience in the world - Italy at its worse. A classic example of provincialism, bureaucratic idiocy, inability to set up a very simple digital solution and an insult to travelers and tourists. Try as much as you can to avoid it, as you will lose lots of time and temper to make what should be a simple payment

Unfortunately I have to give 1 star to write something. I would give zero stars if possible! As a tourist I accept toll fees, but the payment process is so confusing and complicated, that I recommend to navigate around pedemontana roads. You'll be faster if factor in time needed for payment.

I had to use my mobile to take a picture of the webadress while driving, now i am directed to a site that does not work on mobile, best to bring a desktop computer along on holiday. To think that a state like Genua cant even make a mobile site, must be terrible for the citicens living there.. 3rd world Genua

Paying this damned "free-flow" highway is a true nightmare. Although you want to pay in good faith, the risk is high to dump your holidays getting sick over the phone or internet (A PC IS REQUESTED TO TRY TO PAY ONLINE, A MOBILE MAY NOT BE SUITABLE....). And you've got to do that within 14 days. Let alone the super high fares for few kilometers - a true shame, baring in mind that the sharholder is the Region Lombardy!!!

I received the first invoice on Nov 12, 2024 for apparently passing a toll 6 1/2 years ago (May 20, 2018): E 1,70 + E 8,56 for late payment....
I was blissfully unaware of this new practice and I certainly did not notice the signage. Even if I had, it would have been impossible - and illegal - to write down the website and/or the payment terms while driving.
The claim has then been assigned to an agent that does not speak English.
While I don't mind to pay tolls, I find this concept not just legally questionable but also morally disgusting, particularly for foreigners and/or non-locals.
Nobody will take legal action against this practice for smaller amounts of money and there are no references to where an appeal can be made (is there some kind of 'ombudsman' or supervisory body outside the civil courts?).
This means that this distasteful practice will just continue, preying on drivers that will just have to pay excessive fees for late payment.

Europe should ban their ‘toll road without tollgates’! This is an outright barrier to free movement for foreigners. Their website and emails are not always in English. The toll charged was excessive for the short distance travelled. Motorists should concentrate on traffic instead of these convenience toll announcements without toll gates.

It’s easier to get a kidney’s transplant than open an account. Italy is the kingdom of bureaucracy and complication.

Unbelievable, they do not update your toll bill in their website and then send the bill by post two month later with extra charge because you have not paid in time.
It happened three time already.
It is the worst type of company.

The idea of having a highway with automatic tolls is brilliant but their system is very poor. They said they sent me a letter with unpaid tolls that I never received and then it ended up going to a collection office! And pedemontana is blaming the POSTA but bottomline, I will be the one paying a fine for not receiving a letter. Why don't they use a better postal service to ensure the letters are received? I mean if I paid all of the other tolls but not that one, don't you guys think it is maybe because I never got the letter and not because I refused to?
