Brilliant Support and Excellent Service

I had a great experience using Pennine Kennedy Solicitors for my recent flat purchase. As a first-time buyer, I naturally had a lot of questions and uncertainties about the legal side of things. My main point of contact, Noman, was absolutely fantastic. He was always approachable, incredibly patient, and gracefully addressed every single query I had throughout the process. I highly recommend Pennine Kennedy for their professional and supportive service!

My house sale was not the straightforward process I had been hoping for but my conveyancing solicitor, Kathryn Congden, has been diligent throughout. She brought everything to a successful conclusion today and I cannot thank her enough for her sterling work in providing me with all the necessary information when needed and following through on any questions raised. I therefore cannot recommend her enough to future vendors/buyers.

I recently purchased a flat and had a great experience working with this solicitor firm. From start to finish, their team was professional, responsive, and highly knowledgeable. They guided me through every step of the process clearly and made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and manageable.
I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy solicitor when buying a property.

Very poor conveyancing experience

Very poor conveyancing experience – serious concerns about competency, handling and continuity
I had an extremely poor experience with this conveyancing firm and would not choose to use them again.
From the outset, my matter suffered from a lack of continuity and oversight. Over the course of the transaction, my file was repeatedly reassigned to different trainees or paralegals, often with little or no handover. This resulted in delays, inconsistent advice, and the need to repeatedly re-explain issues that should already have been understood.
Key risks were not flagged to me, they did not take my instructions & when risks I flagged to them materialised, they did nothing to get the conveyance back on track.

As a result of how my matter was handled, I have suffered significant financial loss (almost £100k) and prolonged stress. I have since had to seek independent legal advice to db.understand what went wrong and what options were available to me and it's clear that this was an abysmal conveyancing service.

To add insult to injury, they firm was refused to give me my conveyancing file for another lawyer to come in & salvage things- this is to try & cover their tracks.
Its a shame that such poor legal professionals are allowed to operate in the UK legal profession.

It is for all of the above & other reasons that I wouldn't recommend a firm like this to my enemy, unfortunately. They've had ample time to remedy things, they won't they'd rather destroy the entire conveyance to cover for themselves. I now have to take them to court to be made whole.

Noman was very impressive with his speed in responding to emails and taking action to get things moving swiftly. He was able to complete the purchase in under two weeks which is highly impressive! I would highly recommend using this firm to anyone looking to purchase property in a professional and timely manner without complications.

Mushroom Man (kept in the dark and fed on !!!! )

They talk the talk but hide behind processes when investigated or challenged and have refused to answer emails or complaints. I have found them neglectful in their duty of care to me as a client and other clients involved with the same investment property purchase. Even the SRA and Legal Ombudsman turn a blind eye to their incompetence?
I won't name names as that is petty but would urge anyone to think twice before instructing PK to do more than the simplest of tasks,

Gold Standard ;- High standards repeated and integral to firm

Having sold a house 120 miles away in 2024 and receiving superb service from Kathryn at Pennine Kennedy, I had no hesitation in using this firm for my next purchase (in Warwick).
Each time I buy or sell I have felt the amount of admin becomes exponentially greater.....not this time! Susannah dealt with everything with superb efficiency and quiet thoroughness; the whole process from viewing the property to exchange of contracts took 40 days...my 7th purchase and a record time-wise! On Completion day; all done just after 9am....superb!

Unprofessional solicitor, steer clear.

This review is about the solicitors Pennine Kennedy. It has taken 2 years to go through the legal ombudsman. The company were totally unprofessional, a terrible experience for the beneficiaries of my dear Uncle's Will. The legal ombudsman has agreed that the company failed to respond to my complaint. The legal ombudsman also agreed that the firm failed to respond to questions raised by the beneficiaries. Decision 27.05.2025. I have to say that the original complaint had 13 points which were watered down due to legal procedures and areas outside of the remit of the ombudsman. Because of this I decided to disagree with the findings of the ombudsman, however I am glad that the failings of this firm are all on record. This firm caused a lot of emotional stress for myself and many of my cousins who were beneficiaries. Our dear Uncle passed away in Nov 2020, probate was granted in Dec 2021, the house was sold in April 2022 yet monies were not paid until September 2022. Although there were many beneficiaries, the firm knew they could simply contact me to receive and relay information easily and quickly. We had to keep asking and sending our personal details again and again. The firm did not make contact or give clear instructions to the beneficiaries despite constant asking for guidance from the beneficiaries. The estate was quite straightforward, a house sale and all monies were in easy access accounts. The firm have never responded to my official complaint made in June 2022. The ceo rang me, but did not address my complaint, he gave excuses about staff changes, sang his own praises and made promises which he did not keep. The firm had told the Solicitors Registration Authority that they would address my complaint but they did not. The firm have not followed their own complaints procedure. Despite approaching SRA and going through the process with the legal ombudsman, we are left with many questions about our Uncle's estate with regard to the very brief details provided in the statement of accounts. The firm caused a lot of stress in providing this too and the very poor information in the statement of accounts was finally provided, again after may times asking, in November 2022. The firm also charged very high fees, a basic rate at £2,800 and 1.5% of the GROSS estate meaning they received a similar payment to beneficiaries. Our dear Uncle would be furious to know this. Needless to say, I would not use this unprofessional firm and do not recommend them.

I was shocked by this company and very disappointed and concerned. I told them I would make things public online and they sent two emails which I believe were intended to apply a chilling effect. Perhaps this is their regular tactic to suppress negative reviews? I do not know for sure but it would explain a lot in my opinion and I doubt I am the first person to receive such emails. Those emails have actually made me more determined to publish the facts and the things I have uncovered. I am compiling the evidence now and intend to publish full details asap. For now all I would say if anybody asked me if I could recommend them would be to stay well clear.

Very Disappointing Experience

I had a disappointing experience with Pennine Kennedy during a recent property purchase in the UK. I was assigned Noman Hassan and Zakia Razzaq as my points of contact and was under the impression they would provide legal guidance. However, I found that they primarily acted as intermediaries rather than offering proper legal advice. In particular, Noman Hassan gave me inaccurate assurances, and I was later surprised to discover contract terms that contradicted what I had been told. Their service felt unhelpful and transactional and I had to follow up multiple times, with little regard for client protection. Their fees were high, and at times it felt as though their interests were aligned more with the seller’s solicitors than with mine. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative legal representation.

Exceptional service from Kathryn and Shah

I cannot speak highly enough of Kathryn and Shah, who provided exceptional conveyancing services during my recent property purchase. From the very beginning, they were not only professional but also incredibly approachable, making me feel confident and supported throughout the entire process. Despite a third-party issue that caused a slight delay, they handled every challenge with remarkable speed and efficiency.

What truly set them apart was how seamlessly they worked together and with other parties involved in the transaction. Their communication and coordination with the seller's team, solicitors, and various third parties were flawless, ensuring everything moved forward without unnecessary delays. They made sure I was kept informed every step of the way, always responding promptly to any questions I had and providing clear, helpful guidance.

Thanks to their hard work, collaborative spirit, and expertise, what could have been a stressful experience turned into one of the quickest property transactions I’ve ever had—completed in just five weeks.

Kathryn and Shah went above and beyond, and I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone in need of reliable, professional, and efficient conveyancers. They truly exceeded my expectations and made the whole process seamless.
