Everyone needs to try Penny

Penny is such a easy app to use. If you're like me and have moved jobs over the years, you can guarantee you start a new job, you have a new pension provider... then (if you're like me again) you forget the old pension providers you've had. I saw an advert for Penny, and thought what have I got to lose? Pick the old pension providers (if you can remember them... if not don't worry) you get to chose from a list click on the pensions you have paid into / possibly paid into and Penny do the rest. They keep you updated as they search for your pensions, updating you as to if ones been found, and the updates how the search is going. I was surprised with my results... I've 2 pensions still being searched for... and had 2 found. I honestly did not know I had the money I had in my pension, it was a really great surprise bearing in mind, I couldn't remember what pensions I had. Give Penny a try, like me what have you got to lose? You might have a lot to gain.

Brilliant service...

The team have been brilliant chasing my pensions from day one, it's not been easy after spending years moving from one construction scheme to another, but we are finally getting somewhere. The team are always quick to respond to any queries.

Excellent customer service

I believe this is quite a new company - great concept for people like me who have had a lot of jobs and have small pensions held here there and everywhere, Penny will put them into one pot for you and also track your active current pension. Their customer service is very responsive - generally reply within the hour to any queries. I’ve had a few hiccups with the process but they have been resolved in a timely fashion. My only advice would be that you do need to know who your pension providers are to simplify the process as they won’t just search every single provider for the possibility of a pension you might hold. I will be sticking with them.

4 months in "Pending" - No support.

All in "Pending" around 6 months after I started the search. Also, if your initial 5 searches don't find your pensions. That's it. You're done. No more help for you.

Basically, the service that claims to "Locate and consolidate all of your pensions" only works if you've worked fewer than 5 jobs in your entire life, and you remember the pension services used by all of them. Because you only get 5 chances to search, and after that, Penny is done helping you. In short, you have to do it yourself, or Penny will prevent you from completing the process.

Very disappointing service

I have 3 opted out pensions that took Penny 6 weeks to not find. I don’t know why they don’t ask for policy numbers at the start as surely that might have speeded things up. I ended up cancelling the first transfer and closing my account as the waiting (and lack of any communication) was unacceptable in my opinion. If they are taking 0.97% of more than 70 grand every year, then I would expect them to provide a more robust service. Overall a very disappointing experience for me.

First, I want to thank you for your feedback, though we are very sorry that you had a poor experience with Penny.
Unfortunately for some of the older providers, it can take several weeks to locate pension policies, simply because they take that long to respond to our information requests. Their systems are old and manual, and we're working hard to deliver everything rapidly our end, but sometimes hit third-party limitations.

We have initiated an investigation to discover why you weren't receive the regular communications which are a key part of our service. We will fix this!

Just to clarify, our management fee is 0.75%, much lower than the fee you quoted.

On Policy Numbers, our next app update includes functionality for these, as you are right, it can accelerate the process with some providers (not all, unfortunately!).

I would personally like to invite you to try Penny again. Please drop me a message and we'll do everything we can to give you the full, perfect Penny experience.

Fantastic
