We have used various exchange platforms over a period of 20 years or more, and in our view PLU is the best of them.

It is friendly, flexible and positive, and there is no over-commercialisation, upselling or advert bombardment. They are also great communicators.

We'd recommend PLU unreservedly.

The PLU experience is fresh and different from other home exchange sites, which makes it interesting. I do find the 'currency' (Plutos) used for exchanging homes non-reciprically ambiguous as I prefer a 'points' based 'currency' which makes exchanging fairer in my opinion, but for house swapping at the same time PLU is easy to use. While there aren't as many homes listed it makes it harder to find somewhere to stay sometimes, especially as there are a lot of homes which are not signed up, which can be restrictive. PLU could also benefit from introducing an app but the website is efficient.

This is a great trustworthy house swap site. You pay one fee a year for as many swaps as you like - no money exchanges between the swappers. There’s a very responsive real person chat line for help. You can get to know other swappers through their FB group.

It was the fastest and easiest exchange confirmation ever! One of those examples of this destination was not on my radar (Tucson) but it fit into our travel schedule so we went for it. So excited to be using a Globe to stay at an incredibe house in Tucson this April.

Communications with our hosts has been easy, however, since we are new to this, we are still finding challenges with the website. We thought we had finalised an exchange but in fact, our hosts informed us that we had not followed the formal proposal correctly. We required assistance to work through the steps, which suggests the process needs to be clearer.

This is the best home exchange community in the world! The service, the people, the places are all top notch! We had so many wonderful experiences, visited beautiful places and made friends with some amazing people!!

We have had the most incredible travel experiences using this site, and met and made wonderful friends for life. A lot of people think it's too good to be true, and that you have to have a nice house. Some of them are truly gorgeous! But it's really about what fits people's timelines and location. Meeting people is the best part. My husband and I plan to capitalize on using People Like Us A LOT in our upcoming retirement, and we couldn't be more excited.

Support. It was an unexpected surprise that someone from PLU contacted us shortly after we joined, to check in, see how we're doing, invite our questions and then another member checked in about a month after that, to provide feedback on our listing. That made us feel like we were being welcomed to the community in a personal way. That set us up so nicely. It felt like we suddenly had some new friends on the other side of the globe! What a great kick off to the adventures ahead.

People Like Us is the best home exchange company out out there. The PLU community is engaged, kind and eager to help each other have amazing travel experiences. The company leaders are in touch with their members and very responsive to member suggestions. If you're going to give home exchanging a try this is the place to start.

We are very happy with the way the system works. The most important aspect is to be honest and fair when making a comment about your guests etc. The whole ethos of PLU is trust.
