Initially used them as they were the cheapest although to pay over 12 months was extortionate, so I paid it all at once.
Tried to change my address through their bot, tried about 7 or 8 times from my laptop and my phone where I would get to the end of the process and it failed.
I then emailed them and after 5 days, no response
I decided to give them a call, only problem is there is no phone number for customer services.
I only got through to them when I found a claims number and asked them to contact the customer services and tell them I needed to change my address.
After changing address I expected a charge which I got, but they also put my insurance up, two other members of my family did the same address change but there's were
either the same or went down?
Looking at everything on the whole I wish I never dealt with them, as soon as my insurance is over I will not renewing even if they're the cheapest

I unfortunately had a RTA and I can tell you the process of dealing with an online company with no human to talk to has mad my life hell , I am now therefore very low and struggling as I have no car , which is still sat on my drive way
No courtesy car as they still haven’t got an engineer out to look at it or take it away
It’s getting on for a week since my accident and the communication is horrific
You do t get to speak to anyone at peppercorn and they push you to their 3rd party who give absolutely zero compassion and I’m left chasing via messages or calling a third party who are doing nothing
With no car and I’m a single mum and nurse and trying to balance everything without a car is horrific
PLEASE AVOID this company at all costs

I wrote a bad review for this company a few months ago and it’s been removed! Making sure to review again as Peppercorn is a horrendous company to deal with - only good at giving you a PDF to show you’re ‘insured’ and that’s it. Long story short, they cancelled my insurance down to their own faults (giving me less that 5 hours cancellation notice via email), said they had no way for me to contact them via phone (completely online service), totally refused to revalidate my insurance and said it was not possible for them to rectify their mistake of cancelling. Lost 6 months no claims, had to find new insurance immediately, and felt they did not care less (offer of compensation was next to nothing - spent hours and hours with back and forth emails and messages to them). I’ve reported them to the Ombudsman - really encourage everyone to do so as this company is not fit for purpose.

At the beginning everything was fine they had offered a way better price on the market than everyone else.
Then was involved in an accident that the third party were to blame for which resulted in their car being written off and my vehicle being taken in for repairs. This took place end of February. During the process they handed over the claim to Davies group who dealt with the repairs. Bearing in mind this happened February we was given a hire vehicle a week later which we had until end of the may with the understanding that the vehicle will be repaired or written of with a pay out of the vehicle. But this did not happen instead Auxillis had informed the vehicle had been written off and Auxillis had taken back their hire vehicle. so Davies group contacted me to ask for details in order to process a payout. Sent all the relevant details and there was radio silence didn’t hear back from them for two months. After this I was then contacted by S&G who were going to be taking over the repairs of the vehicle. They did a better job of keeping me in the loop and giving updates on the status of the vehicle repairs after me having to contact them constantly asking for updates. We finally received the car back at the start of August. So that took 6 months for the car to be repaired I thought it claim was closed. Now it’s September the policy hasn’t been renewed I contact peppercorn to ask about the status of the no claims bonus they have told me “As it stands your claim remains open and has a cost occurred to Peppercorn which is why your NCB will be affected. If your claim officially settles "non-fault" which is to say the third party accepts full liability and we recover all costs incurred for the claim then your NCB would be restored at this stage. As far as I’m concerned this is shocking to hear because the incident happened in February we are now in September how can the claim still be open this is definitely due to the incompetence of both peppercorn and Davies group. Everyone please I’m telling you do not go with this insurer if something happens and GOD Forbid you are in an accident that is not your fault the speed and the urgency in which they’ll will handle your claim will leave you depressed and stressed out

never had to claim, fingers crossed, but updating my policy was incredibly easy and the price wasn't too bad either!

I had a no-fault car accident in December 2023. I wasn’t even in the vehicle; I watched it happen from my living room window. Despite providing photos, videos, and two witnesses, the insurance company has failed to resolve my claim.
Eight months later, they still haven’t refunded the £425 excess fee or assigned liability for the accident. It feels like my claim has been forgotten, buried in a pile of paperwork. I've received no updates unless I initiated contact. It seems they haven't made any effort to progress the claim.
I lodged a complaint and received a final response stating that my claim is progressing at an "expected rate." If this is true, I can expect to wait until 2050 for a resolution. Meanwhile, my no-claims discount is in limbo, causing my insurance premiums to increase with a different provider.
It's evident this company has created a business model using AI to handle services, avoiding the cost of employing in-house customer service and processing teams. They outsource payments and claims to other companies, which likely contributes to the inefficiency and lack of accountability.
Choosing this provider was an expensive mistake. If you prioritize price over reliability, be warned—you'll regret saving a few pounds with this startup over a reputable company. I have filed a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). Consider this when selecting your car insurance; a slightly higher premium with a trustworthy insurer is worth the peace of mind. Avoid this provider at all costs.

Had a car accident start of April, not my fault. First contact was great, after that had to wait months to get my car written off. Was finally offered a settlement figure. 5weeks in, still no money. Yet an other phone call today and was told there is an issue with funding from the party that pays the claims. No timescale when and if the money will be available. Not able to speak to manager etc as apparently no one is a manager.
All I was told is that he can log a complaint in and it will be around 8weeks to get a response.
I am a community nurse and use car daily and need this sorted.
Never ever go with this insurance , I really wish I didn’t as I believe I would have had my claim sorted by now.
Poor customer service and no one gets back to emails either.
