Fraudulent card use

I received a $300 gift card from a friend in August, I didn't even open the package until last week. When I opened the card and logged in to verify the balance, I discovered the card had been charged $238 in late October by WPY*Chens Pro Data Cleani in San Jose. Obviously I never authorized that transaction, I've never even been to San Jose, have never heard of this company, and according the the Myperfectgift website, my card wasn't even registered for online use until I registered it upon opening (had to register it in order to file a dispute), so it's literally impossible that I would have authorized this charge. I note that another user here had a fraudulent charge from the very same merchant for almost $600.

Myperfectgift encouraged me to contact the merchant to resolve my issue, but of course, that's impossible, the merchant isn't even searchable on google, how on earth would I dispute a transaction from a merchant I've never dealt with?

It remains to be seen whether or not my dispute will be resolved; I've filled out all of their forms and am waiting for a response, but the whole experience is very frustrating and discouraging. This VISA gift card was purchased here in Alberta Canada from Shoppers Drug Mart - you can be assured that I will be filing a claim with them as well in the event that this issue is not resolved to my satisfaction, meaning a full reversal of the fraudulent charge on this card.

What a nightmare

What a nightmare! A gift card was purchased for my son over a year ago and they put a block on a refund and said that I had to prove who the refund was coming from in order to release my own funds. The card was used for several purchases over a year ago..never really keeping track because it’s a GC! I have had numerous issues with these cards after giving them several attempts to work…thinking maybe it was just bad luck. I will never buy these cards again for anyone. Do not trust this gift card for anyone! Terrible customer service to boot.

This card is a scam - they charge a $3 monthly service fee that is not included in the fine print on the outside of the card packaging or on the card itself; it's included in small print in a small booklet that you would only see if you searched really hard and opened up the card package. No other gift card has a monthly fee; I couldn't even believe it was legal.

Also, when you call their support line, an automated message says that if the card expires, the funds cannot be transferred and they are just gone and to not bother speaking with customer service because they will tell you the same thing. This is actually incorrect and you would only know this if you spoke to someone... it's unbelievable how terrible this gift card is.

Stay away from this card company!!

Stay away from this card company!!! I have been trying off and on for weeks to get my card registered online. I tried using their card online and it failed. I went to their webpage and saw that it said you have to register the Card online to use it Online. So I tried registering it and every time I tried it failed with the following "We are unable to process your request at this time....". So I called the 1-855 number on the back of the card. After being told 2x by the automated operator to enter card number, expiry and 3 digit code on back each time I get the recorded message "That Information did not match our records". My card has never been used and doesn't expire for 3 more years. It than gives you the choice to talk to an Operator, you click YES than it hangs up on you. They have no email address listed in their Contact session, you have to send them an actual letter through regular normal mail. There should be a consumer Class Action Lawsuit against this company considering how many people have the same complaints.

I just tried using two perfect gift card both for $50. We got both cards for Christmas last year from from thier grandpa. One card went ok, but the other is somehow expired, because it's dated exp. 05/22. That's incredible, therefore Visa is changing 3 dollars each month interest rates for each month past date. Therefore I only getting 20dollors back. From Visa Shame on you Visa never again.

I can't believe these things are legal…

I can't believe these things are legal (though not really surprised given the influence of Visa and their lobbyists.) A charge to buy/activate them from the store, a charge of $3 per month if you don't use them, and then for hotels and restaurants a 20% (!!) pre-authorization amount added to any bill, resulting in the owner of the card either spending under the limit or charging on another card ... all with the intent, I would assume, of cardholders forgetting about (or giving up on) that remaining balance. This may be a Visa thing rather than just for these guys. Either way, absolutely ridiculous, and typical of the profiteering practices that financial services companies engage in.

2 PerfectGift cards for my Birthday

I was given 2 PerfectGift cards for my birthday, 1 Mastercard and 1 Visa card. Neither one of them work. anywhere that I have tried, the message is always the same. "Transaction Declined" I feel sorry for the friends that got ripped off, but don't want to hurt their feelings by telling them. This is a SCAM. Phone recorded messages are a merry-go-round with no help available. Stay away.

The Perfect Gift card is a scam

I received a $100 The Perfect Gift card as a gift. I tried to use it online and at stores and each time it was declined. Calling their support line says the card should work but it never did. The card now has a $0 balance because they charge a service fee each month. This card is a scam! Do not give them as gifts!

Was given a $50 card from a company as a promotion and when I checked online balance was zero so I called as the card wasn’t used. I was told they charged $3 per month since the company purchased them so it used up full balance. What a huge rip off - especially to the company trying to run a promotion. I will never buy one of these cards for anyone!!!

Perfect Gift, perfect customer service

This is going to be a detailed review. First and foremost, I want to preface this with the fact that I've only dealt with Perfect Gift through the Pinch Me website. I am an 8-year Pinch Me customer and have had more than my fair share of troubles with them. It's hard to get them to respond to your customer service needs and even harder to accomplish what you're trying to address in the first place. So when I reached out to their customer service, speaking of Perfect Gift, I was pleasantly surprised that I was met with full attention to my situation and needs to the extent of receiving a phone call from a top tier leader of the company explaining not only their position and how they are involved in the two situations I have had with them in the last month but truly explaining in perfectly relatable and understandable detail what their part in this situation is. I can only say that I am thrilled beyond belief with their customer-centric policies and the attention received pertaining to my situation. These days it's extremely hard to get even adequate customer service from just about any company I deal with with the exception of a very few. However, this was not the case with Perfect Gift. They made sure to contact me both in response through email and with a phone call shortly after I even put in the request. It's unfortunate that I do see that they have some negative reviews because I have not had this experience whatsoever with them. And quite to the contrary. I can only say thank you profusely to the Perfect Gift company for their amazing customer service efforts and action.

** I have to amend this situation. I was actually reviewing the wrong company. I was meaning to review. Perfect gift.com as opposed to perfect gift.ca

I can’t use the card anymore.

Absolute BS. As a birthday gift i got given the $50 card, i used it to buy septum rings off body candy, and i now can’t buy anything else without the transaction being cancelled. Might i also add, i paid $15 at the checkout, and for whatever reason it’s saying i paid $20, so an extra $5 got taken off for whatever reason leaving me at $30. I’ve used these cards before, and it had the same issue.

This is a scam and deceitful company

This is a scam and deceitful company. I received 2 gift cards around $250, I never activated these cards. When I checked today the money disappear. I called their customer support and complained that it was never activated why charge the card monthly fee. They said it will automatically activate upon person who purchased the card bought the gift. Buyers be aware of this. Very very disappointed and feel embarrassed yesterday in the store. This leave a bitter taste in my mouth. Michelle
