10/10 Recommend

I LOVE Personal Capital. It has helped me save more than I could have imagined and changed the way I handle personal finance for the better. It has empowered my financial decisions and effectively encouraged me to reach my financial goals.

Easily see all of your money

Love how all of my accounts (including investment and retirement) are easily visible. I use the budgeting tool to track my spending monthly and I love the different planning tools (retirement and saving) that are available. I’ve already recommended to website to all of my family!

The app still needs a lot of work

The app still needs a lot of work. Specifically when linking banks and investments. They take too long to relink. With Robinhood it takes about 10 minutes to link every few days. With Inuit Mint finance app it's just seconds and uses my iPhone to put in the SMS pin for me for a fast login. This app needs a lot more work.

A great tool for tracking what's really going on with your finances

I'm finding Personal Capital useful for tracking all my accounts in one place. I've never had a simple way to track my net worth before, and I'm finding that to be a useful way of staying accountable to my goals. For me personally, the budgeting features don't work as well as the other components of it, so I'm using a dedicated budgeting software separately. But overall, I'd highly recommend this as a way of approaching your finances more intentionally.

Love the app!

Love the app. It’s such a useful tool for track your true net worth and see the real picture of your finances. My only negative remark would be that the app needs to workout the bugs with linking other less mainstream types of accounts/ apps that your money are in.

Worked for most of my accounts.. Mint still better

Worked for most of my accounts, but wouldn't connect to my credit union (through itsme.com a common platform for credit unions) nor my Audi Financial Services account, NOR my Northwestern Mutual account.... So yea, the only account this supported vs.Mint was.... Wait, Mint supported MORE of my accounts!

Very useful and secure

Use it regularly to keep an eye on my accounts. Never had any issues and they do offer paid services, but they are not pushy about it.

Huge fan of personal capital

Huge fan of personal capital. Provides an intuitive overview of your finances across a sprawling number of financial institutions. My personal favorite view is the monthly cash flow chart.

The Staple of Financial Health

Personal Capital is a staple in the pursuit of general financial health and the FI/RE movement.

In setting personal financial goals, one must have a coach or a confidant to ensure they stick the course and PC understands this perfectly.

By highlighting your net worth, the software motivates you to always optimize your daily, monthly, and annual expenses - encouraging you to fine tune your financial habits.
